    Braumeisterschnitzel

One of the best meals I've had in Munich! I love the atmosphere of the restaurant, with large wide open spaces of wooden tables, hops greenery hanging from the ceiling, and a happy energy pouring out of every corner. The menu is filled with a wide variety of German classics, but with a unique flavor that elevates the dish. I ordered the Braumeisterschnitzel and it was incredible! It included 2 different tender pork schnitzel patties, one with grains batter and another with a beer cheese glaze. They are on top of chopped onions, peppers, and other root veggies soaking within a beer sauce gravy. To top it off, they also include gnocchi that balances the dishes. All of it was incredible and so flavorful! It was super filling too and well worth the price. As a drink, I ordered the basil radler. It had an extremely unique flavor, with a savory and refreshing aftertaste. Everything was great, from the food to service to atmosphere!

This local Munich brewery is in my husband's top 2 favorites, so we were excited to try it in person! It's a huge building! They had 3 beer styles to choose from, and one was brewed in house. It was fresh and good. Service was a little spotty due to big groups. It took a while to get menus and then a longer while to get drinks. But it's a must-stop in Munich!

Really liked this place, since I had had the pork knuckle a few times already I opted for a Bavarian Burger, which I saw at another table and it looked amazing and while I am an American who has plenty of access to good burgers I went for it. Natrually I had a nice stine or beer to go with it which was great. I asked the waiter for a side salad instead of the fries, he wouldn't do it. Told me that his fries were the best I would have ever had so he insisted. Well he didn't lie, they were amazing. Higly recommended

    Their lunch menu for German

They purposely give us the dinner menu for lunch so we pay almost double than their lunch menu, and their lunch menu is only in German so no one knows that is a lunch menu if you don't read German. That is a lot of nice restaurants near Old Town, I feel the host / waiter is discriminate English speaking tourist, not even one to tell us that is lunch menu available and just show us the different one. And yes they speak very good English, their food is only 2 star, beef is dry and I had better in other Munich restaurants.

Fun bierhaus in Munich to eat local flavors plus Paulaner beer is top shelf. There is an outside garden, however on a rainy day, eating inside was the norm. I would say Munich has returned to normal and is open for business, we came a Thursday and reservations were required to get in. Prompt service and good food. The biermeisterschnitzel was delicious. I have had plenty of the traditional fried schnitzel but this was a great change. The malt is crunchy and the mustard sauce adds great flavor. The pretzels we ordered first came to the table HOT, freshly prepared. Great casual evening in a local environment.

Regensburger wurstsalat. Very good but not what I thought it'd be.

Solid beer and solid food choices. The salad I had wasn't what I expected, but tasted just as good as what I imagined it'd be. So many sausage slices, I was very full after and I rarely get full from any salad. The combination of red onions, cucumbers and vinegar dressing was such a compliment to my beer!

BEAUTIFUL beer hall! This place is so nice! The interior, taps for beer and even the bathrooms!! First place I stopped after landing in Munich from LA. Near by my airbnb, stopped in for lunch. The staff was semi-friendly at first when they knew we were Americans but after rounds of beer - they grew to like us. Food was awesome and quality! On the expensive side but you can tell why (or see in my pics) We didn't head out to the bier garden but wish we would of if we had more time before our tour. Would recommend and visit again!

    Loved it.

Came for Oktoberfest, and loved every second of it. Even the service was good, these German broads were not F'ing around. Food was simple German flare , but it worked. The music was a lot of 80's hits, so we didn't mind. Oh , and the beer was awesome.

If I died and went to some sort of Biergarten heaven, Paulaner Bräuhaus would be that heaven. It's a Bavarian dream! The staff is adorned in the traditional German garb. The beers are flowing, everyone is laughing and carrying on! It was the perfect start to Oktoberfest weekend. The food? Omg the food! Get the sampler platter perfect for larger parties. And the goulash? Home freaking run my friends. Love this place!

Went here for the first time yesterday and really liked the place. The ambience is lovely and the place is spacious. There is a brewery in the building where, they brew a Weißbier and Starkbier / Bockbier. The copper tanks are immaculate and the pipes and delivery lines are also nice and shiny :-) I am personally not a fan of Paulaner, however, the fresh brewed Weißbier is really nice. The Starkbier brewed here is not the same that is served at Nockherberg and also not so potent (7.6% alcohol vs 10 or 11% at Nockherberg). I must admit I did not like the Starkbier here, as much as I did at Nockherberg. It's nice but nothing to write home about. The saving grace is that it is brewed on premise. Food menu here is extensive and the food is presented really well. I had the Brotzeitdaube (dinner plate with lots of different cheeses, cold cuts and Obatzda) and it was really nice. The Brezn was also soft and chewy and wonderful. Most of the people in our group ate and almost all of them were raving about the taste. It's mostly Bavarian fare. Unlike some of the other Brauhaus'es in the city this is not party central but I would imagine when the biergarten opens in the warmer months the atmosphere would be quite good. Happily come back here if not for the bier, for the food and ambience :-))

This was our first stop on our Germany tour and we had an amazing time. The waiter was patient with my butchered German and the beer and food were AMAZING. I got the duck and it was to die for. The skin was perfectly crunchy and the sauce was heavenly. Would recommend to any tourist who wants an awesome beer garden experience.

