We came for Sunday brunch and there were luckily still some tables left. The ambiance is like your typical cafe and suited more for 2-4 people rather than a large group. You seat yourself and order at the counter. I couldn't really tell if it was self-bus or not since there were no signs but there was a cart with bins. Vietnamese Opla 4/5 It's a decent portion and good variety of food for the price. The meatballs were tender and the tomatoes were flavorful. The potatoes were cooked well and there was a heap of pate for the dish. I'm knocking off some points since the meats and carrots were a bit bland. I was expected pickled carrots since they're common in Vietnamese cuisines. Overall, I would be willing to come back another time to try other dishes since it feels like a unique restaurant but the food wasn't something I'd be raving about.

Cafe Opla was a pleasant surprise for me! For a restaurant by the pier, I thought it might be overhyped, but the food and drinks were really good! I love the twist on a classic Vietnamese dish and how they offer different types of oplas inspired by different countries. We also got their Vietnamese inspired drink flight and it was a true hit. Every drink was so unique and not like any other Vietnamese inspired drink I've had before. They were all good and I'd definitely get it again. The restaurant was surprisingly smaller than I expected, as it's located as a cafe within the entrance of the building, but they do have some outdoor seating. Since it's also a location right on the pier, it gets pretty busy with a line almost out the door, but the line moves pretty quickly and they do their best to serve the food as quick as possible. Tables are first come first serve, so be on the lookout once you arrive! The prices are a tad on the pricier side, but I expected that given it's in a touristy area. If you're looking for a nice meal while exploring the pier, would definitely recommend giving cafe opla a try!

While in Seattle we went here for lunch the day before our Alaskan Cruise. Its conveniently located right outside the front enterance of the Marriott Hotel we stayed at. I had Bahn Mi sandwich. It was very good. Good place to go for a quick bite.

The entire time I was in the restaurant I had to remind myself we were by the waterfront which is why everything was so expensive... but for the very high prices I was expecting something a little more than what I received. The flavors in the opla are good. My group got the Philippines and Vietnam opla to share. I think you can't really go wrong with longanisa and tocino with fried eggs and a baguette. The meatball, pate, and lemongrass pork in the Vietnam were flavored really well. Wish both had more sauce to dip with and a bigger baguette. The baguette that came with the opla was so small we had to order more. The $25 price tag was very steep to me, considering the dish itself. I have had a lot better skillet dishes in other places that were cheaper. We also got the pho fries to share. It was $17 and the portion was tiny. The only thing that made it "pho" was the meatballs and the hoisin sauce they put on top. There was something about it overall that I did not really enjoy, but my boyfriend thought it was fine. I like that they had different kinds of opla but being so expensive, I don't think it's worth. Maybe if you're in the area but there's better Vietnamese food in Seattle.

We flew into Seattle today. When our hotel room wasn't ready we walked across the street, actually across the parking lot, to Cafe Opla for lunch. I knew immediately that I wanted a Bahn Mi sandwich. 0rder at the counter & they then bring the food to your table. The sandwich was so good! The bread was toasted perfectly. The chicken was tender & plentiful, and the toppings were fresh. It was a nice size which I wasn't able to finish. Snack for later tonight. The restaurant is small so I see where it could get crowded at times, though not on our visit. Service was friendly & fairly quick. Good start to our overnight stay in Seattle. 2025-30

Went here on Saturday for a brunch. The parking was a bit tricky bc I parked in the public parking and walked down along the pier. I ordered Vietnamese Opla with Xiu Mai, my bf ordered Gochujang Breakfast Sandwich. I liked mine but wish the meatball had a bit more seasonings and a bit more sauce to dip the bread to. My bf loved his, he claimed it was "best sandwich he has ever had" We will come back for sure :)

Drinks came out pretty quickly. Food takes a bit longer of a wait time. 10-20 minutes ish. The place is pretty quiet, especially for a late monday morning. Food is very good. It sticks pretty close to traditional flavors and seasonings for the meat. Side veggies are nice for a refreshing brunch.

In a touristy area near cruise ship boarding. Got a tea, it was alright. Service was as quick as it could be, but it was pretty crowded. Only recommend if you need a quick drink before boarding a cruise at Pier 66.

I'm giving this place bonus points for creative dishes. I really like the concept of these fusion skillets, but the food itself is nothing too crazy. My friend and I shared the Tofu Skillet and the Tofu Bahn Mi. My other friends shared the Vietnam Skillet and a Pork Bahn Mi. Everything still tasted good, but I have defiantly had better Bahn Mi before. There wasn't much flavor to the lemongrass tofu, but the texture was really good. The vibes inside were simple and cozy. It's good for a quick bite/catch up. They were also very quick to bring out our food and drinks. I ordered a warm matcha which was very good. My friends ordered a coffee with a sweet egg cream on top which was delicious. I would come back for the drinks.

