Restaurant offers some of the best tasting pizza I have eaten in a long time. Aside from the basic cheese slices there are a good selection of specialty slices to satisfy any appetite. Service is friendly and the price structure is a little above average pizza slice pricing elsewhere. I'd suggest taking on the go or weather permitting seat outside as the in dining area is extremely small and confining plus you are a stones throw away from both the front door and counter area. There is a dining area with table service in the rear of the restaurant that provides a more conducive experience for those choosing that dining option. Located near the AMC Theater it does get busy with movie goers ( I went on a Saturday) but there is plenty of parking. Overall great tasting pizza at reasonable prices. read more

We had dinner here before the movies. Great service and great food! My espresso martini was perfect! This place gets pretty packed quickly. It has a lot of tables almost everywhere. It felt like I went through a maze to get to the bathroom. It seems like they have a lot of regulars from conversations I overheard. They provided bread for the table. 1/26/25 update: Another awesome dinner at O Sole Mio. Tonight I had a craving for linguini garlic oil & anchovies. I insisted that the do not use any broth when making the dish. The dish came out perfectly!!!! I enjoyed it so much and told the waiter that it was too good to eat in one sitting so I had him wrap the second half it up. The linguini was aldente and the garlic had a nice roasted flavor and was creamy soft! My wife had the Cavatelli Roselle with mushrooms, subdued tomatoes, asparagus and spinach. She said it was amazing! For the appetizer, she ordered the honey spice cauliflower which she loved! It looked like sesame chicken too! lol. Manuel did a great job working out table! read more

Neighborhood pizzeria's are my jam. This one is in a strip mall but was busy for lunch so it must be good. The grandpa square was lovely. The thin square also had a crunch to hit that was hard not to like. They have all sorts of specialty sliced as well. The dining room was busy for lunch which is a good sign. Went back to this pizzeria in stony brook. Best part is they have alot of gluten free dishes which it was a PLUS! Usually their basket of bread comes with fresh garlic bread, other types of bread and usually their garlic bread was delicious but this time it tasted stale , but the other slice bread was delicious. Came with olive oil, olives, roasted garlic to dip your bread in. Their dishes were huge. Even bf couldn't even finish it. This is one of my favorite pizza/restaurants on Long Island and I've been coming here for years and never been disappointed. To start the restaurant is super quiet and nice, staff is helpful and quick to take orders and bring delicious food to the table. Portions are huge, I never leave without a take out box. This time we stopped by for lunch and ordered a variety of items, we tried the bolognese that came with a delicious cup of pasta fragiole soup! The Italian submarine was tasty and packed with meats, slice of pepperoni pizza and my usual order of the veggie Stromboli served with a side of marinara sauce. Disclaimer: I usually do not like eating out for Italian food. This is a cute Italian spot in LI with so many options. It took me a while to choose what I wanted because of the sheer number of options to choose from. The starter bread may have been the best part- they gave us flatbreads, garlic knots, and something else I can't recall. As for my main dish, I ended up getting the parpadelle, which was delicious BUT I thought it was very very salty. Portion sizes were huge, so I had some leftovers for the next day. Came here for lunch and got a grandma and a grandma with breadcrumbs. This is not my first time having O Sole Mio--the catering has been a staple parties for years. Was a little disappointed with this visit. The slices were barely heated up, leaving some parts cold. We used to enjoy dining here a couple of years ago, but our recent visit was very disappointing. The quality of the food has noticeably declined. The sauce tasted bland--like it came straight from a can of tomato sauce and the shrimp bisque was lacking real seafood flavor and seemed the soup was just tomato soup with some shrimp and spinach tossed in last minute. My husband ordered the veal with capers and lemon garlic sauce. While the portion was very small 2 thin slices the flavor just didn't justify the $30 price tag. Overall, the food felt mediocre and uninspired. Service was okay, but not enough to make up for the underwhelming meal. For a $135 dinner for two, we expected much better. Sadly, the restaurant has changed--and not for the better. We won't be returning. Let me know if you'd like it to sound more casual, more critical, or a little softer in tone. read more

