I learned about Who Seek on Yelp and immediately started planning my first visit. A short 36 hours later I was in the area and made my way over.
Imagine a speakeasy - small, private, kinda exclusive. That's what it first looks like when you walk into Who Seek. Black walls, black subway tiles behind the sleek, minimalistic ordering counter. They have three tv screens with colorful pictures of the 6 different items on the menu:
1) Honey butter cube- cubed toast drizzled with honey butter in 6 different flavors: apple pie, matcha, strawberry, honey, soybean, and coffee.
2) Snowflake - the famous Korean dessert - crystalized milk flakes in matcha, coffee, strawberry, and chocolate flavors.
3) Bubble flake - good ol' bubble tea (honey dew, milk tea, taro or green tea) topped with snowflake
4) Coffee drinks served hot or cold - americano, latte, cappuccino, caramel macchiato, mocha
5) Ade - basically a fruit flavored soda in few different flavors: rose, lemon, passion fruit, peach to name a few
6) Smoothies made with either juice or yogurt
Service was great. We had quite a few questions and the gentleman helping us had no problems answering every single one. We ordered the Chocolate Snowflake and Apple Pie toast, were handed a little order buzzer and directed to the back.
As you walk over to the left side of the counter, you'll notice a brightly lit definition of "Who Seek". Adorable. You keep going and there are 3 booths to the right, not a lot of seating so somewhat concerning if you stop there and don't walk through the automatic door disguised as a bookshelf. (I told you - speakeasy vibes).
Through this door is basically dessert heaven. Bright white walls, bright white sofas, pastel chairs and accents, flowers, art with clouds. Adorable times infinity. Perfect for a date, a little after dinner treat with friends, or even for a change of scenery while you do some homework. Seriously the most instagrammable space in all of Chantilly.
Our buzzer rang and we headed over to the pick-up window for our desserts and they are BIG. Good thing because they're not cheap - about $12 each for the snowflakes and toast. Not too bad if you're sharing, but for the Yelp, we decided to just try it all. Speaking of Yelp, check in and get 20% off of any honey toast dessert.
The Apple Pie toast was warm and delicious. Perfect soft cubes of lightly sweetened bread served with vanilla ice cream. It tasted like a very crisp and light apple pie a la mode. This matched pretty perfectly with the Chocolate Snowflake which had a mound of snow cream underneath a whole slice of chocolate cheesecake, chocolate macaron, two chocolate wafer sticks and two chocolate pocky sticks. I will say that the ice could have used more flavor (some more chocolate maybe? an extra 5 drizzles of condensed milk?) because a lot of it was just straight up ice. But with all of the chocolate goodies on top, it was hard to find a plain ice bite, so we forgave.
On the way out the boyfriend decided to order a cold Caramel Macchiato to-go and this was pretty good too. Not too sweet and you can still taste the coffee. The display of red velvet chocolate chip cookies on the counter were calling for me and the kind gentleman must have heard because apparently any drink order gets a free cookie. Oh yeah I forgot we were in dessert heaven. Ask and ye shall receive.
Seriously, you need to come here. The desserts are yummy, the service is on point and the ambiance will give you all of the good vibes. Come to Who Seek now before everyone in the DMV knows about it and that wait will probably make you want to leave. read more