The skillet was good! I appreciated that it could be made vegan too upon request. The drinks however are very very limited if you have a dairy allergy. My partner enjoyed his sandwich and drink. The service was ok. This spot is in kind of an unexpected little area but is near the cruise terminal and waterfront.

The Vietnamese opla was okay, toppings were abundant! But the tofu skillet was too dry - needed more sauce for dipping! The egg coffee was sweet, so beware coffee purists! Service was so-so, needs improvement. My avocado opla was unavailable, and they offered no alternatives until I checked the menu again - all while standing 1st in line and kept other people waiting. One egg coffee arrived late when we were almost finished.

This place was one of our first searches for breakfast food and I see why! Fyi, this place is poppin' so expect a long line/long wait! This place is right across from the Cruise port, so all the people from the cruise came to this spot! Despite the hustlin' and busyness, customer service was great! I got the Viet bowl and Viet coffee. Love the coffee! Bowl was average. I recommend if you have not tried this place already.

I live about an hour from downtown Seattle and was meeting friends at a different popular well known Asian breakfast spot. We thought 10am would be early enough at the original spot, show up to about 20 people ahead of us and after 20 minutes of waiting (and hungry at this point) with no movement we settled on trying Cafe Opla (we wanted to go somewhere with unique brunch dishes, not your average, pancake, bacon, eggs place). We got there around 11am on a Sunday with only 2 other parties in the restaurant. This restaurant is casual, walk up counter to order and then food is brought to table. The menu is quite extensive, with their signature dish was the Oplas "Modern twist on Vietnamese breakfast" which is breakfast in a skillet. I was sharing /splitting with my friend and settled on the Hawaiian Opla and Gochujang Honey Breakfast Sandwich. The Hawaii Opla (spam, pulled pork, cucumbers, mac salad and rice) was delish, although it looked bigger in pictures. The skillet is probably 7 inches in diameter. The Gochujang sandwich was alright, it was honey forward and I couldn't really taste the Gochujang sauce. I also ordered the Iced Ube Vietnamese coffee, but other friend got this warmed and it looked a lot prettier with the design on top. I did find it a little pricey, but hey eating out is expensive these days. If you're in area looking for someplace quick, easy, yummy, unique dishes then I would recommend Cafe Opla.

My family and I were impressed with the menu and really wanted to try the food. We arrive with 2 parties ahead of us, also waiting to be seated. The hostess/waitress/barista (already not looking good) seated us and took the orders for the 2 parties ahead of us but people kept walking in because the way they set up is people with to go orders need to go to the front. My husband went up to ask if we should order directly instead, because she took 4 parties orders before us - so we were already waiting 15 minutes to even take our orders. She said no and it wouldn't be long. Then 2 more parties showed up and she took their orders ahead of us, AGAIN. Then the food for one of the parties were ready and she served them and went back to the counter, took a phone order. Then she took ANOTHER party's order again. My husband went up AGAIN to ask again to order to go, and the hostess/waitress/barista said it was going to be another 5-10 minutes to TAKE our order. By this time, we were fed up with waiting for at least ACKNOWLEDGEMENT and customer service that our orders were going to be taken. I also have to add, she told a party of 2 to move to the next table, which is unusual, but also I have to add, me and my husband and that party of 2 were people of color. The hostess/waitress/barista was catering to everyone else who were NOT people of color....just our family and that party of 2. Our family left, we were tired of waiting and being overlooked. This restaurant/cafe needs better service and ways of taking orders. I can't imagine lunchtime where it would be chaos with the way that they treat people coming in, the order that they come in. read more

Loved it! Got the Korea mini and it was the perfect portion. It came with French bread. Most other brunch places offer skillets that come with other heavy carb bases like potatoes, rice, etc. The French bread was a nice change, because it made my meal less heavy. I recommend getting the regular size if you're looking to get full. Everything tasted good. Service was great. Even though it was counter service, the workers came to check if we needed anything. #1 reason why I liked this place so much is cause its the only place that I have found in Seattle that serves bo ne style dishes. read more

