Ambiance - 4/5 - nice mix of upscale modern. Overall - 5/5 - the price is hefty no doubt but if you are open to trying super interesting dishes that you would never think of, this is the place. Out of the 4 items on the bill, 3 of them were wrong. Unfortunately, we noticed some changes to the menu and recipes, and the food just wasn't as good as we remembered. The quality seemed to have slipped, which was disappointing since that's what kept us coming back over the years. One thing that also made us uncomfortable was being repeatedly encouraged to pay in cash for a 10% discount while being told the credit card machines weren't working, even though they clearly were. It gave the wrong impression and took away from the overall experience. The restaurant was only about half full, although that's not unusual during the peak of summer. We're hoping they find their footing because this has been one of our longtime favorites. We'd love to see the food quality return to what it used to be.

While eating, I suddenly suffered a painful tongue laceration on my tongue caused buy something sharp in my food. This was not a minor event as ended up in the ER and required to follow up with an oral surgeon. No one goes to dinner expecting to leave needing medical treatment. What is truly unacceptable is the restaurants complete lack of concern afterwards. I made them aware of what happened, and despite the seriousness of the injury, the showed no accountability and no willingness to compensate. They told me they would not compensate for any of the medical bills that I have incurred. This raises serious concerns about their food safety standards, and how they treat customers when things go wrong. In this case their was clearly wrong doing on their part. I would STRONGLY caution others before dining here!!!

At that point it would have looked stupid to order a piece of cake with a candle, so we got the gelato which was old and under portioned. --The service was cold. I never really felt welcome or catered to, almost like they were doing us a favor. She never bothered to chat with us or even tell us her name. Servers only need to bring the food and act pleasant but she only brought the food. --Food was just ok. Everything needed seasoning and the plating lacked any aesthetic eye appeal. --This was our specialty birthday place so the meal and experience was a little disappointing.
