    Spätzle

I would say this is a must stop when passing through Munich. Great beer on tap and delicious spätzle, super cheesy but not too much, and the onion straws on top offer a great textural component. Just make sure to make reservations otherwise you might not get a table for the night!

If you are near downtown Munich, this place is an absolute must. Get ready. It's busy. But for good reasons. The ambience is warm, decoration is spot on and very Bavarian, the waiters are friendly. Unfortunately, they were understaffed, so the end of the night was slow, but I decided not to hold it against them because the food was amazing. If it's your first time, your must try the ox dish ("Du Ochs"). The meat is juicy, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fried onions and potatoes complement the dish well and the sauce makes the whole thing exceptional. Put simply, don't judge German cooking until you've tried this. Our waiter was warm and gave us good suggestions. He was just dealing with a lot of customers. It's not surprising, however, given the quality of the food we got. Also, if you don't speak German, the staff speaks English well and they also have menus in English, so the place is very tourist-friendly.

Great place close to our hotel. Beer made on premises and the staff was friendly. Service was good but the ambiance was excellent! No complaints, I would go back again!

It's a busy spot in a hotel so def make a reservation. They brew their own beer and make their own bread. Ambiance is cool, it's a much bigger space then it looks from the outside. Don't be surprised if they seat you a table larger then your party requires and then ask if they can seat more people at the other end. Spaetzle was their version of Mac and cheese, perfectly gooey with some crispy fried onions on top to add another dimension of flavor and texture. It came with a small salad in a mason jar that had a wheat beer vinaigrette. The brats were def more of a European style then we get in the states. The flavor was nice but be ready for big chucks of spice seeds inside.

    Veal, potatoes & sauerkraut

What an awesome surprise just down the street from our hotel. I got the chicken with dumplings and mushroom sauces, everything was so good. My husband got the veal with Potatoes and sauerkraut and it was so tender. We did their version of flights getting .1l of each the Dunkels, Weissbrau, and Helles. All were good, but I preferred the Helles. This is a must go! What made it even more special was Josef our waiter. Outstanding service explaining every detail and even showing us other meals. Yum!

After a full day of travel we were ready for some German food and beer. Based on a good rating on multiple sites, we gave this place a try and were not one bit disappointed. I had the lager and it was absolutely tasty, with a oaty aftertaste; plain delicious and at a great price for a 12 oz (€3.40). For dinner I had the schnitzel, which was served with cranberry sauce and fresh cut French fries. The schnitzel was crispy and tender, while the sauce was the right amount of sweet. The brew pub was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the front part of restaurant was very vibrant when we walked in. It seems this might be a place that sometimes requires reservations, so check ahead. If that fails, there's 3-4 seats at the bar. While we didn't check it out, there's also an outdoor area, though it was closed while we were there. As for the neighborhood this brew house is located in, some nearby stores are certainly a bit sketchy, but don't let that put you off. Check out Schiller's!

Excellent restaurant near the train station in Munich. It didn't look like much from outside but if you wander in the welcoming dining area stretches back a way. Service was friendly, atmosphere was lively, and the food was wonderful. I would definitely return if I go back to Munich.

For my final night in town, I wanted to make sure that I had a great meal with some tasty beers. After seeing several recommendations and reviews, I decided that this would be the place to go. I am so happy that i did choose to come here as everything was excellent. I was also glad that I made a reservation ahead of time. My table was waiting for me when I arrived. I started the evening off with their 5 beer flight. You get their four beers plus the beer of the month. They all were so good. I also enjoyed a pretzel and three spreads with the beers. The dinner options all looked so good. But since I had not had schnitzel since I had been in Germany, I had to order it. It was so good! Besides having excellent beer and food, the staff was also so helpful and friendly. I look forward to coming back here again.

Opens at 4pm. How convenient if you happen to be on a weird schedule and wanted a drink with great food. Great beer and light dishes. Hearty beef soup and dumplings. Light veggie dish.

Schnitzel (pork cutlet) with fries. Beer was delicious too!

Great service and atmosphere. The beer is some of if not the best in Munich. The sausages are delicious.

The service was mediocre, and the schnitzel was greasy. I think there are many other choices in Munich.

We waited a bit outside - maybe about 15 minutes before we were given a table. Our waitress was great, but it was very obvious that they had a lot of tables to take care of in the extremely giant beer hall. If you need anything after you order and in between getting your food and paying, you'll need to wait a while. That being said, I think we're just used to extremely fast service in NYC. I had the Pork knuckle which was a whole roasted pork knuckle with home-made dark beer sauce and potato dumpling. We also had the Crispy roast pork with home-made dark beer sauce and potato dumpling. Both were excellent and the beer was also quite good. I had their signature wheat beer and then an Oktoberfest beer (because why not) and really enjoyed it. I do think I liked their signature wheat beer better, and would've gotten another one of those over the Oktoberfest one.

We got right in after maybe a 5 min wait and we were seated quickly tomorrow private table upstairs. There were 5 of us so it was very spacious and not too loud. We enjoyed beer and wine first and then we enjoyed several dishes that are in the pictures here. All were very good as most food in Munich at these restaurants is. Our server was very polite and she took our orders and suggested some items as well. Food came without too much delay and was very tasty. We stayed and enjoyed for at least 2 hours then back to the festivities once they cleared the bomb threat and started letting everyone back in. If you're in Munich for any reason - Schneider is a great place for some beer, wine and german food! Keep Munching!

It was a Monday evening in September, so the weather was nice, but it wasn't particularly crowded. The beers there were good (you know, for traditional German beers, so tasty but not overly inventive). The food was meat meat meat meat meat, which kind of sucked. My non-German colleagues were all surprised by how many different potato possibilities there were. I'm vegan, but they luckily has a jackfruit goulash which was really good. It was mislabeled as vegan but with dairy, so I had to get some clarification on what it actually was, but once they confirmed that it didn't have dairy, all good. Of the like half a dozen potato dishes, only one was vegan, which was sort of disappointing, but it was fine. There were some other veggies and a vegan salad, plus bread. So I definitely didn't leave hungry at all. Unfortunately, there were no vegan dessert options, but my colleagues at least got to enjoy theirs. All in all, I had a really nice time. The lack of many options to choose from made me a bit sad, but luckily the vegan dinner option was mega good (and places that serve mushrooms as the vegan option should take note). It was creative and done well. (Though it's normally 24 euros, and I don't think I'd pay that much for it.) If you like meat and nice beer gardens, check this spot out. Or if you're looking for a company spot that accommodates most diets and has a traditional Bavarian vibe, this spot is great.

I'm by no means a teetotaler, but I'm much less of a beer enthusiast than I was in my college days. Embarrassingly enough, I wasn't even sure what a Weizenbock was exactly. If you're like me, fear not as I'll briefly explain. It's a strong German wheat beer that mixes the rich, fruity, and spicy notes of a Hefeweizen (traditional wheat beer) with the robust maltiness of a Bock, creating a full-bodied, flavorful ale with a higher alcohol content (7.1% ABV in this specific case) and a signature fluffy head. Their flavor typically features bready, toasty, and fruity (banana, clove) aromas and flavors, with darker versions adding caramel and deeper malt notes. According to the bottle, Ayinger's brew is advertised as a pale, robust, spicy wheat ale. The spicy description turned me off, but while I could detect a hint of it, it was not overly so. Pouring the bottle into my glass revealed a hazy, pale golden color. It was a bit dry, boozy, but extremely drinkable and smooth. Coming from a guy that doesn't like many beers, this was a good one. Not very bitter and sweet (for a beer) from the hints of fruit. Doughboy approved. Doughboy_Food_Reviews