Little cafe located in Seattle's World Trade Center building. I guess this is why they chose to create a rendition of breakfast from a select number of countries, mainly Asian countries. You get 2 sunny side up eggs, your country's popular food and a baguette. Good idea, poor execution. Opla Korea: (2/5) eggs, short ribs, tofu, kimchi, pickled cucumbers and a baguette. I have a huge obsession with Korean food, so this was a complete disappointment. The short ribs were not seared enough... no nice caramelization/char, which is always nice to have with short ribs. Flavor wasn't bad. Then there's the tofu... It was seasoned with lemon grass... NO. Lemon grass does not go with Korean food. Where have you seen lemon grass in Korean food... That is for Vietnamese or other Southeast Asian countries. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Kimchi was fine. Have been burping kimchi all day lol. :) The next two I didn't order but will give a quick review. Opla Hawaii: eggs, shredded pork, spam and baguette: I tried the pork, which was pretty good. Juicy and flavorful. I wish I got this one. These items pair better with eggs and baguette than the Korea one. Plus, how can you go wrong with mystery meat (spam)?! Opla Vietnam: eggs, pickled veggies, meatball and beef: he said it was "okay..." with the least enthusiasm possible. Would I come back? Don't think so... read more

New lil cafe that just opened up a few weeks ago. What I like is that they don't just offer coffee/tea, but also offer light breakfast/brunch/lunch meals like Opla and Bahn Mi for those who are sick of typical bakeries and crave more substantial meals for their stomachs. Despite the fact that they are located right in Downtown (in the same lot next to where Marriott waterfront is and opposite Anthony's on Alaskan Way), their prices are super reasonable. Their Banh Mis are reasonable at $7 (I didn't try that), and their Opla (hot plate of eggs, assorted meat/tofu/veggie, and a crusty outside soft inside baguette) comes just $8-$10. Super reasonable in my mind. You can pick a mini or a regular size for Opla and there were a bunch of Opla for you to pick from: Vietnam, American, Korea, Japan, Hawaii, Avocado, Veggie, etc. I got a Opla Korea and it was not only Instagram worthy, the taste was great, too! It reminded me of my childhood time when my dad took me on a road trip down in Hatyai, a southern province in Thailand and we stopped by to eat in a nearby stall...and I still remembered the image of what I ate (fried egg in hot plate + slice of pork loaf, sweet chinese sausages, fried shallots and a baguette) back then...although what Cafe Opla offers..is much more luxurious, filled up with more ingredients than what I found on a street side back in Thailand then (I think this type of dish is French-Vietnamese influence or something). Great presentation + unique + great taste! I really like this place and hope they stay open for long and remains successful. The staff there was friendly, polite and very helpful. If I work nearby here, I'd come eat here every week. read more

This is such a cute spot for brunch ! We got Opla VietNam and Philippines and they were pretty good. I am very spoiled with Vietnamese dishes so I am a little picky with the bread size. I thought the bread was kinda small but overall I think the amount of food was enough to get you comfortably full. The concept is pretty cool as they include different ethnicities. read more

Just discovered this hidden little spot last weekend. It's a great alternative to your standard American breakfast. I had the Opla Korea and my boyfriend had Opla Philippines and Vietnamese iced coffee. All of it was delicious! I thought the proportions are just enough to get full, but my boyfriend, who is on the huskier side, got an extra baguette to help hold him over. Having that it's a fairly new business (only open for 3 months), I'm eager to see Cafe Opla prosper and grow. The current space is fairly small (seats maybe 45 people) but I'm confident that if they chose to, they could easily move to a bigger space and fill it up. read more

In one word, underwhelmed. I should have ordered an Opla, but I needed something to go so I chose a breakfast sandwich instead. I got two deluxe to go, and I probably could have had just the one and been satisfied. The bread is very good, nice chew, slight crunch on the outer part. It could have used a sauce, or additional seasoning to add some spunk to it, but as is was, just ok. No real flavor jumping out at you. Held together well. The best part was the bread. I would definitely come again and try the Opla. read more

We stumbled upon this place while walking around the waterfront. Glad we went in! I love the idea of the foods - from other countries. The idea is you have a skillet of food and you eat it with the banh mi- Vietnamese French bread :) I had Opla Philippines and my husband had Opla America and we both devoured it. I'll definitely be back again! Service is fantastic and food comes out pretty fast as well! Price is very reasonable for the area! Since I live a few blocks away, I'll definitely be back here again... already planning brunch plans with my girlfriends hahahah. read more

Banh mi, is a term often used to refer to a Vietnamese sandwhich, but it actually just means bread in Vietnamese. Op la, is actually a french term (oeufs au plat), that means sunny side up eggs. So together, banh mi op la is the combination of a Vietnamese baguette and a fried sunny side egg served in a personal sized pan. Cafe Opla definitely has me feelin' some type of way. This is my all time favorite breakfast growing up and even now as an adult. My cousin and I tried out Opla Hawaii & Opla China. They hit the spot on a super cold wet day in Seattle. What's even better is the price. $8 for a small skillet with one egg and $10 for a large skillet with two eggs. Not too shabby for downtown. Can't wait to go back!! read more

