Fish Ball Soup lukewarm and bland, boiled beef brisket bland and over bed of bean sprouts, veggies bland. Awful meal.
Rita C H.

They're usually "average". Last night's family meal was a fail. Family meal is for 4 people. $33 is a very affordable price these days. But I suppose their low price is reflected on their foods quality. We ordered their March 4 family meal. It consisted of Fish Ball Soup, Garlic Chicken, Boiled Beef Brisket, and Seasonal Vegetables. All the items were lukewarm. Felt like the order probably had been sitting out for at least an hour. Fish Ball Soup was plain and flavorless. The napa cabbage was not fresh and the soup contained 4 fish balls. Each family member got one fish ball each. Garlic Chicken was the most flavorful of the meal and even that it was not the best. Boiled Beef Brisket was plain and flavorless and was over a bed of bean sprouts. We had to add some sauce to it to make it flavorful. 2/3 bean sprouts & 1/3 beef. There was no mention of bean sprouts on the menu. They really should've called it Boiled Beef Slices & Bean Sprouts. Seasonal Vegetables looked promising but it was also plain and flavorless. We had to add our own salt to make it tasty. It was so disappointing. Don't think we'll be ordering their family meals any time soon.

Love the salted egg pumpkin

Cafe Fusion has a large Taiwanese menu selection, and they offer free delivery for $65+ in many cities such as Pasadena, Glendale, Calabasas, Glendale, West LA, Torrance, Palos Verdes, and Porter Ranch. They offer prix fixe menu $50 that lets you pick 3 entrees, 1 soup, and rice. My favorites are the Taiwanese loofah with cherry shrimp 絲瓜, salted egg pumpkin 鹹蛋南瓜, 五更腸旺, three cups basil eggplants and tofu, and garlic "dragon whiskers" veggies. In general, deep fried food doesn't fare as well for takeout so go for stir fried, boiled, and marinated dishes instead. Their full menu is also available to choose from. They also sell frozen goods, fresh produce, and a few pantry soy sauces. Support woman owned business. They are very hardworking and delivering to many cities far away.

Their Ba bao Rice is very unpalatable, they put pumpkin seeds on it. I never heard anyone make ba bao rice with pumpkin seeds. and the vegetarian buns have no taste at all. If you eat them, you will wonder if you have the coronavirus. so be careful what you order at this restaurant.

4.7 stars for Cafe Fusion! They have awesome lunch special deals! I can't find milk fish anywhere else (and deboned at that). They have lots of options on their menu. Plus, their dishes are super authentically Taiwanese! Not too greasy either. Great food and great service! Definitely recommend it if you want to satisfy your Taiwanese food cravings.

Such a great find for authentic Taiwanese Good at Cafe Fusion! They currently have few tables outside in tents or offer to-go. The menu is impressive. It probably has few hundred different items in total! It spans from different protein items to vegetables. We had a group of 5 people but ordered 10 items haha The food was served in to-go containers so the leftover were easy to pack home. The portion of each item wasn't too big, so it was great to try out many dishes here. Few of my favorites - fried pumpkin with salted egg, boiled whole squid with five flavors sauce, tofu with bamboo shoots, and fried rice. Honestly, every dish here was so delicious. It was great to share with a group of friends. We can't wait to come back again!

Eel noodles & black chicken soup
Vivian C.

Very disappointed by the food, especially the portions at this restaurant. I never leave bad reviews on mom & pop shops like this, but I feel like I need to share my experience. The menu is very Taiwanese (I grew up in Taiwan), but the flavor is quite lacking. We got 2 black chicken soup and 2 eel noodles, and it came out to almost $50. The chicken soup is SO little for $6, and the eel noodles had so little eel, and the eel pieces were very mushy from being frozen. I want all the Taiwanese places to do well, but given there's so many restaurants in SGV that actually deliver great quality and prices, this place is at most 1.5 stars

Everything here is absolutely delicious and every dish is cooked perfectly. I highly recommend the fried pork. The meat is tender and juicy and pairs perfectly with a bowl of rice.

