Overall, I liked the food and would come back, but I definitely recommend checking your total and making sure the charges are correct before leaving.

I have been to this Asian market a few times and am actually surprised that the price of produce is really cheap. But you do have to be aware that the fruits may not last as long as maybe going to another market like Smart & Final or Stater Bro's. Also there have been times when I have seen produce starting to mold/ have spots. During cherry season, I was surprised to find that this market sold rainier cherries (I actually love these more than the red ones) for $1.98 per pound where as other places are selling them for anywhere from $5 to $7 per pound. It is very busy when some of their produce like that is very cheap (because you know you just aren't the only one who thinks that is a good deal). The rest of the market itself has a similar layout as what you would expect at other Asian markets. And on our past visits, the market has been clean and did not have that familiar odor that may be associated with Asian markets. One thing I thought was interesting though about this market is that you need to have a minimum purchase of at least $5 for credit card transactions. I have only seen a small number of markets that have a minimum for credit card transactions and just wanted to bring that up for those that don't normally carry cash but wish to grocery shop here.

True to form, they did deliver an impressive assortment of tropical and hard-to-find fruits. So far, so good. Now, about that word fresh -- let's call it aspirational. Several fruits were sporting some noticeable blemishes, though in fairness, that might be the work of picky shoppers playing a game of "squeeze every mango and put it back." We've all seen that person. The selection overall wasn't bad, but they fell short on a few things I needed -- either the price was a touch high, or the brand wasn't quite right. The store leans heavily on food products from China, which appears to be their bread and butter (or should I say, their rice and soy sauce). As for making a special trip from home? Probably not. The limited selection on my must-have list makes it a tough sell for a dedicated haul. That said -- if you're here specifically to raid their produce section and stock up on exotic fruits you won't find at your average grocery store, this is absolutely your spot. Just, you know... inspect before you invest.

Review #904 2025-#078…read more I discovered Good Fortune Supermarket because it shares parking with Yi Mei (refer to Review #903). I had some time to kill before having brunch with my brother, so my son & I browsed the supermarket to see if there's any goods that are interesting or a good deal. The market is well-stocked & organized, but the floors are dingy & screams for a deep clean. Yikes! Though the items on the shelves look like there's been turnaround since they're not dusty. Whew! =) Its offerings are similar to the local Asian markets, with a little less variety at slightly higher prices. The fresh fruits were absurdly pricey IMO, but there were a few "sales" though they're still higher than regular pricing elsewhere. Since we're over an hour from home, I only picked up some snacks like roasted peanuts (I love the Farmer Brand!), fermented hawthorn, & some biscuits. The cashiers were friendly... asked if I found everything I needed, & also greeted my son & asked if hawthorn is his favorite treat. While I didn't have any 好運氣 (good fortune) in finding any deals, I get some yummy treats for my 6 YO to nosh on while waiting for my brother. I prefer the Main St. location in Alhambra, but they've been temporarily closed since 09/2024; I usually shop there when I'm in the area because of the eateries nearby. I don't think I'll be making any return trips unless I'm dining next door.

This place is seafood haven, so many sushi options, so many poke options... it is incredible, the first time I went I felt like I was at a museum. I give 5 stars because I am in love with Korean culture, I love how many offerings they have, I love that everyday I visit feels different and I love that I don't feel foreign here even though I totally am.

The staff here are generally friendly and very helpful, and work hard to get you what you want. The only issue I've had over the years was one of the older guys behind the counter charging us for something much more expensive than what we actually asked for, and we had to drive all the way back to get a refund. They had exactly the same shape and color as the ones I usually bought from Chinese markets, but they were not cooked. Once defrosted, they practically melted into water. Vietnamese markets also sell many kinds of fish by weight. Most of them are good, but you need real experience when buying raw seafood. Otherwise, it is very easy to waste money. Thuan Phat is a typical Vietnamese market in this sense. You can get most of the ingredients a Chinese family needs.
