We came for Sunday brunch and there were luckily still some tables left. The ambiance is like your typical cafe and suited more for 2-4 people rather than a large group. You seat yourself and order at the counter. I couldn't really tell if it was self-bus or not since there were no signs but there was a cart with bins. Vietnamese Opla 4/5 It's a decent portion and good variety of food for the price. The meatballs were tender and the tomatoes were flavorful. The potatoes were cooked well and there was a heap of pate for the dish. I'm knocking off some points since the meats and carrots were a bit bland. I was expected pickled carrots since they're common in Vietnamese cuisines. Overall, I would be willing to come back another time to try other dishes since it feels like a unique restaurant but the food wasn't something I'd be raving about.

Cafe Opla was a pleasant surprise for me! For a restaurant by the pier, I thought it might be overhyped, but the food and drinks were really good! I love the twist on a classic Vietnamese dish and how they offer different types of oplas inspired by different countries. We also got their Vietnamese inspired drink flight and it was a true hit. Every drink was so unique and not like any other Vietnamese inspired drink I've had before. They were all good and I'd definitely get it again. The restaurant was surprisingly smaller than I expected, as it's located as a cafe within the entrance of the building, but they do have some outdoor seating. Since it's also a location right on the pier, it gets pretty busy with a line almost out the door, but the line moves pretty quickly and they do their best to serve the food as quick as possible. Tables are first come first serve, so be on the lookout once you arrive! The prices are a tad on the pricier side, but I expected that given it's in a touristy area. If you're looking for a nice meal while exploring the pier, would definitely recommend giving cafe opla a try!

While in Seattle we went here for lunch the day before our Alaskan Cruise. Its conveniently located right outside the front enterance of the Marriott Hotel we stayed at. I had Bahn Mi sandwich. It was very good. Good place to go for a quick bite.

The entire time I was in the restaurant I had to remind myself we were by the waterfront which is why everything was so expensive... but for the very high prices I was expecting something a little more than what I received. The flavors in the opla are good. My group got the Philippines and Vietnam opla to share. I think you can't really go wrong with longanisa and tocino with fried eggs and a baguette. The meatball, pate, and lemongrass pork in the Vietnam were flavored really well. Wish both had more sauce to dip with and a bigger baguette. The baguette that came with the opla was so small we had to order more. The $25 price tag was very steep to me, considering the dish itself. I have had a lot better skillet dishes in other places that were cheaper. We also got the pho fries to share. It was $17 and the portion was tiny. The only thing that made it "pho" was the meatballs and the hoisin sauce they put on top. There was something about it overall that I did not really enjoy, but my boyfriend thought it was fine. I like that they had different kinds of opla but being so expensive, I don't think it's worth. Maybe if you're in the area but there's better Vietnamese food in Seattle.

We flew into Seattle today. When our hotel room wasn't ready we walked across the street, actually across the parking lot, to Cafe Opla for lunch. I knew immediately that I wanted a Bahn Mi sandwich. 0rder at the counter & they then bring the food to your table. The sandwich was so good! The bread was toasted perfectly. The chicken was tender & plentiful, and the toppings were fresh. It was a nice size which I wasn't able to finish. Snack for later tonight. The restaurant is small so I see where it could get crowded at times, though not on our visit. Service was friendly & fairly quick. Good start to our overnight stay in Seattle. 2025-30

Went here on Saturday for a brunch. The parking was a bit tricky bc I parked in the public parking and walked down along the pier. I ordered Vietnamese Opla with Xiu Mai, my bf ordered Gochujang Breakfast Sandwich. I liked mine but wish the meatball had a bit more seasonings and a bit more sauce to dip the bread to. My bf loved his, he claimed it was "best sandwich he has ever had" We will come back for sure :)

Drinks came out pretty quickly. Food takes a bit longer of a wait time. 10-20 minutes ish. The place is pretty quiet, especially for a late monday morning. Food is very good. It sticks pretty close to traditional flavors and seasonings for the meat. Side veggies are nice for a refreshing brunch.

In a touristy area near cruise ship boarding. Got a tea, it was alright. Service was as quick as it could be, but it was pretty crowded. Only recommend if you need a quick drink before boarding a cruise at Pier 66.