Introduction: Café Fusion is a rarity in Arcadia in the sense that in Arcadia very few good restaurants exist. The current Café Fusion is under new management; the original Owner of Café Fusion has relocated to the City of Industry. The old Café Fusion's culinary execution was okay when they first started out then the quality descends shortly after; the new Café Fusion's culinary execution is a lot better overall. The restaurant is predominantly Taiwanese with certain aspects of Asian Fusion. Within SGV, three legitimate Taiwanese restaurants exist: Kingschop in city of Industry, Golden Leaf in San Gabriel, and Café Fusion. Amongst the three, Café Fusion's the best. Golden Leaf's culinary execution is legitimate and on point but Café Fusion's approach is smoother and more refined. Foods: The things I have tried are as follows: Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetables: Café Fusion's pork belly with preserved vegetables is one of the best ones I have had thus far. The pork belly is lean at the bottom but without being dry; the upper layer of fat is not too fatty but rather adequately and satisfyingly so. The preserved vegetables are of good quality. This dish goes great when paired with rice. Sticky Rice with Dungeness Crab: The glutinous rice is flavorful and marinaded well. Each bite bear notes of shiitake mushroom, shredded pork, dry shrimp, and umami from the crab. The crab itself is relatively fresh. The price for this dish is $47 and it is on the pricier spectrum; it's best one orders this dish for a special occasion such as a potluck or party: guests will be delighted and the dish will surely turn some heads. Spicy Pork Intestine and Pork Blood in Pot: The spice level for this dish is adequate and mellow; it's not the kind of spiciness that's overly aggressive. It's flavorful and all the ingredients used are of good quality. I especially enjoy the pork blood: the texture of the blood is tender and soft while other establishments' pork blood tends to be over-cooked. Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetable Buns: Buns to Asians are as burgers are to non-Asians: we eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night snack. A good bun is hard to find: the skin has to be soft as opposed to rough, and the ingredients have to be fresh as well as of good quality. Too many establishments get the skin to ingredients ratio wrong; meaning there's too much skin relative to the amount of ingredients. Often the skin is rough too. In addition, usually the ingredients inside are of subpar quality. Café Fusion's pork belly with preserved vegetable buns are different. The skin of the buns is plump and soft. The pork inside the buns is fresh, tender, and succulent. The preserved vegetables are noticeably fresh as well. Chicken in Wine and Sesame Oil Soup with a side of thin noodles: The chicken in wine and sesame oil soup is legitimate. The taste of the wine is distinctly present and the sesame oil adds fragrance to the soup overall. The broth is flavorful, mellow, wholesome, and bears depth. One thing good about this soup is that it's not too oily. Ambiance: Casual Service: Adequate Price: Reasonable depending on what you get.

black cod fish (10/10 would recommend)
Tiffany H.

I've been here a couple of times and I always tend to forget about this gem! They have lots of options on their menu - which is always a plus. I came with my boyfriend and cousin and we ordered the braised pork, clams (salty IMO), black cod fish, and chinese celery with squid (wasn't a fan). The braised pork was SO tender and juicy. I was a little skeptical when it first came out as it was drenched in sauce, which I thought was going to be very salty. However, I was very impressed - I had to scoop extra sauce on my plate cause it was that good. I will definitely be ordering this again. The black cod fish was also a great decision of our dinner. I loved the way it was cooked and how much sauce it comes with. It'd be great with rice! All four dishes for about $100 - which I think is a steal for the quality and quantity of the food. I'll have to keep this restaurant in mind when I'm craving cheap and good food! Parking can be found on the back side of the restaurant. Service was mediocre as they took a little longer than expected to hand us menus.

On Saturday night a large group of us went to Cafe Fusion for some Taiwanese food. Cafe Fusion is consistently the best Taiwanese cuisine ( not street food ) in L.A. Always authentic always good. Arthur, the owner is always there and keeps the quality of his food up to standards. We ordered the following: Black Cod my favorite always great Smoked and steamed Goose Kidney in rice wine and vermicelli Three cups chittlins and tofu Okra A Choi Bitter melon with slated duck egg Fried sticky rice Make reservations if you have a large party, the lines to get a table at 7 pm are long. 5 bottles of wine and a table of great friends = great evening.

