Literally my favorite restaurant in all of CT…read more i just got engaged yesterday, and me and my fiancée have been coming here for years. when i was thinking of spots for engagement dinner, i knew immediately. i always love coming in here, greeted with a super cozy vibe, and a very friendly host each time, and were served almost immediately after being seated. today, our experience was no different. we went with the meatballs and steak skewers for our appetizers, and they were a home run as per usual. for our mains, i got the grilled cheese sandwich with steak inside, cooked medium rare, with fries. my fiancée got the cobb salad with steak, and poppyseed vinaigrette. absolutely incredible as to be expected, i always get the biggest smile on my face when i bite into the food here. for dessert, we got the crème brûlée, which was a blueberry flavored version today. if i could give 6 stars, i would. this place makes me so happy. i urge everyone to come try this place!

I'm assuming they're owned by the same folks. Once inside you'll see the bar to the right, dining to the left then the pool tables and bathrooms all the way in the back. There's a TouchTunes digital jukebox here so you can play whatever kind of music you want loudly throughout the restaurant. Lol. Service: It seemed as if 1 to 2 lovely ladies were running the bar and the whole restaurant by themselves. They were doing an excellent job making sure we were all taken care of and I was quite impressed. Food: I came for the WWWIIINNNGGGSSS. We tried the Mango Habanero, Sweet Thai Chili and Thai Peanut Butter & Jelly. They were all just okay. I don't like breading on my wings. It just adds carbs and makes the wings "look" bigger. It is our mission to try all of the wing flavors. It's a great local bar on the south side of town, where there are not as many bars and restaurants. I went here many, many, many years ago when I still lived in Connecticut (I live in LA now) but don't remember much of the experience other then what the inside looks like and man, it still looks the exact freaking same. We arrived around 8PM and got seated right away. The staff was super attentive with providing drinks and menus and the kitchen staff had the food out super quick as well. I kept it simple and ordered a Buffalo Chicken Wrap with a side of french fries and really enjoyed it. The Buffalo Chicken Wrap tasted great and the hot sauce wasn't overpowering. The french fries here were crispy and tasted great, the perfect pairing for a late night bite (look, eating out at 8PM is late for me). Overall, Eli Cannon's is mostly a bar, but is also a pretty solid place to grab a bite to eat. The place truly is Middletown and with friends living nearby, I can definitely see myself returning in the future for some night time grub.

I tried both the Blue Cheese and the Ranch. I'd recommend the Blue Cheese. I'll definitely return to try more wing flavors.