I'm giving this place bonus points for creative dishes. I really like the concept of these fusion skillets, but the food itself is nothing too crazy. My friend and I shared the Tofu Skillet and the Tofu Bahn Mi. My other friends shared the Vietnam Skillet and a Pork Bahn Mi. Everything still tasted good, but I have defiantly had better Bahn Mi before. There wasn't much flavor to the lemongrass tofu, but the texture was really good. The vibes inside were simple and cozy. It's good for a quick bite/catch up. They were also very quick to bring out our food and drinks. I ordered a warm matcha which was very good. My friends ordered a coffee with a sweet egg cream on top which was delicious. I would come back for the drinks.

The skillet was good! I appreciated that it could be made vegan too upon request. The drinks however are very very limited if you have a dairy allergy. My partner enjoyed his sandwich and drink. The service was ok. This spot is in kind of an unexpected little area but is near the cruise terminal and waterfront.

The Vietnamese opla was okay, toppings were abundant! But the tofu skillet was too dry - needed more sauce for dipping! The egg coffee was sweet, so beware coffee purists! Service was so-so, needs improvement. My avocado opla was unavailable, and they offered no alternatives until I checked the menu again - all while standing 1st in line and kept other people waiting. One egg coffee arrived late when we were almost finished.

This place was one of our first searches for breakfast food and I see why! Fyi, this place is poppin' so expect a long line/long wait! This place is right across from the Cruise port, so all the people from the cruise came to this spot! Despite the hustlin' and busyness, customer service was great! I got the Viet bowl and Viet coffee. Love the coffee! Bowl was average. I recommend if you have not tried this place already.

I live about an hour from downtown Seattle and was meeting friends at a different popular well known Asian breakfast spot. We thought 10am would be early enough at the original spot, show up to about 20 people ahead of us and after 20 minutes of waiting (and hungry at this point) with no movement we settled on trying Cafe Opla (we wanted to go somewhere with unique brunch dishes, not your average, pancake, bacon, eggs place). We got there around 11am on a Sunday with only 2 other parties in the restaurant. This restaurant is casual, walk up counter to order and then food is brought to table. The menu is quite extensive, with their signature dish was the Oplas "Modern twist on Vietnamese breakfast" which is breakfast in a skillet. I was sharing /splitting with my friend and settled on the Hawaiian Opla and Gochujang Honey Breakfast Sandwich. The Hawaii Opla (spam, pulled pork, cucumbers, mac salad and rice) was delish, although it looked bigger in pictures. The skillet is probably 7 inches in diameter. The Gochujang sandwich was alright, it was honey forward and I couldn't really taste the Gochujang sauce. I also ordered the Iced Ube Vietnamese coffee, but other friend got this warmed and it looked a lot prettier with the design on top. I did find it a little pricey, but hey eating out is expensive these days. If you're in area looking for someplace quick, easy, yummy, unique dishes then I would recommend Cafe Opla.

Never disappointed when I come here. I've had the Vietnam, Korea, and Philippines Opla. All were yummy. My favorite is the Vietnam because the meatball is full of flavor and juicy! Fried egg is cooked perfectly, crispy and partly runny. The concept & the location is a bright idea. Various country flavors located inside the World Trade Center, genius. Service is fast (not fast food fast) with just enough check ins on how the food is and water. Linda is a wonderful host! She's also one of the owners and you can tell right away she cares about all her customers. She's a sweetheart! Clean establishment! They have an "excellent" rating for the inspection posted on the window. They have Stumptown coffee, tried the latte and that was yummy. Also had their viet ice coffee, strong and delicious, just how it's supposed to be. Price: given that they are on the pier, the pricing is very fair. Tip: spend the 50 cents on the pate! I like to spread it on my baguette. Yum! read more

Really cool find! Opla from all over the world, so had to try the Korean Opla. I don't eat meat so I had the Korean bbq on the side (for the boyfriend) and rice on the side. Do not under estimate this meal. The size may look small but very filling. Location was inside an international building, but it was not busy on a Friday morning. Service was great too! read more

We were a bit skeptical considering it had only 3 reviews but the pictures looked amazing. And I must say that the food didn't disappoint. We order Korean Opla and it tasted as good as it looked. The big surprise was the tofu and the wonderful freshly baked bread that came with it. The portion size was a tiny bit smaller than normal, and we felt that the menu should have the option of "hash brown" as a side dish. One would expect a bit more of crabs from a brunch dish. read more

