We came in on Sunday, June 7, 2026. We were looking for a dog friendly place and called ahead and it was not a problem. We were served promptly (I believe his name was Jacob- but not sure) he was GREATand was extremely friendly and helpful. Food was delish- I had the PB Burger (My FAVE!) and my boyfriend had the Hangover Burger which we also loved. We split the 50/50 Fries and Onion Rings. Had lunch on Saturday, March 28th. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce instead of the GF bun. I also got the GF french fries. But the fact that you have multiple people calling about issues with the food platforms (DoorDash, Grubhub, uber eats) and then posting about it and you do nothing to remedy it is not acceptable. The fact that each person offered to pay more money, separate to the order, it's beyond me that you can't figure it out. Most restaurant relish the opportunity to make money on a upcharge. Maybe you're just not a serious restaurant. Just picked up my order. You call that a milkshake? Why not just call in chocolate milk. Glad didn't pay full price since those went straight to the trash. We attended breakfast with the Easter Bunny this morning and we had a great time. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. There were crayons and Easter coloring pages. It was just okay. They were slightly busy but not much, about half full if that. 20 minute wait for a burger and truffle fries. Fries were sorta stale, almost zero truffle flavor, and were lukewarm; the Parmesan they use is also the cheap plastic-feeling kind. The burger was just meh, not very seasoned at all, almost no salt on it, no other seasoning flavor. Mostly just tasted like browned beef. The bacon wasn't fresh (to be expected for the most part), but it certainly didn't have a great bite; it was a bit leathery. I have been here many times and they have been in Bay Shore for many years. As someone who doesn't eat animal products, my review comes from that point of view. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. It is table service or you can get takeout/delivery. The menu items are very reasonably priced. There is a full bar, and three seating areas (high tops, regular tables, and back/outdoor/enclosed). The bathrooms were clean and the service is very friendly. There is only really one menu main that I am able to get, and that is the quinoa burger, but I am very appreciative that there is that option. You can also "build your own burger," so that allows for variations each time which makes it a little bit more exciting. The sides are also good, and I appreciate that the "brussels sprouts with bacon" can be made without the bacon, it's not pre-made. The drinks were also very good! I didn't taste any chipotle ranch, and it was smushed. The truffle fries didn't have any truffle taste at all. They tasted very basic. I had garlic aioli on the side which was decent in flavor. My coworker created her own burger with mushrooms and cheddar. She said the mushrooms weren't fresh, and they tasted canned. She also ordered sweet potato fries which she enjoyed. An average lunch. Ordered a burger and fries through DoorDash.... Didn't know if I'd like the Cajun seasoning and DoorDash didn't have an option for it on the side.... I called the kid answering the lhone needed to ask the manager .. who never actually came to the phone... the kid came back saying " the company doesn't allow them to do seasoning on the side" and he couldn't give it to us for free.... Now that summer is over and the BBQs are done, we were craving a burger. Local Burger is very fairly priced and good quality restaurant for a quick dinner. I had the atomic burger, which had jalapeños, bacon, cheese, onions and pickles, with sriracha mayo. It was very good. My fiancé ordered the local burger, which had cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles. My only complaint is that the burgers are pretty small. Onion rings- So oily and the batter was so thick. Mac and cheese bites- burned flavorless oily and dry inside Really bad! Fried pickles- thick cut of pickles which I like but again oily. His reaction didn't match the situation and was over the top, causing other customers to become uncomfortable. There is no need to curse about waiting 20 minutes. Restaurant staff work hard to prepare the food and try to have it out in a timely manner. In my opinion, the man didn't even wait that long. One of my favorites on Main. Local burgers are bomb, the fifty fifty with onion rings +fries is my favorite cause I don't have to choose just one lmao. The shakes are good too, and they have malt which is a game changer. Malt powder in shakes is such an underrated gem, I wish more shake spots understood this outside of diners. Local gets is tho. I and my family have been longtime supporters of local businesses and continue to do so despite the COVID-19 crisis we are facing. We understand the importance of supporting these businesses during this most troubling time. While the burgers were good, my issue with Local Burger of Bay Shore was that I was charged seven dollars for a side of soggy onion rings and they only made five. To charge someone for a side of fries (all sides were soggy) when you call yourself a burger place is one thing, but to completely rob them is another. Seven dollars for five onion rings?! Does that sound even remotely appropriate? On top of that: when I called to inquire about this issue, I was made to feel as though I was in the wrong. Very dismissive. There's nothing better than knowing that the things you buy, food you eat, and beer you drink, is made locally. It just gives off this feeling of do-gooder-ness that you know you're supporting a (Long Island) location. What's even better is getting to experience this all under one roof. That's kinda how things roll at Local Burger Co., the spot that was dinner for my girlfriend and I last month. This wasn't my first time devouring a burger from LBC (I had tried them once before in their newer Patchogue storefront), but they did originate in Bay Shore so it was nice getting to try their stuff from the source. It was slightly later when my lady and I strolled in so there were plenty of seats available. The place has a cozy/contemporary feel to it that also seems to throw in notes of an almost rustic, barbecue setup. Needless to say, I liked it. Our waitress was a super chill (and mildly eccentric) person that added a little extra to the evening, in a good way. She even offered to give us as many dipping sauces (they have a lot) as we wanted, without charging the small fee that is entailed (59 cents) after the first one. Pretty cool, I must say. She did have to come back a few times as we weren't entirely sure what to order at first. Local's menu has a nice variety of burgers (including a build your own option), different style fries, several sides, and a full bar of drink choices. The menu also shouts out to all the local places that help contribute to making Local so...um, local. Oh, and they rock the Local to Locals logo on their door which is awesome to see. Had enough locality yet? Good, because we haven't even dove into what we ordered. The namesake burger (The Local) was chosen by the lady (American cheese, lettuce, onion, pickles, local sauce, sans tomato) while I went with the Bleu Ribbon selection (bacon, bleu cheese, sautéed onions). Add on a side of Cajun fries (with chipotle ranch and garlic aioli dipping sauces) as well as a side of mac-n-cheese to finish off the edible choices. Both burgers held plenty of flavor, especially mine with those onions and bleu cheese coming in strong. I will note the patty isn't huge and I can't say it entirely shines through its toppings, but the whole burger does come together nicely nonetheless. Oh and those fries were crispy with just a little zing of heat while the mac held creamy goodness in each bite. I washed it all down with a DUBCO light lime that helped round out this locally-based meal, at a reasonable price, I might add. Overall, Local Burger Co. is a superbly solid food establishment that grabs a nice hold of the idea of local businesses working together. From there, they've built a strong menu of choices with good service at a nice price. I'm still hesitant to give up the five stars for them (I wanted just a little more out of that burger flavor), but consider Local (either location) as a place I'd frequent and one that isn't out of the realm of possibility to get to that five star level, from me anyway.
