Jalapeño mac and cheese. Very good.

Outstanding dinner at La Brasa. Interesting venue. I call it eclectic Jan, calls it bohemian. We were seated at a two top that was a little small for everything placed on it and the barrel chairs were not ideal as we were too low to the table. The next time we will request a different table arrangement, which they have pleanty to choose from. Our visit starts with a funny story. We ordered dinner drinks and our server asked for our Id's. I asked is that the restrauant rule to Id all patrons and she stated yes. I then in a light hearted manner asked, do you want to know what my rule is, and she said what? To never return to a restrauant that Id's old people. We all laughed, then I explained to her Odell's law that passed in 2024. She then said OK, we're good. Odell's story that led to HB 3571 is an interesting read, easily found on the web. We started with an old fashion and a club soda. The old fashion was blended to perfection. Jan really like the club soda. We ordered the salt pepper shrimp for an appetizer. It was excellent. For dinner I ordered the Asian wings from the appitizer menu. Jan ordered the chimichurri steak. She was very happy with her choice. The server was very good. The food was excellent, the noise was low. The prices moderate.

A burst of vibrant decor, upbeat tunes, and mouthwatering bites, this spot is officially on my favorites list! The Lomo Saltado topped with a fried egg? Flavor fireworks. My husband went with the Surf and Turf paired with jalapeño mac and cheese...equally delicious. We kicked things off with shishito peppers, and they woke up our taste buds just right. As for drinks, the Leche Old Fashioned hit the mark. Safe to say...I'll be back. Frequently. Enthusiastically. No regrets!

This used to be our go-to spot for girls' nights and birthday dinners, but after coming here again recently for my birthday, I have to admit, I wasn't as impressed as I used to be. It feels like the food quality has gone down a bit. That said, we still love the creative drink menu, especially the Matcha-tini, which is my favorite. As for the food, I still recommend the miso sea bass, chimichurri steak, bibimbap, Latin fries, and bulgogi tacos. Those are always solid picks!

I always love coming here! Split the De La Brasa with my manager and it was absolutely fantastic. The ambiance is fun, eclectic, and full of character. Honestly, it feels like you're dining on a movie set. Definitely a go-to spot for a memorable night out. :)

It's been a while since I have been to La Brasa, but we were out with friends last night and I found out they had never been. They were blown away by the aesthetic, the food and the drinks! Service is one thing that I never worry about at this restaurant. Everyone is very engaged with the customers and always have high energy. I got the bibimbap which is my go to. It was delicious and I fortunately had some to take home for leftovers.

The food and service was FANTASTIC. Sequoia was our server and she was absolutely amazing. Checked on us regularly and brought everything out at a timely manner. For it being a very busy Saturday (Valentine's Day) and our party being 7, I was very impressed. Definitely will be coming back!

I just went here for my birthday a few days ago and it was amazing! The serving sizes are worth what you pay for and the service is great. The ambience is eccentric as there's a lot of different decor types in different sections of the restaurant. I truly wanted to go just to try the Matcha Martini because I love matcha and I wasn't disappointed. It was smooth and had a sort of chocolatey taste to it. The plantains are bomb, the Brussels sprouts are fire and the birthday treat was a sweet unexpected surprise!

Came here with a big group of 12 for a birthday and the vibes were great. The restaurant is super pretty, and they gave us our own area which was awesome. They were also cool with me bringing in a cake and even gave us plates for it, no extra charge. Food-wise, it was a mixed bag. The beef in the carne y pollo was perfect, but the chicken was super dry and bland. Mashed potatoes were great though. Asian wings were good but not spicy at all. Our table had a few pasta dishes and they were all under-salted, but asking for salt fixed it. Drinks were hands-down the best part of the night (White Lotus was great), though they took a long time to come out. Service was great, our server handled the big party well, and the 20% gratuity was already added (expected for our group size). Overall: great atmosphere, amazing cocktails, okay food for a higher price. I'd come back for drinks and vibes, but not necessarily for dinner