Great breakfast spot! Not too heavy and had great nitro brew coffee! Is it a must visit spot? Perhaps not but if I had to choose a place for breakfast to try at least once, this is for sure a good place to go! We got the Opla Hawaiian and Opla Philippines! Both were great options! I'd recommend this as a great start to your day while visiting Seattle especially if you're staying at the Marriott across the street! read more

Cafe Opla is easily a go-to place for brunch! Food: I was very pleased with such a great meal served here. It is a great place to come to if you want variety and a hearty breakfast/brunch. They are known for their oplas which consists of meat + veggies, and 2 sunny side eggs served on a hot skillet. They have variations of the meat/veggies that reflect different regions such as Vietnam, Philippines, Korea, Hawaii, and America. I ordered the Opla Vietnam, which features meatballs, grilled pork, and pickled vegetables, and the Opla Philippines which features meatballs, longanisa sausage, and tomatoes with fried garlic. Both tasted really good and the portions were worth the price of about $10 each. The Asian in us ordered both with rice, but the owner recommended their baguette because it's really good. So of course we had to try it and we're glad we did! The bread is the perfect texture. The pate that is served on the side compliments it so well and it is by far the best pate I've ever had. Service: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food came out quickly. Location: It is located on the ground floor of the Seattle Trade Center, right across from the Waterfront and the Marriott. There is paid street parking available nearby, as well as paid lots if you plan on visiting other attractions in the area such as the Aquarium or Pike Place Market. read more

Great spot for breakfast especially if you're on your way to the sculpture garden! It is kind of in between the sculpture Garden and pikes Place market. They have delicious coffee both hot drip coffee and Vietnamese ice style, I believe they serve Stumptown coffee. The breakfast /lunch is reasonably priced and there are so many options it's difficult to choose what to eat! There are many different types of Asian breakfast styles and an American style. There is plenty of seats for small groups and the staff is very friendly and helpful in choosing what to eat. It is self service for water, utensils, busing, etc read more

I have been meaning to visit Cafe Opla, but never had the chance due to a tight schedule. This morning I managed to free up an hour and find a convenient parking spot across the street. I came in and ordered a the Regular Baguette 4" sandwich and the Hawaii skillet, along with an iced Chai and iced Vietnamese cafe sua da. There was a line if 4-5 customers before and after our order, so we weren't surprised it took about 15 minutes for the food to arrive. The two drinks were out within 5 minutes, just had to remember to get straws which are hidden in plain sight. The regular sandwich was a bit plain for me, I should've ordered one of the more flavorful variations. The Hawaii skillet came out delicious, and both drinks were definitely a treat. All in all. I would like to revisit and try a couple more different items on their menu and see how I like it. Oh, there is also a 20 minute limit for beverage-only customers, and seating can be difficult especially if there are more than 2 in your party. read more

If you're looking for a perfect breakfast/brunch, check this place out! Their menu features a little bit of everything. There isn't anything I don't like because everything I've had is delicious! The chimichurri is everything! So good! My personal favorites are Opla Vietnam, Opla Korea, House Special Banh Mi, and the Deluxe Breakfast Baguette. My favorite drinks are the lavender latte with a little bit of honey, Rose Kombucha, and their Italian Sodas (I generally try the flavor that is in season). read more

I came here for a quick bite to eat after a workout and ended up staying for 2+ hours. Linda was the most welcoming server I have had in my life, I have traveled alot in this country. Linda offered the best service, friendliness and comfort. I recommend everyone that comes to Seattle to spend some time here to have a good authentic bite to eat and overall great atmosphere. I cannot say enough good things about this place and Linda. I work in customer service and it's hard these days to have a great attitude and great customer service and I see myself in Linda. A happy go helper. Please please please go spend some money and have a great experience right on the waterfront here at this cafe. P.S. give Linda a raise. read more

Linda was beyond amazing. This entire establishment was an amazing experience, I am visiting from California and this Cafe was the highlight of my trip. Everything on this menu is amazing. Cafe Opla in the past has been one of my favorite breakfast spots in Seattle. While still a place I will visit infrequently, changes to the business model makes it a less desirable experience than before. Moving from a counter order system to a wait staff seems to have tripled the amount of time it takes to get your food. Expanding the menu might have impacted wait times as well. Overall I think they do best as a fast order small menu spot. read more

