May have been expecting too much but I was not impressed. This location comes nowhere close to the original. The service was rushed, the food was edible (ok, not great) and it was crowded as can be - which is great for business but not great when it seems like your serves can't keep up. I was seated at a middle table that was far too small for two plates, drinks and condiments. Again, not impressed and wouldn't go back. I went to Cafe Madison for brunch a little after 10AM on Labor Day, and there was a 30 minute wait. After getting seated, the waiter attended to us quickly and took our orders even though the restaurant was busy. We ordered the Ultimate BLT, Vegan French Toasts with berries, and a side of Sausage Patty. The food came out quickly in less than 15 minutes and was very good. The BLT had lots of flavor and the French toasts were thick and really filling. In terms of the restaurant's ambiance, the decorations and set-up inside the restaurant were nice, but the music and noise was a little loud. Overall, my experience at Cafe Madison was great, and I think the price for the food was very fair. This restaurant is worth the wait it often has. read more

Love the decor and atmosphere of Cafe Madison this was our second time ordering take out and probably our last.I ordered 2 Basic Breakfast with Cheddar cheese both came with american cheese error 1 the home fries could of stayed home they were over seasoned and hard barely cooked like eating a raw potatoes. The toast is unnecessarily thick it came inside the container so the heat made it soft and chewy. I found this amazing place as result of reading reviews on yelp and who knew that it's location is across from Memorial hospital! This is a refreshing addition to the Albany area and makes you think you're in South Florida. The bright colors and kitschy retro Decour along with the convertible space using garage doors so that you can experience the outdoors while dining. There's often a long wait for brunch however it's open seating at the bar which has the option to sit outside and look in. I highly recommend their specialty drinks. The pomegranate Mamosa was excellent and the proper size! Try some of the coffee drinks as well I chose the daily special which was a hamburger omelette which was unique and delicious; served with Suracha ketchup drizzle which was slightly over powering ( maybe better to serve on the side)Home fries are plentiful and served with choice of bread/ toast which I rarely eat- but I enjoyed the walnut wheat with real pieces of walnut! My spouse had a smoke chicken Benedict served on gorgonzola corn bread which was delightful. It was light with the perfect balance of flavors. They make their own bread's and a lot of gluten-free and vegan choices on the menu. They do serve Irish bacon which is not totally authentic but very tasty. Wait staff was upbeat and efficient. Our waitress Ashlie H. was an absolute hot mess and a disaster. Let me begin by telling you all what happened. My girlfriend and I are both in the hospitality industry so we understand it's not an easy job and we know that it gets busy. First of all after she took our order, she left us hanging when we asked for lemons for our waters. It's okay to forget things sometimes when you're busy but the fact that she didn't even give us any courtesy apology or sincerity shows the type of employees that this establishment likes to recruit. That's not all of it. I ordered a burger medium rare and it came out well done! The fact that she didn't even bother to check on us or asked us how our food was is already bad server 101. Even if the restaurant was fully swamped, you still need the audacity to go to each and every single one of your tables and check on them and as soon as you see someone that's not happy or satisfied, the first normal human common sense thing to do is to apologize and that's common sense. But nope. Not with this dumpster fire waitress. And also the fact that I didn't even say anything about my burger was already me being nice. The busser lady who wasn't even our server gave us 20 times better service than Ashlie H. And after we told the manager Ryan about our issues, he was nice and sweet however Ashlie H. decided to talk trash about me and my girlfriend to her co-workers RIGHT IN FRONT OF US! WHAT PROFESSIONALISM IS THAT?! Do you guys want to go out to eat and get treated like this? I'm not trying to be a jerk or a Karen, I speak nothing but the truth. I frequent a variety of cafes. Cafe Madison is fresh, bright and cheery. It is the ideal coffee environment because it visually wakes up the mind while the caffeine takes care of morning brain fog. I highly recommend their chocolate chip raspberry oatmeal pancakes. They were heavenly. The house blend was full bodied in the best of ways. I drink my coffee black, and therefore taste the flavor of the brew rather than cream and sugar. I was highly satisfied and will return soon. read more

