nice, clean cafe. airy and spacious. staff's level of english is below average. but service is efficient and quick. ordered the all day breakfast with sunny side up egg. my friend asked to substitute sausage with extra egg. after a few blank stare, she finally understood what he wanted. my all day breakfast included sausage, bacon, egg, baked beans, toast, coffee and orange juice. all for 4.70pound! very good deal indeed. you can see visually that it is well cooked. generous portion of baked beans that was rich and tasty. i had 3 slices of bacon and no egg initially. a mistake that was quickly corrected. they didnt take away the extra slice of bacon but my egg was over-easy instead of sunny side up. the toast was nice and brown and what i like is they spread the butter on the bread for you. not good if you dont want butter though. orange juice is standard stuff. coffee is acceptable diner standard but not the watered down version. i polished up my plate within minutes. a fellow diner did not have enough money and they actually allowed her to leave the cafe to get money. very trusting indeed but not misplaced as she did come back to pay for her breakfast!:) read more

Excellent food, service and price. Yelp unfortunately did not help me find this place. I had to depend on the URBANSPOON app to help me find a place that serves breakfast in the afternoon. This place will not disappoint and will serve you breakfast all day in a great delicious way. I've never really been a huge tea person but the way that they make the tea here is quite nice and I didn't even need sugar like back in the states. The staff was quite FAST and pleasant in every way. The walk was pretty short from The Regency hotel and staying in south Kensington seems to have been a pretty good and affordable choice. When I return to London I will definitely be coming back here. Absolutely excellent! And FREE WIFI! Woohoo! read more

I came here the other day for a classic English breakfast before sending my friend off to Heathrow via South Kensington. This place is very casual with low prices and a menu you would expect from a very simple cafe or greasy spoon joint as we have in the US. I would say it's fine, but nothing amazing or particularly good. I'd say you get what you pay for here in that you're going to get a basic meal that will satisfy your appetite, but won't blow you away. I'm not sure if I'll be back as I prefer Muriel's across the street and would rather pay an extra £3 or £4 for my meal and really enjoy it, but Floris is fine for a no-frills meal. read more

This place was terrible! We went because it was cheap and lets just say that you get what you pay for. I ordered a sandwich, which was bland and tasteless. My husband ordered a meat pie, which was undercooked. The crust was doughy and mushy. This was surrounded by runny baked beans from a can. The waitresses took their lunch breaks at the same time, so that we had to wait and wait for our bill. Finally we got up and went to the front to ask. Just as well, because our waitress clearly had no interested in serving us anyway. The restaurant was crowded...not with people, but tables way too close together, so you had to squeeze around them to sit down. Only people there, in the middle of the lunch rush, were parents with young children (ie. toddlers, that were playing with the food, more than eating it) and workers on lunch break. Somehow everyone else got the memo that this was not worth going to, except us! There are many lovely restaurants in this area. Better to spend a bit more and get more as a result! read more

My family and I were visiting London this summer and stayed at a nearby hotel, so we came here several times. It was very convenient, inexpensive, quick and good. Tried various of the breakfast and lunch items. Nothing particularly special that stood out, but also no complaints. read more

Here's what gets 5 stars for breakfast: 1. Crisp, clean, freshest of fresh salad, complete with Italian flat-leaf parsley, with my mushroom omelette (Americans don't eat salad with breakfast; we'd be way healthier if we did!); 2. Our lovely waiter, Saki, went above and beyond. When my daughter picked up her toast off the floor, her surprised us with a replacement pair of hot, buttered halves. He charged my phone for me. He served our jet lagged sorry faces with a smile, till we were laughing with one another ourselves. 3. My kids ate their beans first - legumes are gonna save the world, I'm convinced, but the girls don't jump at them at home, and we never eat them for breakfast (rebels always, we Yankees). 4. Another great Yelp find! We went in for brunch before skating at the Natural History Museum. The service was impeccable, the coffee was the best filter I've had in London, and our meals were delicious and cheap! I got the vegetarian breakfast, trying bubble for the first time. For the unacquainted, bubble is mashed potatoes with vegetables (peas and carrots in this case). The vegetarian "sausage" is always a questionable decision. In this case, it was bubble in sausage form and fried. Which is actually better than the salty, dried out, shriveled tofu sausages you usually get with a veg breakfast. The Irishman got his fill of dead pig product (sausage and bacon). He found the breakfast a bit small (sausage, bacon, two slices of toast, beans, and an egg) but he took my chips and some of my beans, so it worked out fine. Two points lost for the bathroom and condiments. You can't flush the toilet paper because of the plumbing --East Asia-styles. Not exactly what one expects at South Kensington. And the brown sauce and ketchup were both store brand... With a cute vibe, good prices, and decent coffee, (and a 5 health rating) we couldn't believe it was half empty! The only explanation we could think of is the sign outside makes it seem like a crappy cafe rather than a sweet restaurant with lovely service. We overheard employees say twice while we were there that business was slow. I would highly recommend this place! I will definitely be back whenever I'm around to the museums, which will hopefully be more often! I caught a peek at someone's lunch that looked delicious (chicken, rice and salad), so I'll need to try a proper non-breakfast meal next time. read more