The service is always fantastic and tonight was no different. I wish I could remember her name but I can't find the receipt. It's something like Fran but longer. I just want management to know that she is fantastic and I really appreciate her help in guiding our guests through the menu. My only complaint with the restaurant is that volume of the music. Unfortunately we have stopped coming with our hearing impaired friends because it's just too loud for conversation. I was surprised when my 40 something guests and the two grandchildren also mentioned that the music was loud. We had a 5pm reservation so the restaurant was empty for all practical purposes. We started with an appetizer of Machu Picchu Nachos. They are a fantastic shareable and could easily be a meal for one. Because we had a table of six the Family Style Pollo a La Brasa y China which comes with three large sides. We also decided to add a half order of Pollo a La Brasa which comes with two sides. With five sides to choose from we couldn't go wrong. We selected the Sautéed Mushrooms, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Fried Plantains, Latin Smoked Corn and Broccolini. My favorite is the corn and I'd recommend it without reservation. The plantains were delicious but they aren't for everyone. The chicken is juicy, tender and flavorful. If you've never had this style of chicken you are missing out and should go sooner than later. They say that it's marinated 24-36 hours before being spit-roasted and the extra effort shines brightly. The chicken is delivered with two wonderful sauces but you don't need them and I don't want to cover up the delicious flavor of the chicken. The platter alone would've fed our table of six but I'm glad we added the extra half order of Pollo La Brasa. Our table included our teenage grandson and anyone who's raised a boy knows that they have a bottomless stomach. In spite of the loud music I highly recommend La Brasa, especially if you've never tried this type of food.

My experience at La Brasa was okay. We went for a birthday and the service was good. Our waiter was very attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. He did so well for serving a bunch of people at the same time! The food was mediocre for the price and the room we were put in could have looked better. For a "high end" establishment, the ambiance seemed cheap and underdeveloped. There's a reason their lights are always so dim. There is parking outside the building, but we got hassled by some homeless men on our way back to the car. The Queso and Guac (17$) was my favorite part. The queso was addicting, I ended up using it to spruce up my main meal. The truffle Mac and cheese (25$) was VERY heavy and the cherry tomatoes in it did not taste fresh. We added steak for an extra 12$ and it looked like they took random pieces and threw it on there. Messy presentation. Very light on the truffle flavor as well. I tasted the Parmesan more than the truffle. The Lomo Saltado (28$) had exactly 6 little pieces of steak and the rest of the dish was the potato medley and a whole scoop of rice. The steak was good flavor wise but I can't get over the fact that there was so little. Again, the cherry tomatoes were not good. I removed them. I got a side of the garlic mashed potatoes, which were fine. Overall this experience was not luxury nor worth the price. It was a fun experience I guess, but we will not be returning.

Come for the vibe, stay for the food! This is such a fun date night location and great place for large groups! We saw lots of prom groups and birthday parties as there is ample group seating. There is also a larger private room for those who want a quieter atmosphere as the music is quite loud. The food is fantastic! We got the sampler platter which included Chilean sea bass, Peruvian chicken, and the ribeye. The Chilean Seabass was cooked to perfection!!! The Peruvian chicken was great as well, though the highlight was the cilantro dip that came with it. Our sides included the jalapeño mac & cheese, which was delicious, (but did cost extra) as well as Asparagus which came with delicious chimichurri sauce. We also got a side of fried plantains. We also ordered a couple drinks, which were delicious! I highly recommend coming in the evening to enjoy the fun atmosphere!

It's good for special occasions. It can be quite pricy and loud inside but the ambiance is quite nice otherwise!

I'm taking my bf there, what's lomo saltado and polo a la brasa like?

