Very fresh seafood selection. If they don't have what you want, let the owner know and he will get it for you.

Didn't realize this, but they will prepare the items for you like take the abalone out of the shell and clean the geoduck for you so all I had to do was slice and eat. Saw them doing the same for some fish, which was cool. Be sure to tip them if they do prep for you. Prices seemed reasonable to high, but considering my favorites are difficult to find, price was really no object. I wish I didn't have such expensive taste or I'd be back weekly :). Language is a bit of a barrier but can get by with pointing and basic English. Pro tip: ample parking in back or street parking right up front.

I usually place an order through their Instagram DMs a few weeks in advance for holidays. You can ask for their excel spreadsheet and they'll send it to you with prices and this same spreadsheet updates every year! There is also a little deposit for holiday pick up depending on the size of your order. Their sashimi platter is beautiful, fresh, delicious, and always a party favorite. I usually get: Salmon, Toro, Yellowtail, Scallops, and Oysters. If available, uni trays and fresh wasabi (which can also be picked up at HMart). Scallops are my favorite but every piece of fish is so good and cut perfectly. Parking and pick up is easy. It is a very small store front with one party inside at a time and pay at the counter. Highly recommend for party platters for fresh sashimi.

Prepped in a party tray with ice bags to go. 2.0 lb salmon: The cut had even lines of fat and meat. 1.5 lb tuna: Personally, I liked the tuna more than the salmon. It was so soft. Pretty much better than sugar fish's tuna. Ginger, wasabi and misc are purchase only.

Food Selection: 4/5 Prices: 3/5…read moreLook & Feel: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 stars So there's no doubt this is a huge market, but walking into the store was like walking back in time - somewhere in the early 90s, but no one did any renovation or upgrades in many parts of the market. It's really, really, REALLY rundown looking. The refrigeration systems and the shelves look fairly dated. But their overall stock is full here and there's staff walking around restocking and even watching you while you walk through. There's definitely a good variety of ingredients and brands I didn't really recognize, so they carry a lot of things. The prices on many items here were like conveinence store prices, but maybe it's like that for the the city and area. So lots of selection, but absolutely not much of a vibe here - just shop and that's it. They do play Cantonese and Mandarin songs on the speaker system, so that's kind of cool. Parking can be tight if you come here during a busy hour.

Review #904 2025-#078…read more I discovered Good Fortune Supermarket because it shares parking with Yi Mei (refer to Review #903). I had some time to kill before having brunch with my brother, so my son & I browsed the supermarket to see if there's any goods that are interesting or a good deal. The market is well-stocked & organized, but the floors are dingy & screams for a deep clean. Yikes! Though the items on the shelves look like there's been turnaround since they're not dusty. Whew! =) Its offerings are similar to the local Asian markets, with a little less variety at slightly higher prices. The fresh fruits were absurdly pricey IMO, but there were a few "sales" though they're still higher than regular pricing elsewhere. Since we're over an hour from home, I only picked up some snacks like roasted peanuts (I love the Farmer Brand!), fermented hawthorn, & some biscuits. The cashiers were friendly... asked if I found everything I needed, & also greeted my son & asked if hawthorn is his favorite treat. While I didn't have any 好運氣 (good fortune) in finding any deals, I get some yummy treats for my 6 YO to nosh on while waiting for my brother. I prefer the Main St. location in Alhambra, but they've been temporarily closed since 09/2024; I usually shop there when I'm in the area because of the eateries nearby. I don't think I'll be making any return trips unless I'm dining next door.

It's not "fake" American wagyu that's barely prime grade either--the marbling is a perfect balance between the richness of Australian/Japanese wagyus and a regular prime. The staff here are generally friendly and very helpful, and work hard to get you what you want. The only issue I've had over the years was one of the older guys behind the counter charging us for something much more expensive than what we actually asked for, and we had to drive all the way back to get a refund. Not sure what the deal was since we ran into him when getting the refund and he seemed annoyed rather than apologetic lol. But! Aside from that, everyone's great. When they're busy, grab a number from the corner and they'll call. There's a great selection in the case of just about every type of meat including fresh seafood. Bought a slab of Icelandic cod today as well because it looked so nice. If you order a lot, they'll ring you up in the back, otherwise they'll let you bring it to the front checkout to pay.