When it arrived, I had some bites and asked the server to confirm it was vegan, at which point she said it was not and became argumentative, with a later visit from her becoming even more loud, rude and argumentative. Got sick from the bit I had and couldn't finish my food, and my part of the food was removed from the bill, but was able to have the privilege of being served the wrong food, getting sick from it, and being yelled at and argued with over it. Waitress forgot to include the ham in the order. Mrs asked for the cinnamon swirl toast. It looked good but every piece was burnt on the edge. I ordered the eggs Benedict. Google it and you see it defined with Canadian bacon. Not here, Irish bacon is an add on. Waitress said it was a vegetarian choice. Hollandaise sauce was excellent. Stopped in for Brunch on Saturday. Pretty packed i would suggest putting yourself on the waitlist before getting there. We did so we were sat right away. Our server was new, forgot a couple of things but he checked in on us frequently and being apart of the service industry, I get it. The food was really good except for the crab cakes in my Benedict. This spot is ok but nothing to write home about. There is a gorgeous woman at the door who greeted my sister and I. She had red lipstick and a lovely smile, she seated us quickly. The atmosphere is nice and upbeat. We went in the morning and my sis ordered oatmeal pancakes with coffee. She couldnt finish the pancakes and she said the coffee was terrible, it tasted like warm water. I got the french toast and strawberries/bananas on the side with iced chai. The iced chai tasted like bailey's creamer, I didn't like it. I wish they had more iced coffee options. The French toast was ok but I had to box it up and eat it at home. The strawberries were warm and tasted like they've been in the microwave. I was expecting FRESH chopped strawberries at least, I dont mind if the bananas were heated up but I like strawberries fresh, not soggy and warm. Judging by how mediocre our food is, I can't imagine any meat/egg type dishes! I would straight up throw up. Unseasoned eggs ? no sir. When we left the place, we noticed a line of people outside ogling at folks coming out. I looked at my sis and rolled my eyes. IT IS NOT THAT SERIOUS! I would only come here once in a blue moon but I wouldn't wait a second in line for mediocre food. We were so ticked off at the drinks we drove to Starbucks to get REAL drinks. I went for breakfast with a friend and although tempted by everything on the menu opted for 2 eggs over easy, sausage(delish), homefries(seasoned and delish) and the extraordinary bread out of my normal comfort zone of rye. I chose the dill onion, I could have eaten a loaf. Just delicious, buttery extraordinary bread. I ate it all(never do that). Our waiter Brian was charming, the atmosphere was interesting and engaging, looked like a trendy loft in the middle of a strip mall. Coffee was good a little mellow which I like compared to the turpentine that you can get labeled coffee in other places. My friend had a meal I would probably try next time. I want to go back. We have been to Cafe Madison at Loudon Plaza numerous times. The food is wonderful and the decor is really cute. In the summer they offer a tent so you can enjoy eating outdoors. Our only suggestion, if you go on Sunday at about 10:00am there might be a long wait, so try to get there early. read more

Definitely one of my favorite brunch spots in the Capital region! Cafe Madison always has several adventurous specials that rotate weekly (like Boston crime pie pancakes- yum!) and compliments those with a solid core menu that never disappoints. Their freshly baked bread is to die for (and you can buy it by the loaf- I recommend the cinnamon) and their mimosas are just the icing on the cake. This was my third time there for breakfast. First 2 times were very good but I think it's going down a little. My first turn-off was the coffee...it was so weak!! Absolutely no flavor! I had a mushroom and cheese omelette, which was pretty good, but short on mushrooms (maybe 6 little mushroom slices). Home fries were extremely dry and tasteless. I had a side of sausage, which tasted like McDonald's breakfast sausage... not bad, but nothing special. The bread was pretty good. Service was good.
