This was our first stop in Munich and the food was just delicious! We went around 5 pm and didn't have trouble finding seating. We also ordered the snack sampler appetizer so it was nice we got to try a couple of things. The energy was great in here, and it wasn't overwhelming. This is a great place to go to taste delicious German food and still be able to talk to your friends.

No reservations but wait went fast. A great place to grab good food and great beer. Service so friendly .it was cooler so I started with potato soup. Delicious. The spaetzle was sonic loaded with cheese. The chicken portion was large with zucchini and salsa . Highly recommend to meet nice neighbors as tables close. Good place for beers and tasty brews

Food was delicious. We sat outside and it was self order and they brought the food out. Fast service. Not the friendliest but that's Munich for ya. Inside had a cool vibe. All wooden and cool. The pork knuckle was awesome if you're a crispy pork lover!

What's left of the half pork knuckle... still quite a bit of meat!

Came here for dinner wanting to try the pork knuckle I saw in the yelp photos. I ordered the half knuckle and it was surprisingly very meaty with a fantastic crispy skin. I think I was expecting much more bone to meat ratio but was pleasantly surprised. I couldn't even finish my portion! My son ordered the Brewmaster Schnitzel and enjoyed it. It was like a flattened cordon blue but made with pork instead of chicken. Our server was pleasant and attentive. We came for an earlier dinner (just after 5) and it wasn't crowded at all but still had a nice buzz. Overall a nice dinner

It's 2026 and I went back in October 2022... but we seriously can't stop thinking about this place! We were in town for Oktoberfest and stayed at an Airbnb a few blocks from this restaurant. We came across it on our first night and went back at least 2 more times on our stay. Everything we tried was great and even for it being such a busy season we had great service and while packed didn't feel overwhelming or crowded. From current reviews it sounds like they may have switched to a digital menu but we had a paper one when we were there. Seriously can't wait to go back and hopefully it's as good as we remember. I'll have to remember to take more photos of the food.

This place was right by our hotel across the street from the main train station. They do not take cash and they make that known up front. We ordered a pretzel and it was pretty good, nothing special and I order a 0.5 liter Helles. Great beer of course and the server was super nice. Worth coming in for a beer right before heading in for the night at La Meridian next door. A pretty nice hotel.

We decided to try this place out for dinner as it was close to our hotel. It was credit card only there but that was OK as it saved some of our cash euro for more souvenir shopping. I had a cool sausage platter, which also had bacon with it. Yum! My son ended up getting a schnitzel plate, and my wife opted to try their Italian pizza. Our son like the schnitzel plate and my wife loved her pizza. However, I did try a bite of her pizza, but I did not care for it at all. The service was good.

We dined here a couple of times while visiting Munich. It is in a super convenient location, just a short walk from the Munich Hfb train station. They have indoor and outdoor seating and great service no matter where you sit. The outdoor seating was far enough away from the walking thoroughfare, so that you could enjoy the people watching without having them pass right next to you. The food was very good, much better than I expected. In fact, we liked it so much we went back for a second visit, which was a different meal choice and another very good experience. In total we ordered the white asparagus, the side salad, meatloaf with potato salad, rosemary potatoes and a prosciutto pizza. The meatloaf was really a loaf of Ham style meat. They served it with some mustard and potato salad. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. The prosciutto pizza was very good with a good amount of cheese. The side salad had just about every color of the rainbow and was very good. A salad like this is such a difficult thing to find when you are traveling, I definitely enjoyed some greens with my meal. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is soooo good. Pork knuckle, cheese pizza for the kid, a plate of sausage and sauerkraut. Beer was cold. We will be back.

This was our first meal, and it was such a good start to our trip to Germany! It felt like what I would imagine drinking back in the village days look like hahahah. The first thing we ate was the pretzel (obatzda), and it was ohkaaay. The pretzel was kind of hard and dry... but maybe that's a German thing haha. The serving of the cream is so much more for 1 pretzel, so we got another pretzel, and still couldn't finish. The 1/2 pork knuckle was amaaaazing!! Get the pork knuckle. And lastly, the apple strudel was the best apple strudel I've ever had in my life. We got it with the vanilla cream sauce thing, and it was the best.

    1/2 pig knuckle

Quite good. I had a great half a crispy pig knuckle and I was enough for a very hearty eater. The skin was great and crispy. The amazing thing is we ordered and the food came out in less than 5 minutes. I thought that strange but since we were hungry, it was good. My wife had the duck and it was crispy but a little dry with as side of duck rendering. All of the sides, cooked onions for me and cabbage for her were great as were the potato dumplings. It is a good place to go and right next to our hotel.

First meal in Munich and it was very good. I would highly recommend giving it a try. I had the two sausage, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut, big portion. Wife had the Veal Schnitzel, large portion for her and she love it. Our server was excellent and patient without us, English friendly and has a true German atmosphere!!

We ordered the pork knuckle, pretzel with beer cheese, and beer. The pork knuckle arrived cold and lacked flavor, while the pretzel didn't seem particularly fresh either. The beer pour was especially disappointing--the amount of foam/head was ridiculous, and for a place associated with such a famous brewery, I expected a much better pour. The photos really speak for themselves. Service was the biggest issue. We repeatedly tried to get someone's attention to place our order, but the servers seemed to avoid eye contact and kept waiting for someone else to help us. Even getting the check was a struggle--we eventually had to get up and go to a counter ourselves. It felt like the staff had little interest in actually serving the customers. The atmosphere itself has the traditional Bavarian beer hall feel, but unfortunately, the poor food, disappointing beer pour, and especially the terrible service completely overshadowed it. I really wanted to like this place, but based on our experience, there are much better beer halls and beer gardens in Munich.

We were staying at the Charles Hotel close by and saw that this beer hall had some solid reviews and was a short walk away. Germany is not famous for it's manners so we weren't surprised when the man behind the counter was not very polite when we entered and waited to be sat, but our waiter was very polite and made up for it. It's very large on the inside, quite noisy, and was filled with very large groups. We were a couple and did not feel out of place, rather it was fun to people watch. The pricing is very fair and the portion sizes are large. They have a giant drink menu as well but I chose the lager our waiter recommended and loved it, so much so that I got two. For my dinner, I chose the sausage combo plate, which was a mix of four different sausages and honestly, each of them was great. I especially like the spicy one, but, I ate all four of them pretty quickly. This place is very casual, but also very lively and a fun place to stop in when in Munich. I would recommend to any traveler, as well as to any local.
