We love Ecuadorian food and we're so excited to find this spot. When we walked in, it had cold decor and seemed they were going for bright, trendy coffee shop vibes instead of Ecuadorian restaurant. Floors were plastic LVP and tables were all light wood and close together, but it was very clean. I had the Seco de pollo which was pretty good, but it would have been better with more onion salad, limon, aliño, and cilantro. The onions were very good. The menu said it came with potatoes, but it came with plantains and avocado, which was a plus. If we had just ordered the Seco de Pollo, water, and shared it, I would have rated it a 4. I ordered naranjilla juice, one of my favorites in Ecuador, but the frozen pulp brand used is one that has an off flavor and the drink was served more like an icee. Most brands of frozen mora are good, so that may be a better route if you decide to try the juice. The salchipapas were nothing like pictured. The fries were just frozen crinkle cut fries, which had a school cafeteria texture. There was no onion salad on top either. My daughter ate just a couple of bites. She ended up getting sick on the way home. The total was just over $45. Too overpriced for lunch with plastic cups. Replacing the canned soda displayed up front with Ecuadorian Coca Cola in glass, fiora vente, and other Ecuadorian sodas, having more Ecuadorian decor and even chonta wood tables, and Ecuadorian TV/music would add better ambiance than AI screen savers. The service was slow, with drinks not coming until our meal was served and I had to get up to get the check. I mentioned how the fries were terrible, but didn't receive a response at all. Florida needs more Ecuadorian restaurants, but with great options like daily almuerzos with the many amazing soups, pinchos with garlic/cilantro mayonnaise, chicken/pea/carrot empanadas (Ecuador has amazing empanadas that are nothing like the empanadas pictured on this page), Parrilladas, and even volquetero. read more

It's honestly outrageous to be charged an 18% service fee and then still be expected to leave another 20% tip. I spent about $180 on food, paid around $30 in service fees, and was basically expected to add another $30 on top. We went on a trip in June 2023 to Ecuador to see our family and coming here felt like we were back there with the food. I found this little gem after leaving Sea World. It's 5 minutes away. I was craving something new. This is an Ecuadorian cuisine restaurant. It's a small cozy location. We were seated right away and our waitress was very attentive. They offer traditional drinks but not from fresh fruit (frozen pulp). It's a little disappointing because Ecuador is known for their delicious fruits and fresh juices. The passion fruit was good and tasty. The Naranjilla drink not so much. It was bland and missing the naranjilla taste. The mixed Bolon was delicious. Ask for Ají (traditional spicy sauce) it's not really spicy but very tasty and flavorful. One of the main traditional dishes is Ceviche, accompanied with green plantains chips to complete the dish. This one hit the spot and satisfied my craving. The waitresses are always distracted and in all my experiences they bring something incorrect to the table. you have to call them repeatedly for every single items like utensils, lemon, hot sauce, which they are very stingy about. I also ordered through DoorDash a couple of times from there, and there is always something missing from the order. Last time it happened I called the restaurant and they accused the delivery guy to steal one of the items. Ecuadorian food is one of the most underrated and underrepresented Latin American cuisines. It shares some elements of Peruvian and Colombian but uniquely their own with influences dependent on location. So, while on a road trip, I decided to seek out Ecuadorian food and found Cafe Pinton in Orlando. Being new to the restaurant, were unsure of how service was and so were offered at the counter but later observed that regulars simply took a table and were approached by the young lady at the counter who took their order. However, there were others who did the same as we did and ordered at the counter before finding a table. Being familiar with Ecuadorian cuisine and married to a first generation Ecuadorian American, the menu was easy to understand. For starters, we started with the Bolon Mixto. This was served with a meat based side sauce and hard-cooked Sunny side up egg. The Bolon was moist and tasty. The accompanying sauce was a nice topping for the Bolon and together with the egg, a complete meal. The fusion marinara or shrimp and fish ceviche was wonderfully refreshing in the citrus marinade. Add in crumbled plantain chips and you have another winner. Finally was the seco de chivo. The host was moist, tender, and nicely flavored. The balance of seasonings was on point. Why four stars and not five? The prices. Because it is hard to come by good Ecuadorian in Florida, after the initial shock, we committed to simply enjoy the food. read more

The worst food, I had tried. My wife was stomach sick. After eating encebollado that it is not definitely Ecuadorian. The Bandera was supposed to have encebollado, rice, gatita, seco de chivo. The seco de chivo was done Indian style with a lot of curry. Guatita stinks, encebollado with some kind of greasy cheese, horrible. That was the worst waste of $83. That I was charged. Upon receiving my food in a perfect and exquisite time, I was delighted to see that my meal was freshly prepared and portioned perfectly. Me and my girlfriend were visiting sea world and happened to stop by this place. My goodness were we surprised! They had the most authentic Ecuadorian food you can find. First and foremost a delicious whipped orange juice that was the best OJ I've ever had in my life. The pork sandwich was incredible, the Green Plantain empanadas, WOW. Visited Orlando this weekend, and had seen this restaurant on Instagram and was looking forward to visit it, as there very few Ecuadorian restaurants in Florida, but honestly was a bit disappointed, ordered a bandera, the portion was enough for a 4 year old child, the watita and seco de puerco had great flavor, the ceviche lacked flavor and plated on white rice, (traditionally served on yellow rice) also ordered sandwich de pernil, was dry and not savory at all, the mora juice was great, Swrvice was not best, ordered water and juices to start with and food came and my drinks where no where to be found, had to literally grab a bottle of water from the freezer myself when reminded the server about the drink he asked to be reminded what we had ordered.
