Although it sounds like the type of place focused on beer, that might just have basic bar foods, Tap Room actually has a really delicious menu. There are several locations throughout Long Island, so I can't attest to the consistency spot to spot, my experience at this one in Bayshore was great. There was an overall chill Friday night ambiance, watching sports and hanging with friends. We sat at the bar and had no problems quickly ordering and getting our meals. Prices are pretty standard for the Long Island bar scene. All the food was great though. I personally had the chicken avocado wrap with sweet potato fries, and you know a place is good when the fries have special dipping sauce just for them. The wrap was perfectly mixed together (not just thrown on in chunks) with a good sauce distribution to ensure each bite was enjoyable. Always a chill and fun time when visit tap room. The go to is forever going to be the tap tenders - these godly chicken "tenders" are so crispy and delicious. Flavorful and memorable are two of the best words to describe the tap tenders. I recently tried their cauliflower tacos and had them wrapped in lettuce - my God!! They were amazing. I think I'll start ordering those and just stealing a tap tender off my husband's plate lol. Give them both a try and enjoy! read more

Nice pub/sports bar setting to grab a meal. It's not cheap for sure but the food is really quite tasty. Let me tell you about the MUSSELS. They were some of the juiciest mussels I've ever had from Prince Edward Island, and served in a buttery wine broth with some garlic bread. YUM. The brussel sprouts dish in hot honey was also heavenly. Burgers/Sandwiches did not blow me out of the water but were as expected. Good service overall and they can be quite busy on weekends. We had: Appetizers: - Birria Egg roll: (two egg rolls filled with birria and mozzarella. served with a side of consommé, pico de gallo, chimichurri) this was decent- unfortunately not as tasty as I would've hoped. Also the egg roll came pretty lukewarm. Can tell it is not fresh. I'm pretty sure the filling is of roast beef and not birria beef, consome isn't as decadent as I would've liked. Chimichurri definitely compensated for the lack of flavor in the egg roll. Entrees: -Strawberry Fields Salad (side portion): (strawberries, craisins, cucumbers, gorgonzola, candied walnuts, tomatoes, red onion. served over mixed greens with raspberry vinaigrette.) next time I'll probably opt for no red onion and tomatoes. Also maybe a bit lighter on the Blue Cheese. Otherwise this was a delicious salad! I have mix feelings about Tap Room as I had issues in other locations. Bay shore is one of the better ones and specially the second floor. The bartender is very attentive and super friendly. Food was very good as always. They always have the best beers and honestly the best bar food I've ever had. In the photo I had macaroni cheeseballs, burger sliders, and chicken nachos. I personally like the Patchogue location better I was in the Bayshore location at the time. I just think that Patchogue has better service. Bayshore location gets very busy and I don't feel like the service is on point when it's too busy. I love their point system on their app you rack up a lot of points at once. The Tap Room in Bay Shore has a fun vibe and consistently good food, which makes it a nice spot for a casual night out. That said, I want to leave a heads-up for anyone who eats gluten-free. While they're listed on some gluten-free restaurant finder websites, they are not a gluten-free establishment nor do they have gluten-free options. I asked about safe options and was told that even the French fries aren't gluten-free because the oil they use contains gluten. Definitely disappointing if you have celiac or gluten sensitive. If you don't have dietary restrictions, you'll probably enjoy the food. read more

The Tap Room has a few locations over Long Island but my boyfriend and I love this one. The service is always top notch and the food is tasty and comes out fast! It is loud, it's an after work meet up for drinks and good apps place but it's so worth it. I decided to get the taquitos and boneless wings for my dinner. Personally the taquitos were too much, I enjoyed the flavor but there was a lot going on. The boneless wings however were AMAZING! Breaded just like a chicken nugget at McDonald's. Very crispy and had a satisfying crunch. My boyfriend loves the mussels but was disappointed with this particular batch, they were very fishy, which in turn made the broth fishy. Chicken, pico, sriracha, cheese...yummm! Broccoli balls- broccoli, cheese, garlic...fried. You cannot go wrong. Although this sampler was all fried food, it wasn't heavy or greasy. Onto the meals... My boyfriend and I both got the same thing..the whisky burger...but I got mine with chicken. This consisted of whisky soaked bacon, cheddar, and a whisky sauce. It was very tasty. You can actually taste the whisky. The bacon had a jerky consistency. With my sandwich I got truffle fries. They were super good and I could taste the truffle throughout. My boyfriend got Cajun fries. He said he didn't taste the Cajun throughout. Both fries were nice and crispy. Service was great. Can't go wrong with all the moz sticks, mac n cheese bites, broccoli bites; All great things fried! Then I had a burger in the wrap option and the sauce was creamy and complimented the flavors well. They were a fun departure from traditional nachos with the bbq, which brought a nice sweetness as a counter point to the heat of the jalapeños. Loved the red cabbage too. A unique taste to bring to the mix but it went well. The size of the dish was great too. Not so much that you are forcing yourself to finish it. They left us wanting just a little more and that's perfect. Beer selection was long and had great variety. We added an order of Dragon Wontons and they were super flavorful, crispy and delicious. I've been to another Tap room location before and enjoyed my experience but I went to the bayshore location last night and was extremely disappointed. It took 20 minutes for our server to ever come over to our table to even greet us to begin with and that was because we had to go up to the hostess stand and ask who our server was and they said "I'll get them". They finally come over and after we ask if when a bigger table opens if we can end up moving our check to accommodate for more guests they just walk away , never taking our order. Then we move tables to accommodate for a larger party and still wait 15 minutes for a server to come over to greet us/ get a drink and order and that was because we went to the hostess stand again. Our server came over rarely and everything took so long. Our server was very nice but as someone who worked in the restaurant business I know waiting 20+ minutes to even meet your server is unheard of. A server should greet you immediately and if anything say i will be over in a few minutes. Seemed like the staff didn't know what they were doing. read more