They both are amazing choices. The lomo Saltado is a mix of filet mignon, veggies served with white rice (salty and savory) and the polo La Brasa is very flavorful and tender. The portion size is pretty big for both dishes. They also make an awesome… Read more

I got out of my Uber, and I saw a couple walking into the main building. One would assume that everyone is there for art and passes by thinking nothing of it, but I knew there was a secret entrance waiting to be found. I tipped my Uber and walked in. The couple was gone, and all that was left were closed shops in a long wooden hallway. In the Hallway was a man in normal clothes. He said, "The lounge?" Yes, I replied, and he asked for my ID. I showed it to him, then he pointed to a black box on the wall with a moon sticker on it. I pushed it, and the wall opened like an Indiana Jones movie. First impressions are important, and I was impressed. The hidden entrance established the secrecy and exclusivity that I expected from a speakeasy. The Lunar Lounge featured a 1990s retro space theme. This included decorations and art. They had their business logo on the wall, a mural of a naked women sitting on a crescent moon with long red hair covering her private parts. There was a robot-shaped snack machine with a mini tube television for a head, static on the screen with angry black electrical tape making his eyes and mouth. The music was energetic without overpowering people's conversations. Calling ahead of time, I met with a bartender who explained to me that they had no intention of becoming a speakeasy; they wanted to create a safe place for their friends who were part of the LGBT community to express themselves out of sight of public view without fear of judgment or discrimination. Basically, meeting every requirement of a Modern Speakeasy. The owner did a good job creating a convivial atmosphere. People were friendly and socially warm in this relaxed environment. According to the Annuals of Tourism, "Convivial atmospheres are powerful in that they carry with them a transformative potential in terms of individuals' openness to and anticipation of future encounters, and their attendant feelings"(Rokka). The Hosts, therefore, created an Atmosphere catered to their intended Patrons. Even though the secret entrance and the atmosphere made this speakeasy impressive, the focus is on the drinks. Now, a bartender does not need to be a master at mixology, but for the sake of the evaluation, there are a few things people tend to look for in a drink. I personally evaluate a cocktail based on the balance of sweetness, acidity, bitterness, and aftertaste. According to the International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal, "mixologists, with their aesthetic approach, contribute to transforming mixology into a form of cultural and creative expression" (Creta). I ordered a sophisticated drink from their menu, wondering what they might do differently. I ordered their Cosmopolitan, a signature cocktail. Instead of putting one shot or two shots, the bartender put a shot and a half. This made the alcohol blend in with the sweetness, not too sweet, so that someone would not drink it too fast. With the cranberry juice, he added a space candy garnish shaped like the moon, and as it dissolved, it started to dye the drink blue. After I finished the drink, I ordered it again from a different bartender, and she made it the same way. I saw consistency; all their signature cocktails looked cold, full of artistic expression, and used high-quality ingredients. Now, an argument I would consider valid concerning Speakeasies is: "A real Speakeasy is a traditional hidden room within a restaurant or cave with formal attire and with jazz music." And to a point, I would agree, but at that time, cave networks were maintained, and Restaurants were a family business where you could make a secret room without corporate overreach or whistleblowing. Those places were modern at the time. Today, Speakeasy simply means to go somewhere to drink away from the general public to speak easily. This could be two construction workers getting off work to go to an exclusive place where most union workers go to relax after work, to a private room where two politicians talk shop out of earshot of the public, or to a restaurant turning into a bar after business hours and bringing in a DJ, karaoke or actual theatre. All of these activities meet the constantly changing environment that would and could be seen in a speakeasy. Ultimately, the Lunar Lounge succeeds because it captures the cultural purpose of a speakeasy, with secret doors leading to a convivial atmosphere and well-made cocktails. Based on my data and experience at the Lunar Lounge, I would consider it a modern speakeasy. The 18th Amendment wasn't just about stopping the sales of alcohol. It was about stopping people from expressing themselves in America and spreading cultural influence. The Lunar Lounge met my basic evaluation of a speakeasy, not just the physical building, but also the Freedom of Expression that its customers enjoyed.

So much to say during my visit to the NCAA Tournament…read more.... First off, I apologize for not remembering names. That's not my strong suit. Staff is very helpful in finding what you're looking for and making recommendations. 10% off for military, vets, and first responders (cigars only). You can smoke on site, which is getting rare these days. Bar & staff: Nothing short of outstanding. Not a sports bar, per se, but the games were on the one TV, which is fine with me. No kitchen on site. If you need food before your liquor, eat beforehand. Bottom line: My go to place in OKC.