Spicy Fish Filet

We usually go out of TC/Arcadia to get Chinese food, but some places around here are worth a try. We found this place next to a Shanghai restaurant at the corner and decided to have lunch here. The seaweed with garlic small appetizer dish they give you is very garlicky but quite nice. Service was alright. They don't seem to really care about you, but then again, it's a Chinese place so I never expect stellar service. There was a lady who kept adjusting a little flower in a small white vase behind my seat. She looked to be an owner or manager. I really would not have even looked above me and cared whether or not there was a flower there, but whatever floats your boat. Spicy fish filet was alright. I've had better and the fish was a bit overcooked. Three cup chicken was not as flavorful and was very tender and not as dry as other places. I prefer a drier kind, so I wasn't impressed. You had to actually dip the chicken into the sauce and that's when the taste was pretty good. I really wouldn't pay that much for the dishes here that could really be made better at other places and cost less as well. Eh, not going to be back.

Came to the Rosemead location to celebrate a family member's birthday on a Friday evening. We were…read moreable to call ahead earlier in the morning and ask if we could be on the wait list or reserve a table. They told us they could reserve a table for us at 6pm. We originally were hoping for 7 or 7:30, but based on how busy and popular this place is I can see why they said no. Come early and get seated right away and there's still ample parking in their parking lot. By the time we left at 7:30p, the lot was packed and people circling around hoping to snag a spot from folks leaving. The restaurant is pretty large and has about 3 rooms with different size tables and booths. No matter the size of your party, there's a table that will accommodate. The staff were very nice and attentive and FAST! We had our food out probably 15 min after we put in our order! Now...on to the food. We ordered one of the set menus for our party of 7 and it was spot on! As you can see in the pictures we had all the "classics". Our set meal could easily be enjoyed by at least 10 people. We had so many leftovers! The food was all well prepared and sufficiently seasoned. Portions of each dish was plentiful and everyone will be able to get enough to satisfy. My favorite items: lobster (duh!), kung pao chicken, pork chops, and shaking beef. The seafood soup is a great starter, and don't forget to add a little vinegar and pepper! Great restaurant in the SGV. This location is much bigger than their Rowland Heights restaurant, but the food is exactly the same. This is a great alternative to the popular Newport Seafood, so don't sleep on this place!

Came at 530 pm on a tuesday, and there wasen't anyone here yet. Afterwards it filled up quickly!! The main thing I dont like about this place is they dont have the prices on what your ordering. Which I'll get too at the end. Like any other Chinese restaurant, their menu is super extensive. I love how they have a little bit of everything. And its very well organized too. We ordered the following: 1. Crab and fish maw soup- this soup was amazing. It was just the right temp. Got me sweating. Can easily feed 12 people. Great amount of maw. The consistency is just right. Tasted so good!! 2. Small lobster special- on a bed of noodles. It was about 5 lbs. Cooked well. Could do without. Basically flavors. And it was expensive!! About $30 a lb. So this one dish cost basically the same amount as all the other dishes. Which was just too much. If I knew it was that much I would definitely not have ordered it. 3. Walnut shrimp- not the best walnut shrimp I've had. But it was ok. 4. Garlic shrimp- this shrimp dish was ok. Too many bell peppers and onions. It was just ok. 5. Mongolian beef- flavors were not that great. Very tender though. Could've been better. 6. Sea trout- this was amazing!! I love the sauce. Fish was so soft and tender. The heat, the spice, the sweetness. Some of that sauce in white rice was just perfection. It was really really good. Best dish of what we ordered. 7. Kung pao chicken- this was a really good dish. Crispy bits of chicken. But so soft and tender inside. I love the sauce that it was in. It was by far one of the highlights of the meal. It was good food. Price for everything (except the lobster) was pretty good. Food tasted amazing for the most part. Typical Chinese customer service. Pay at the front. Massively large portions. Solid authentic Chinese food.

