What a joke!! I can't figure out how they stay in business! They serve there dishes on plastic plates ....and the food is not up to par .... Changes need to be made ...

Chicken Parm with spaghetti was delicious

We have been living in Mastic Beach for about 5 years and today was the 1st time we went to Onofrio's. It is a small restaurant with a small parking space. Reservations are not required but they are recommended. When we got there at 6, it was busy but we were able to be seated right away. We started with the garlic bread which was good. Then we got the Cheese Pizza Pie and we enjoyed it. You can purchase a pie with your choice of toppings but we just got it with cheese. Then we had the baked clams which I really enjoyed. Our entree came with either soup or salad. I chose the soup, and the soup of the day was clam chowder. I've tried many clam chowders and I really didn't like this one. It was salty and didn't really taste like clam chowder. Next time, I would choose the salad or maybe try another kind of soup. We then had chicken parm with spaghetti was delicious and so was the lasagna. We drank water but the everyone from the table next to us ordered the homemade Ice Tea which I would like to try next time. Also, I saw another table order the Mussels and they looked so goooood. I would definitely go back to try those. Staff was friendly. It was a little quiet in there, maybe some music would be nice. I think they do play music but not sure at what time. Prices are also reasonable! Especially with things being so expensive nowadays.

Outstanding old-fashioned Italian cuisine in a cozy environment with live entertainment on the weekends. Perfect local restaurant for any occasion!

We haven't been to this restaurant in years- we moved out of the area. The food was always great. We moved back into the area decided to go to Onofrio's for dinner. There was only 1 other couple in the restaurant at the time-and they were served dinner. As we were ordering, two other couples were seated. We saw this and ordered quickly. I believe our waiter ( and only waiter) was inexperienced. I'll make this short. The waiter was serving salads to another couple. So we asked for out salad- it was fresh and tasted very good. No appetizers yet- waited and waited. Finally it gets there - tasted ok. Nothing great nothing bad. Still no dinner after 90+ minutes. One couple started to eat dinner. We ordered eggplant parm. Finally, we asked it to go. 2 hours and no dinner. BS. It took 15 minutes after we asked for the check. Then, he didn't have a pen. Another 4 minutes. Too much, I had to go BTW- we had the dinner the next night and the food was excellent! This was on a Tuesday night I believe. Hopefully, they have different staff on the weekend. We might go back, but not for awhile. Maybe do a takeout.

I love the pizza here. It's my favorite pizza, it's a unique crust that's crisp and buttery, a sweet sauce.

The home made Creamy Italian salad dressing is out of this world. The best I've ever tasted.

Fried Calamari with zucchini is melt-in-your-mouth tender, brick oven pizza's are BETTER than Rome. Fillet Mignon Au Poivre is the best I've ever had, as is the Branzino! But my favorite is the Chicken Dijonaise. It's been on the menu for over 25 years for a reason! Cocktails are expertly prepared, and the service is professional. If you have to wait a bit for your food to come out, that's a good thing! Sit, chill, put your phone down and enjoy your family. Have a conversation, and let them cook. Bravo, (as usual) La Volpe!

One of the worst dining experiences we've had in a very long time…read more My family has been coming to this restaurant for 20 years since they opened and before this, to Anton's when they were just a small pizzeria in the King Kullen shopping center. We've celebrated holidays here, hosted parties here, and have always spoken highly of it--which made this experience even more disappointing. We took my mother out for Mother's Day shortly after my father passed away, hoping for a nice family meal. Instead, we were treated terribly from start to finish. We were seated late at a cramped table for three, despite having a reservation. Our server, J***, didn't check on us the entire evening. She didn't tell us the specials until we specifically asked, and then responded sarcastically with, "Oh, you want to hear the specials?" It took an hour just to receive appetizers, and no server initially came over to take our order until we spoke to the mother of the owners, who we didn't see at all. My husband and I would always talk to one of the brothers. We waited excessively for simple things like sweetener and iced tea. At one point, a young staff member told us there was no sweetener available at all. It honestly felt like our server may have been pulled from another role just to "help out," because the service was so disorganized. What made it worse was the complete lack of professionalism from the front staff. The two people seating guests looked miserable and unfriendly. It was apparent they were probably family, because they had no qualms about doing their jobs badly. When we raised concerns, one of the two unhappy women--who was extremely cold and dismissive--actually told us that she waits three hours when she goes out to eat, as though that somehow excused our experience. We also noticed staff talking about us, which was incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable. What was most frustrating was seeing groups of employees standing around while service was clearly falling apart. Being busy is understandable--(it was used as an excuse for everything going wrong), especially on Mother's Day--but after 20 years in business, a restaurant should know how to handle a busy night without everything unraveling. The food was disappointing as well--my veal was tough--and at no point did anyone apologize, offer any gesture of goodwill (not even a complimentary coffee), or acknowledge how poorly our evening had gone. Not even a simple "Happy Mother's Day" or goodbye as we left and we walked right by the cold, dismissive woman. The actual only highlight of our evening was when a wonderful server named Iverson came over to finish up with us, because clearly having to ask our server for sweetener three times forced her to have a possible meltdown? Unfortunately it was way too late, the damage had already been done. Now that's a charming individual, who is great with people! It certainly would have helped make a difference in our experience. This was especially heartbreaking because this restaurant has meant something to our family for years. Sadly, after this experience, we won't be returning. There are too many other restaurants that know how to treat loyal customers with respect.

View of water was nice, and even better nice sunset. Service was excellent, we had a very attentive waitress. Did not have to wait too long for our food. We ended up doing all specials. Somehow we had room for dessert. We ordered the RAINBOW COOKIE ICE CREAM SUNDAE for two. When that arrived, our jaws dropped. Thing was huge. More than enough for two people. And so dangerously good. My children took us here for our anniversary and refused to tell us before hand the name of the restaurant. So getting to it is a long drive down a road with gated homes until you reach the end and a waterfront restaurant. My daughter made the reservation and for us to sit on the patio. At first I was concerned because it has been very hot lately and the sun was strong. Well have no fear. Tables have large umbrellas and early evening gave us a gentle breeze. Okay the food: we all had something different and everyone mentioned how good it was. Another step back... They have valet parking which set the perfect mood for me. So my wife had chicken parm. Please forgive her. Not that it wasn't good, but a waterfront restaurant specializing in seafood. Come on my love. I had flounder encrusted with lobster. Beyond heavenly. Oh yes we shared baked clams. OMG. We usually judge a new restaurant by their baked clams and these were on point. The bill: I have no idea. My kids paid . It brought me to tears. When we have dinner out with the kids I always pay so this made me delirious. Finally the views. Spectacular just spectacular. Yes I recommend ITA and I will definitely by back. Unfortunately I'll be paying but it will be worth it.

I would definitely come back to this restaurant and look forward to sitting on the patio when the warmer weather arrives.