Where to begin. Let's start with the atmosphere. The atmosphere has great potential however on a Saturday night they were moderately busy and yet lacked the energy. Good space but wasn't used due to the lack of customers. The beer was great. We ordered their Oktoberfest beer and 2 pretzels. The pretzels were better than Augustiner. The staff was quick and friendly. Would definitely suggest coming for a visit. But Augustiner and Hofbräuhaus certainly has a better vibe and product overall.

We had the whole experience here: the brewery tour followed by lunch and beer in the beer garden. The brewery tour started out great. They immediately sat us down and poured us full glasses of beer for a "tasting." I had 3 beers in front of me at one point, all before 11 am. Having finished most of them, I felt fine as we began the tour, creeping through the dark recesses of the brewery, past tanks and tubes. I must admit, I didn't take in any of the detailed information our affable guide provided us. So for me, it just went on and on, for 90 minutes, and once the beer wore off, I was bored to tears. Plus the rooms we went in ranged from very hot (90 degrees) to freezing. Up and down stairs we trudged, listening to endless details about the brewing process. I couldn't wait for it to end. When at last it did, we walked to the nice Paulaner beer garden for lunch. More beer came to us, which was delicious, but really knocked me out in the warm sunlight. And when my Bavarian sampler plate showed up, with heaps of meat overflowing the plate, I could barely make a dent. And none of it was all that tasty, honestly. If I had to do it again, I'd skip the tour (or maybe duck out after the sampling) and have less meat for lunch. As a place to sit and enjoy a beer, the beer garden was very nice.

We waited a bit outside - maybe about 15 minutes before we were given a table. Our waitress was great, but it was very obvious that they had a lot of tables to take care of in the extremely giant beer hall. If you need anything after you order and in between getting your food and paying, you'll need to wait a while. That being said, I think we're just used to extremely fast service in NYC. I had the Pork knuckle which was a whole roasted pork knuckle with home-made dark beer sauce and potato dumpling. We also had the Crispy roast pork with home-made dark beer sauce and potato dumpling. Both were excellent and the beer was also quite good. I had their signature wheat beer and then an Oktoberfest beer (because why not) and really enjoyed it. I do think I liked their signature wheat beer better, and would've gotten another one of those over the Oktoberfest one.

We got right in after maybe a 5 min wait and we were seated quickly tomorrow private table upstairs. There were 5 of us so it was very spacious and not too loud. We enjoyed beer and wine first and then we enjoyed several dishes that are in the pictures here. All were very good as most food in Munich at these restaurants is. Our server was very polite and she took our orders and suggested some items as well. Food came without too much delay and was very tasty. We stayed and enjoyed for at least 2 hours then back to the festivities once they cleared the bomb threat and started letting everyone back in. If you're in Munich for any reason - Schneider is a great place for some beer, wine and german food! Keep Munching!

Its continuing legacy manifests as an astonishing German loyalty to their own beers, the scarcity of foreign beers, and the long shadow it casts on any domestic craft brewing. Still, if you look, microbrews exist and Tap House is a great place to find some. Modeled after American craft beer pubs, it captures the style in a dark wood look, with an impressively long bar alongside a row of bar-high tables with benches. The nearly two dozen taps heavily feature Camba Bavaria beers, a prolific domestic craft brewer that not only experiments with innovative and decidedly un-German styles, but also brews classic German styles consistent with Reinheitsgebot. Other taps and the extensive bottle list feature European microbrews, offering a wide range of styles, including sours. There's a good Belgian classics section, and a few Mikkeller's from neighboring Denmark. All served in appropriate glassware. Food and snacks are basic and unremarkable. The "tapas" platter is a bread/pretzel basket and six jars of accompaniments: prosciutto, pepperoni, slaw, diced tomatoes/onions, and two dips. Pizza was light, essentially thin flatbread. Peanuts, in a generous portion, came in a paper cone. Chips are a bag of chips, balsamic vinegar-flavored. Well worth visiting for a break from classic German beer styles to try some German microbrews, but aside from a snack, plan on eating elsewhere.

Waiters didn't really speak English, but that's OK because the people around you can help you translate the menu items -or- better yet, recommend you certain items to get. Restaurant is totally communal style--you sit with strangers, drink beer next to them, chat with them, and be merry with them. Ahh! The German way of life. Sigourney had the cheese spatzle that came out piping hot in a mini cast iron skillet. The cheese was perfectly melted on top of the spatzle. I had a bite and I can frankly say it was the best spatzle I've ever had in my life. No other German restaurants I've been to in the States compares to the spatzle in Germany, and especially at this restaurant! It was superb...well flavored, cheesy, and definitely a treat to eat. Sigourney thought it was very good. I ordered the schweinhaxe, the roasted pork knuckle--which one of Bavaria's signature dishes. It too was absolutely delicious. The skin on the outer pork knuckle was perfectly crisp, while maintaining the soft, juicy, tender pork meat underneath. For those who have never had schweinhaxe, it's a lot like Chinese style "pig's feet" (it essentially is the same pork body part), but crispy, salty, and well.."European" tasting. We couldn't really read most of the menu, and fortunately for us, Bavarians are very nice and willing to help. A jolly, tall German man content with his beer in hand helped us translate some of the menu items and recommended certain beers on their EXTENSIVE list. I was really glad he was there since we got to eat some of the best items on their menu, as recommended by him. Next time I'm in Munich, I'll probably swing by here again to eat some hearty Bavarian food! Delish!!!!