The location has beautiful views and the interior is nicely spaced out and very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I want to give this a better rating, but the hot chocolates I ordered were anything but. They didn't taste of chocolate at all. The kids' hot chocolate I ordered was the same (lukewarm) temperature as the adults' one I specifically requested to be extra hot. It is hard to find something good to say about a hot chocolate that isn't got and isn't chocolate. read more

I had bought the skillet at this Cafe in hopes of it being enough food for me. It was 17 dollars and came with 2 eggs 6 greasy tater tots that were soaked in old oil , pulled pork , and spam all of which were drenched in oil and tasted mid at best.My girlfriend ordered a breakfast sandwich and the only thing that was warm was the eggs and the bacon was RAW. Employees didn't have nametags or any indicator of them working there, mumbled everything, and ontop of that all of the utensils were in this tin can where people stored thier dirty napkins and used silverware. One of the worst cafes I have ever been to definitely shocked that anybody would rate this above 1 star.Do not waste your money or time going here. read more

Located right inside the World Trade Center near Pike Market, this place is a gem. They have great Vietnamese inspired coffee, breakfast sandwiches and oplas that pay homage to a variety of different countries. I was addicted to their coffee during the three days I was here. read more

If you want to go somewhere that you can grab a little bight to eat and some coffee then this is the place for you. The quality of food is pretty tasty and nice to look at there's just not very much of it so don't come here if you are really hungry, I would say their coffee is some of the best I've ever had, I got the Vietnamese iced coffee and it was to die for. The cafe is a little understaffed but the service was still good, although the tables were a little dirty. Overall I had a pretty good experience here. read more

This place is right across the street from the Marriott waterfront, it's not usually open on Mondays and Tuesdays, but they're starting to open it. The breakfast was about $32 for two people. The coffee is excellent, the service is excellent, and the food is excellent. Will definitely be coming back for the rest of our trip. read more

Always delicious! I work upstairs in the World Trade Center so I pop by here often for lunch. They have really good and reasonably priced sandwiches and their oplas are tasty, too (I always get Opla Hawaii). Staff is always kind and friendly! One of my favorite drinks to get here in the summer is a lavender italian soda with cream, plus their coffee is great (pretty sure they serve Stumptown). And you get a great sliver of a Seattle waterfront view from the cafe. Definitely recommend to friends and family when they visit! read more

Very lovely, nice view of the sea and mountains. The food has great portions, and is a very refreshing change from the usual cafe. I had the Opla Hawaii and it was perfect. The baguette it came with was crisp and really drove the whole dish home. The location is also very tame compared to the shops inside pike place market. Really chill atmosphere along with great food. Went in a few days ago, the place was bustling and the service was great. Today stopped by there were maybe three tables occupied. A young guy came to the front, mumbled something I couldn't understand, showed me to the table. Brought me 1/2 glass of tepid water, dropped a menu and left. Saw him shuffling slowly around the place, cleaned off a table, straightened a few other tables and passed by me about six times. Not a word. Finally after 15 minutes of sitting there, I got up and left. I know they have an order counter but I was served quickly and politely the time before. I don't see any reason today. The guy shouldn't be a waiter. Bad customer service skills. I know it's tough right now with service people but this place was not slammed today. Won't return. read more

Something so simple such as eggs and baguette....can taste so amazing... This tasted just like home. The selection they had were plentiful and the quality of the food was top notch. Stopped by here for a quick lunch before heading over to Pike Place Market. Ordered deluxe sandwich and Vietnamese ice coffee (cafe sua da). The flavor is good and bread was crispy on the outside and flaky/airy on the inside. Portion is really small and I was still really hungry afterwards. Came here with my friends and then again with my girlfriend the next day. Both times I was extremely satisfied with the food and service. I had the Opla Phillipines on the first go and it was delicious. The meatballs were surprisingly juicy and the longanisa was on point. On the second go, I had the Opla Korea. The tofu was awesome! It had so much flavor to it you wouldn't believe that it was tofu until you asked. There was also kalbi, which was cooked to perfection. It could have used a tiny bit more marinating, but that's because I like my kbbq. Both dishes came with beautifully executed sunny side up eggs and a Vietnamese baguette accompanied with a chimichurri sauce that was to die for. The service was quick and the staff was friendly and very helpful! Prices were decent for the area and the place was clean and tidy. No complaints there. It's not really a brunch place, more like a small cafe down at the embassy corner. Food is good though, various hot skillet dishes with featured flavors from different countries. My husband and I stumbled upon this delightful gem after being "lined out" from all the places around Pike Place Market. So simple and delicious! The gals at the counter greeted us right as we walked in. There were so many good options I wasn't sure which skillet to try. The gal at the register immediately offered some suggestions listing the most popular dishes. We went for the "Opla Phillipines" and the "Opla Hawaii." Both awesome choices. The Opla Hawaii had spam, pulled pork, furikake and fried shallots. The Opla Phillipines has Filipino pork sausage (yum!), meatballs, tomatoes and fried garlic. The mini is the perfect size for a midday snack. Ps, make sure to get some chimi sauce to dip your baguette in. Money! Service and food, two thumbs up! read more