I absolutely LOVED this place and I'm so glad that I gave it a chance. I'll admit, I was a bit hesitant to try this place out even though the reviews are stellar. I definitely "judged a book by it's cover" before giving it a chance. Mostly, it was because of the location (being in a somewhat touristy area) and also because they serve Asian fusion. A lot of cafes that have a variety of Asian cuisines don't do it right. However, Linda, one of the owners, definitely knows how to do it right! My boyfriend grew up eating mostly Vietnamese food at home. When he saw "opla" in the name for a brunch spot he was immediately excited. We ended up ordering the Hawaiian Opla and the Filipino Opla we ordered it with the bread and then got 1 side of rice to share too. All of the meat was phenomenal! When we were almost done with our food, Linda, the co-owner, came around giving people water and we ended up talking to her about my work, travel, food, and our backgrounds. She's super friendly! I loved the level of service that she provided. The opla definitely gave me flashbacks to a Vietnam vacation I took in 2011 when my friend took me around to have breakfast steak and eggs on the streets of Saigon. This is a place that we would take friends or family that come into town to visit for a unique brunch spot! read more

I forgot to check in while I was as in Seattle. Great place for breakfast. The Opla's were perfect skillet combinations for a light Sunday breakfast. I chose the parmesan Opla with no egg due to allergy. (They were very accommodating) so much cheese it was more than my tummy needed but my eyes and taste buds loved it. Parm, avo, and bacon. It was cheesy and deicious. With a side of Kombucha. My mates were impressed too. Very happy. Sorry forgot the photo. read more

A good friend and I went to grab breakfast for our first time and the food is really good, their caramel hazelnut iced latte is now my favorite to go to drink. I was staying next door at the Marriott for a couple days. My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to grab a quick bite for breakfast. Cafe Opla happened to have great reviews and was right across the valet so we gave it a shot and we were not diss appointed! The food is delicious! Not something you commonly find. It's dishes are a fusion of different flavors from around the world. Definitely a must try if in the area. read more

Soo soo good! Very impressed with this place. I ordered a Vietnamese breakfast and it came out almost as perfection. The Vietnamese breakfast is, sizzling beef, eggs, and sausage with French baguette on the side (don't forget to order pate with it) 5/5. The hot plate makes everything so much better. I also ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee which came out nothing less than great. The lady that took our order was very nice and willing to explain the menu (since it was our first time). I notice that it was only her too, so she took orders at the counter and than you sit down and she'll come out with your food. I'd recommend this place to anyone!! read more

I ordered the mini American which was a $12.5 6in skillet with 2 sunnyside eggs, bacon, sausage, avocado, tomatoes, and cilantro. The bacon tasted sweet, and the sausage is maple, and everything was really good! My cousin ordered the Vietnam Opla and wasn't a big fan of the meatballs. They didn't have a very distinct flavor so it had a strong dull meat flavor. The Vietnam coffee had condensed milk and coffee, a little strong but taste great if you like that. Came here with a couple of my friends for lunch. They were out of the Hawaiian, Japan, and China when we were there which was disappointing since we really wanted to try the Hawaiian dish. We got the Opla Philippines, Vietnam, and Korea. Everything was flavored really well and the French bread complimented the dishes. The chimichurri sauce was delicious as well! We didn't think we would be full but the food was actually pretty filling. The customer service was great, they were super friendly and attentive and even gave us a sample of their iced chai which was really light and refreshing. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to try something new and different from the usual food options near the waterfront. read more