Our waitress was cute but surly, obviously only barely interested in her profession. This place is also having a crisis of confidence - not quite a café, not quite a caff, and a bit more than a sandwich shop. It reminds me of a Wimpey! Perhaps they wanted a Wimpey franchise but ended up with this, who knows. The food is straight out of Franchise cookbook 101, with French fries served as part of a British veggie breakfast (yep I know, my own fault, but its still wrong on several counts). The chicken nuggets (children's menu) were served well defrosted and fried up, and they come with chips too, great for kids who's parents just can't be bothered. On the plus side its clean, the sandwiches look half decent, the coffee was ok, and its just a few steps from South Ken tube, close to the V&A, Natural History Museum and Science Museum. It's not cheap, it's not expensive, it's not bad, it's not great, it's worth a stop if you are local and hungry, but its not worth a stop if you can possibly wait a while.... Get me? read more

We went across the street when Apero turned out to be closed. Cafe Floris was cheaper, had good food and fast service. We tried the special vegetarian breakfast and had black coffee on the side. Great value for money, and especially the veggie-sausage was delicious! There was no queue on a Sunday morning, and it made a perfect start to an interesting day at the museums. Only downsides were the lack of something special and lukewarm coffee. Will be back if I ever live in the area again :) read more

We stopped for breakfast on the way to the science museum and Victoria's and Albert's museum. It was moderately busy, but they sat us right away. We both ordered the all day breakfast which came with coffee or tea and orange juice. The meal was huge and a good value. It was definitely decent and we got our food within 5 minutes of ordering. We have used this little cafe before on a previous trip to London, we only found it by mistake having got off the at the wrong tube station, and as it was near breakfast time we decided to give it a try. So on our recent trip and as Gloucester road tube was only one stop away from Earls Court (where we were going) we decided to have breakfast there again. The owners are Italian (forgive me if I am wrong) the staff are very friendly, the service is very prompt, and they have a very good menu to choose from at very reasonable prices. So if any of you are going to Earls Court for a show or just visiting that part of town give a go, you wont be disappointed. One other thing for you petrol heads, there is a Lamborghini dealership opposite so you can pick one up after breakfast. read more

This is a breakfast review. The cafe is located a stone's throw from South Kensington Station, making it a convenient place to have a hearty breakfast before a day on foot. I stopped there two times and enjoyed my omelette, steaming coffee with milk, and juice. The staff are pleasant and the premises clean and welcoming. For under ten pounds, I'm not sure what else one would want. I liked it a great deal and it stood out from a few more surly and uninviting places on Gloucester Road, I won't name them here. read more

I had the breakfast and my company had the grilled chicken breast, I found the breakfast to be OK, but my company left a bit unhappy with his dish which he didn't finish. To summarize it, I suppose Floris is OK for a quick eat before a visit to the museums, to bad I didn't have time to scan the neighborhood for better places. Lastly, I don't like the fact that they have a cash-only policy, cause I hate having to leave a restaurant to withdraw money to pay my bill, after all it's 2013 and accepting credit cards should be mandatory. read more

Found this by browsing on the web. My wife & I had decided we would probably have the all day breakfast but decided against when we saw the menu. We both had an omelette, my wife with salad and myself with rice. We were greeted politely and were only waiting for the food for five to six minutes. It looked really nice and tasted even better. The price was a pleasant surprise too. No greasy transport café food here. I have lost count of how long I have been coming to Floris for my lunch. It is a great cafe , which only does the English Breakfast , omelette and chips and burgers but also provides culinary delights such as marinated chicken breast , rice and salad, which is great!!! The Fruit salads and apple pie and custard are good too. The tea is always good and strong but they will cater for customers who prefer milkier tea too.