We came here around 5:30PM and the traffic to get to Shrimp House was pretty bad. Found out that you can enter from Myrtle and from Live Oak. We were on Myrtle and went onto Live Oak thinking that was the only entrance.. that was a mistake due to the backed up traffic during the time. When we got there, we were seated at a table. It was pretty crowded, full of older people. The guests were friendly and seemed to be regulars of the place. When the waitress came to us, she took our order. We ordered: Popcorn Shrimp - Loved this sooo much! Reminds me of Sizzler. Popcorn shrimp was hot, fresh, and had a crispy batter! The actual popcorn bedding added to the theme :) 9/10 Ceviche - We got the Mexican style and it was good. Not as good at Kickin Shrimp, but it was a good appetizer to start with. 7/10 Clam Chowder - This clam chowder reminds me of Sizzler's clam chowder. It was creamy and thick, and had a few bits of clams. 7/10 Grilled Seafood Sampler - The fish was nice and flaky. Very flavorful with the seasoning that they used. The shrimp was nicely grilled. We were not a fan of the bell pepper that was on the skewer that bled into the shrimp itself. The flavor was a bit intrusive considering shrimp already has a light flavor. Finally the scallops were a pass. Just grilled, nothing amazing. 7/10 overall Shrimp Scampi Linguine - Not sure what the hype was about, but this was the most forgetful dish I had here. The linguini was a bit soft/overcooked, the fettuccini sauce was thick and not too cheesy, but more creamy, if that makes sense, and the shrimp was just shrimp (possibly the grilled shrimp) and was just drowned in the fettuccini sauce and lost any natural flavors it would've had. 3/10 Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream: Out of the disappointing Shrimp Scampi Linguini, the Lava cake made up for it. We do not usually get dessert, but we were sure glad we got this. Similar to the pazooki from BJ's, but a hot choco cake instead. I can do without the whipped cream though, since I don't like it too much. 8/10 Overall, this place is a small, quaint place for seafood. The appeal is the hometown feel, friendly service, all while providing good, affordable seafood.

So if you're looking for a Dim Sum place that's not crowded and tastes pretty good then, this is the place for you!!! CAPITAL SEAFOOD! EVERY BITE HITS THE MOOD!!!

So so.. not the best dim sum I've had. Rice noodle rolls don't seem to be freshly made. Seems like…read morethey use thicker premade rice noodles instead of steaming them fresh and thin. Siu mai had some chewy pieces of pork. Flavors were okay. Standard. Fried shrimp rolls were good, football was good. The flow of food coming out started to slow down and when asked about certain items the lady just said "later" lmao. It's clean, tables are pretty close to each other. Idk if I'd return but it's just alright.

Blue Magpie in Arcadia was honestly such a fun date night spot!!!…read moreThe whole restaurant feels super pretty and upscale, but still comfortable and not too fancy or intimidating. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share and everything was soooo good!! You can really tell they put a modern twist on Taiwanese flavors. The Lady Camellia cocktail and Wintermelon Highball were both really refreshing and smooth Dangerously easy to drink honestly LOL. The Mala Gizzard had a nice spicy kick, and the Scallop Chimichurri was super fresh and buttery. One of my favorite dishes was definitely the Beer Spicy Clam Stir Fry ~So flavorful and perfect with drinks. The Sour Spicy Branzino was AMAZING. The fish was super fresh, soft and tender inside. The sauce had the perfect sour and spicy balance without being too heavy. We also loved the Pan Seared NY Strip and the Roasted Duck Breast. Everything felt really well thought out and beautifully plated. And don't skip dessert!! The Mango Panna Cotta was smooth and creamy, and the Truffles Basque Cheesecake was unique and delicious. Another big plus is they have free parking in the back, which is super convenient for Arcadia! They also have two private rooms, so I think this would be such a cute place for birthday dinners or small celebrations too. Service was really good. Definitely one of the more unique Taiwanese restaurants we've tried lately. Would totally come back again!!