Another great Yelp find. We were in Seattle for the weekend and looking for a breakfast spot and boy did we find it. We walked down and found this small yet very satisfying restaurant. My husband ordered the America skillet with tots and I ordered the avocado sandwich with a side of pork sausage meatballs. My husband devoured his. The bacon was slightly undercooked for his liking but it didn't stop him from eating it. The eggs were perfectly cooked so the luscious yolk ran over the other food on the skillet. I can't have butter or milk and I didn't think about asking if there was milk in my eggs and after I ordered and before the food came out I went up to double check. Indeed they do put milk in their eggs. She told me it was no problem and that they would do the eggs sunny side up. I was super appreciative that they accommodated me. When the sandwich came out, it looked amazing. The bread was to die for. It was perfectly baked with a nice crunchy exterior to hold up to the runny egg yolks and soft avocados. I did add some Sriracha which I thought added the perfect amount of heat. I didn't love the meatballs, but I think it was more of a personal preference, the texture was a little soft for my liking. Came here looking for a simple brunch spot that wont kill the wallet and I got much more than I bargained for. This little spot serves conceptually simple dishes, but its quite amazing when all put together. They involve meats, eggs, and some vegetables, and carbs on a hot cast iron pan, for about $10-12. The meals come out quick, and they are ideal for a little quicker of a meal. There are a few varying themes, based on various asian cuisines, so theres something for everyone. Cafe opla is a great little brunch/lunch place in the lobby of the world trade building. The food comes out fresh and fast, and is very satisfying The prices are very reasonable for what you get. I think the amount of food is appropriate for around 10ish dollars, but the quality is outstanding We came in a group of 3 and tried the Korea, Philippines, and Vietnam. The meatballs are delicious and are my favorite item, but each dish has another element to it that made it fun to try from everyone. I really enjoyed the freshly baked bread that came with the opla as well. I'm used to the traditionally tough baguette, but theirs is so fluffy and fresh! Definitely stop by for a comfortable lunch! I really wanted to love this place but I just couldn't. It's a great concept and definitely something I would and could make at home, which is why I didn't find it worth the money for what I actually got. Half the sauces listed weren't even available and the ones left definitely didn't go well with Opla Vietnam so I didn't even use them. It took way too long to come out considering how many people were actually there. Once I did receive my food, the meatball was watery and didn't have much flavor at all. The bbq pork had great flavor but was so dry and nearly burnt from the skillet. The only thing that saved this whole dish for me was the cute baguettes, perfectly cooked eggs, and the patê. Maybe I'll give it another chance somewhere down the line but not anytime soon with this many good brunch spots in Seattle. read more

To any average person, this may seem very ordinary, but I am Vietnamese and I grew up on oplas!! I took my parents here shortly after flying in from Oakland, it was all of our first times! We each ordered a different one to try and they were all delicious. Each opla consists of different flavors from each country and served with a mini baguette. My favorite breakfast growing up was eggs with baguette so I have no complaints. read more

Browsing through Yelp, and saw there was a restaurant that was serving a Vietnamese style breakfast, so was super excited to try it out. It relatively near downtown, but its by the waterfront so depending on how you get to the area it may be a little hard to find, if you are like me and had to figure how to get down there from the other side of the viaduct. Coming in, it look like your average Seattle cafe, but with pictures of the opla on the walls. Opla are basically versions of the American skillet with eggs and various types of meat, normally the hot dog or can variety, but some times grilled meats served with a baguette. There are tons of options for opla, but I went with the Hawaiian option which is spam and pulled pork. You can add pate to the plate was well, which is a nice touch as it pretty traditional in Vietnam to have it with opla. I loved the opla that I as it totally reminds me of Saturday morning breakfast that my mom would make for me. The egg was a nice runny sunny side up, and the baguette was warm, great for dipping into the egg yolk. I wish it was a more full size baguette though. Spam is spam, but the pulled pork was in a sweet sauce, that I don't normally associate with Hawaiian Kuala pork, but still good. I got the spicy sate sauce to go with it, which gave everything a spicy kick. Will have to be back to try the other options. read more

This place is awesome! For those who don't know, oplas are just the egg dish that this place serves and they taste awesome! TLDR is it's a quick and great value spot for a filling brunch. Pros: + Very quick and delicious breakfast/brunch food item that is incredible value! After you can find a place to park, you'll find this cafe tucked into a corner in a building called World Trade Center. Opla is a small cafe serving skillet breakfasts and baguette sandwiches with pan Asian flavors and ingredients. I wanted to like it, but it seemed like they took a bunch of stuff from Costco and rearranged it into breakfast items. I wasn't convinced they actually made anything. This place has really good food, definitely recommend! I only gave it 4 stars because the price you pay for the mini oplas vs the small portion is just not it for me. The two girls serving us were exceptionally friendly, making us feel welcome and well-attended. However, it was clear that the restaurant was quite understaffed, which led to delays in service. I've been somewhat a regular at opla, however, the lack of staff on a HOLIDAY and even during the summer is unacceptable. Overall, the managers need to start caring for their staff and wellbeing. If the service matched the quality of the food, this place would be an amazing brunch spot! read more

One of those rare new places that have it together within their first few weeks of opening! Tried the Hawaiian and Japanese Opla and it was just the perfect meal to have on a Sunday afternoon. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Definitely a cool new place to check out. They also serve Stumptown Roasters Coffee! read more

Great place for anytime of the day! I've been for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food is consistent across the board. The food is full bodied and very flavorful. The portion sizes are great for sharing or taking some home for leftovers as well. The service is always great here and the staff is friendly. read more
