Awesome pizza here! I used to go to Joe's in Shirley (still do on occasions) but lately, their pizza crust has been very thick and doughy. Started going to the StopNShop next door, and found Gia's in Yaphank! I don't know what they do but their pizza crust is consistently perfect and tasty! Every time I come to Cafe Gia I have to get a Sicilian and chicken parm slice. They have the best Sicilian I've had in a while and definitely the best in the area. Cafe Gia is pretty close to my parents' house, so I have a tendency to stop in here to get myself lunch. Their pizza and garlic knots are on point, and their chicken rolls are a must-try! In regards to their pizza service - it's quick, even during the busiest lunch and dinner hours. I've never waited there more than 5-7 minutes; that's pretty solid in my book. They do have a dining room, as well, where you can sit down and enjoy a pretty decent Italian meal with your friends or family. It's their dining service, however, that forced me to deduct two stars. I've needed to allot myself almost two hours of my evening just to have dinner here because they were traditionally slow as molasses in getting dishes to the table. The hostesses and waiting staff need to work on their professionalism, as well. They have a tendency to rub me the wrong way. What happened to Cafe Gia? Used to be a go-to in the neighborhood but service and quality seems to have gone downhill. Ordered some salads to go, found they were not dressed when I got them home. Caesar/antipasto salads with no dressing? They also used to give a little bread with their salads which I've noticed is no longer. Called to simply inform them of the mistake, was not asking for anything, and was told they don't come standard with dressing. When I told the man on the phone I have purchased these previously and knew that wasn't accurate he changed his response to "oh it's pre-mixed". So, which is it? The dishonesty seemed unnecessary. Stopped in Friday night for a quick dinner of just appetizers. It wasn't that busy. We ordered two slices, baked clams, and a rice ball. The waiter came back 10-minutes later with the rice ball and one slice; not two, informed us that they didn't have clams. No big deal, we swapped it for something else. The slice was burnt; daughter didn't want to eat it. The rice ball was delicious! The waiter came back 15-minutes later, with the baked clams they didn't have, so we canceled the "something else" we ordered. He was confused about our cancellation. The baked clams were decent. We reminded him about the missing second slice. The waiter never came back after that, so no second slice for us. We had to ask someone else for the bill, which of course had the second slice on it. That was 20-minutes after we finished eating. We love Cafe Gia, and we'll be back for sure. It's just disappointing to go to a restaurant you know has good food and to receive crappy service. I could understand if he took an order for ten people and a few things got mixed up, but we literally ordered four items. There's one other thing that is disappointing. Their bread basket is DELICIOUS! But they leave you with FROZEN butter. FROZEN! Keep the damn butter packets in the refrigerator, please! read more

Ordered a small house salad with grilled chicken. The house vinaigrette is excellent, please keep it the same. The salad is a mix of iceberg/romaine/field greens with cucumber, tomato, olives of different types, and sliced red onion. It's great, however, the grilled chicken pieces were too burnt for my liking. The rival for this salad is definitely Mama Lisa in Mastic, Mama Lisa serves their marinated grilled chicken nice and hot right on top of the salad, and it's perfectly cooked. You'll have to perfect the grilled chicken in order to have a chance at surpassing Mama Lisa's house salad, which is basically a 5-star salad in my opinion. It's all about the chicken and the house vinaigrette. Keep up the good work, but, please stop burning the grilled chicken. read more

This is both a Pizzaria as well as a full service sit-down Italian Resturant. You can not go wrong with whatever your budget or time allows for! We usually stop in for the pizzaria and every so often we will have a full Italian dine-in dinner when time allows. We did have a nice sit down dinner there last week...just myself and my wife. My wife ordered the Chicken Francaise..I ordered one of the specials for the day....Grilled Chicken and Egg Plant and richottia cheese over fresh made Riggatoni! Our meals were terrific as always!!! In addition...this is our "go to" local Pizzeria. We usually have something from here at least once a week. The specialty pies are great! They usually have 8-10 different specialty pies available to get by the slice. My oldest sons favorite is the Buffalo Chicken slice, mine is the White Spiniach or the Chicken Parm slice, my wife loves the Grand Ma slice or a corner Sicilain, my youngest gets the Pepperoni or when then feeling strikes...the Taco Slice! We have had hero's here and they are equally delicious! I do have to say that this is one of the favorite place to pick up pies when we get together with friends as well. Tried this place the other night, got a plain pie. I am a pizza connoisseur and saw good reviews but I was very disappointed. Maybe it was an off night but the pizza crust was burnt on the bottom and very thin, the sauce was very sweet and bland. The whole pie was bland besides the taste of burnt crust :-/. my mom placed an order at quater till 6, told us it would be about 25 minutes. we ordered 3 dinners, an appetizer, and a pie. my mom and i go in and only the dinners are finished the pie was not put into the oven yet. you need to get timings right and keep your mouths shut, and explain your sorry to customers. you dont claim to a customer, who heard an employee laugh at a comment my mom made, that no one laughed. you apologise for the shit and deal with it without a customer around. during these covid times you should be greatful to even get customers. some companies had to completely shut down and are not reopening. read more

My second visit here with my kids. Not sure what changed but the pizza wasn't nearly as good this time around. It was a bit overcooked, and there wasn't as much cheese on the pie, so there were a lot of places where sauce showed through. While most pizza I've had in other places, the top is mostly white with cheese, this pie was orange. The other issue was our waiter. He was nice enough, but once the pizza came, he was nowhere to be found. He served us each a slice, but 15 minutes later he hadn't come back to make sure everything was ok, and my kids and I were all in need of drink refills. I've ate here and also have had take out from here, too. The last time I stayed and ate it was for the restaurant and the food was very good. I had the chicken Alfredo. They don't have farfalle (bow tie) pasta. The pizza from take out is really good. Not a thickened dough but also not paper thin. And the right amount of cheese and sauce. The regular slices as well as pepperoni have a good balance every time. The one thing I'm not a fan of is the buffalo chicken speciality slice. Another Pizza night and Cafe Gia was the place of choice. We went with a Sicilian pie and this was very good. the sauce had more taste, you really got the tomato acidity this time. Good coverage on the sausage and peperoni and a decent layer of cheese. I only wish the pepperoni had a better spice note to it, but this was quickly rectified with some red pepper.