The event is held on the tables right behind the cafe in the KEXP building. It's open to the seating area, so it's a bit loud especially with the music and conversation, not to mention all the chaotic energy with the employees trying to lead around a large group in a rather crammed area; it's not exactly the ideal environment for a tasting, but I can't complain given that it's free! At any rate, for this event, we got to try 7 different types of coffee. First, they ground up the beans and we single file went through each set of three cups, giving each a series of short sniffs before ambling over to the next one. There's not much time devoted to each coffee, maybe 5 or 10 seconds, so it's difficult to take notes or develop much of a thought consensus for each one. With that being said, my personal notes are as follows: Sweet Dreams (Light Roast Bolivian) - Sweet smell, not quite fruity Wild Heart (Light Roast Colombian) - Super fruity like red berries Norwester (Light Roast Blend) - Some lighter fruity notes compared to the Wild Heart Caffe Del Sol (Med Roast Blend) - Balanced roasty smell KEXP Blend - Very toasty and dark Passionfruit Coferment - smells like passionfruit, exactly as the name suggests Dragonfruit Coferment - smells like dragonfruit extract/powder, very concentrated smell, way more than the actual fruit itself. It smells natural though. They then brewed each cup for a couple of minutes, broke the crust, and got the top crust grounds out. Actually sampling the coffee took awhile given the amount of people. Apparently in the past, they would have participants dip spoons into each cup and directly sip from the spoon. Now that we're in the COVID era, they provide paper cups, so we spoon the coffee into the cup and then sip. (Note: I caught a cold two days afterwards. I can't definitively say it was from this coffee cupping, but I have a strong suspicion, especially since I saw other people store their spoons in their cups between sippings). Again, since there's a line of people, there's not much time to spend on each coffee. My notes: Sweet Dreams - Surprisingly fruity, like peach or other stone fruit, which I didn't get from the smell at all. Wild Heart - No fruitiness, instead is rather chocolatey, which again, doesn't match the smell of the grounds. Norwester - Not much here, tastes like a nice coffee blend. Caffe Del Sol - Roasty with some sour tang at the end. KEXP Blend - Tastes like dark roast, I couldn't get much out of this one with the time I had. Passionfruit - Actually really good, tastes like passionfruit green tea from a boba shop, but a bit more complex and less artificial. Dragonfruit - I loved this one the most. Strong dragonfruit essence. I actually asked if I could buy this, but they don't sell it. They told me the got it from Black & White Coffee Roasters in Raleigh. I'll definitely be looking them up. For snacks, they had some cut up pastries from Grateful Bread. Very nice gesture to end the cupping with! Overall, I found this cupping to be very chaotic without nearly enough time for me to develop strong opinions on each coffee. I think it was a certainly a good experience overall (especially with the fact that's it's free!) but it's not something I would do again. Bathrooms - Larger all gender restrooms with multiple stalls.

I recently visited opla and had a generally enjoyable experience. The food and drinks were delicious, and the quality was impressive. The oplas are a bit overpriced, but the norm for the waterfront. The two girls serving us were exceptionally friendly, making us feel welcome and well-attended. However, it was clear that the restaurant was quite understaffed, which led to delays in service. I've been somewhat a regular at opla, however, the lack of staff on a HOLIDAY and even during the summer is unacceptable. Overall, the managers need to start caring for their staff and wellbeing. If the service matched the quality of the food, this place would be an amazing brunch spot! read more
