This is a tent run by Rischart and one of the few places where you can have a sit down coffee, wine or champagne and get all sorts of food including desserts whilst listening to live band cranking out popular German tunes, without a reservation.
We had the coffee and Kaiserschmarrn and it was fine. For what is a mass produced product the Kaiserschmarrn tasted good and it came with a really nice apple sauce.
For those who don't know, Kaiserschmarrn is a scratched pancake, which has its name from the Austrian emperor Kaiser Franz Joseph I of Austria, who was very fond of this kind of fluffy scratched pancake.
We were able to get a seat within about 10 mins of arriving into the tent. A tip - politeness will not get you a seat. Just beeline for the tables where people are either about to leave or leaving and get yourself a seat specially during peak meal times.
The service was courteous and quick and we had our food in about 5-7 mins despite the tent being packed out. The prices were also reasonable and the coffee tasted ok.
Would happily come back here again. read more