Forgive my semi-belated review of O Sole Mio. It has nothing to do with the place not being tasty and enjoyable, but rather that my Yelping has gotten more sporadic lately, and for that I apologize. You see, my trip to this tasty Italian spot happened back at the beginning of 2023, but the flavors are still fresh in my mind. To be honest, my first experience with Mio was rather mixed. We (my wife and I) had purchased a Too Good to Go deal with them and found a box of meh slices of pizza. Nothing was terrible, but nothing was that great either (hence the leftovers feel of TGTG). I'd probably have waited a lot longer to return here, but the wifey got a gift card from her job for O Sole and so we decided why not give them another (fresher) shot. We did just that on a semi-bustling Thursday night in January. The interior of O Sole Mio isn't vast or exotic, but they have a bright and vibrant theme at play which does enough to liven up their space. Perhaps they aren't vast in size because they save that for their menu. O Sole has plenty of Italian dishes to choose from with many of them sounding like unique and potentially original options. Case in point would be the Pollo Mona Lisa (my order choice). This took chicken and rolled/stuffed it with prosciutto, provolone and mozzarella cheese. It was then lightly breaded, fried and served in a pink cream sauce. Flavorful stuff for sure with the cream sauce potentially being my favorite part of the dish. The wife went more simple and had chicken Francese which I tried a piece of and found it to be tender and a bit tangy as it should be. Pasta also came with these dishes on the side which was a nice touch, as was the bread basket and olive oil dipping plate (with actual olives in it). I'd say the food as a whole was near a five star spot with service coming in a little behind that. Our waiter was totally nice, though not really present once the food was ordered. And the price of things? Not horrible, but also not necessarily cheap either. I'm glad we had a gift card to take a tiny portion of the total bill down. Overall, O Sole Mio is worthy of a trip, gift card or not. Perhaps their pizza is better than we initially experienced (we'll have to give it a genuine try), but either way, if you're looking for some quality Italian food in a semi-cozy and colorful spot then O Sole Mio won't steer you wrong. And now that everyone knows this, I should probably stop writing this review and go work on some other belated ones! read more

Have been here a few times and it is convenient. Today we came for lunch. Both my husband and I ordered sandwiches. The bread was really hard and was like day old bread. Hard to believe after they had severed us amazing rolls prior to our meal. I brought this to the waiters attention. He told be that paninis are always served on hard bread. My first time trying O Sole Mio and unfortunately it was a rather poor experience. Pros: - Food was tasty. - Plenty of parking since it is in a strip mall. - Great packaging for takeout. There was a good amount of sauce with our order and if it was packed differently, it could have resulted in a big mess in my car. Kudos to whomever wrapped my order! Cons: - Food was pricy! -- $26.99 for just (6) Butternut Squash Ravioli - Takeout quality was sub-par. -- Butternut squash felt either doughy or slightly undercooked. - Prices on website are inaccurate. -- Website say the butternut squash is $24.99, I was charged $26.99 and would have never known it was incorrect unless I had checked and called them to confirm this. - Pickup/Counter area is tight and disorganized. All this being said, I don't want to knock them completely based on my first impression. My wife loves getting their butternut squash ravioli for lunch (4 pieces at $13.99) and perhaps our experience would have been much different if we dined in. Don't think I'd order dinner takeout from here again... but I'd be willing to give them another shot for lunch or a sit-down. read more

The best pizza! I've tried a wide variety of their specialty pizzas and they all have a thin crust, flavorful sauce, and generous amount of cheese. My personal favorite from O Sole Mio are the salad pizzas. The chicken caesar is phenomenal and contains grilled chicken. It is filling and has the perfect ratio of salad to pizza crust. The service at the front is quick and they offer an option to warm up the pizzas. There are a few tables to sit inside if you pick up food from the front area, but they can be challenging to find unoccupied. I typically enjoy my meal in the outside seating area. read more

This time, I went around 9pm & it was empty so I decided to have a reg slice with a small cheese stick & small spinach pocket. All were good only wish the pizza was crispier on the bottom. I did ask him to leave it in the oven longer since I figured it was sitting out for a bit but it definitely wasn't long enough because it was still soft on the bottom but it was hot. So because time went by I went to pick up my pizza which now sat on top of the oven for over 45 minutes due to someone's negligence. Instead of making me a new pie they just handed me a pizza which was cold when I got it home. I get they were busy but the least they could have done was make a new pie. Last night my wife and I got takeout. We got two soups and two chicken cutlets Parmesan hero's. Each hero's were 27 dollars each that's unbelievable crazy. Both chicken cutlets hero's were horrible and cold. The chicken cutlets were hard and no sauce on the hero's. The soups were ok. But nothing to write home about. I never like leaving reviews like this but I need to share what happened to me so no one else has to go through what I'm going through. I've been so severely sick for days since having their salad slice for lunch four days ago. I would not point fingers if I didn't know for certain it was from here, but their food was the only food I had ate that day. My family ordered lunch to stay and dinner to go from here the same day, all different things, and I did not have breakfast or any other meals that day. The food is good (when you're eating it), the vibe is always nice and busy there, I never thought something like this would happen. I am now on antibiotics twice a day with nausea pills with the need for additional testing. Bacteria infection and/or parasites. I don't want to embarrass myself with the details of my symptoms but it's been days of consistent pain, discomfort, dehydration, nausea etc. Please avoid the salad pizzas at all costs, also had buffalo chicken slice.
