Love the music and vibe while we wait on our food! The food was so delicious, really! What I want to point out is that my plate came with literally everything. Usually you have to pay extra to add on the things that my meal came with. I'm just not used to that. Never do you get bacon and sausage, pancake & Belgium waffle, and eggs and fruit and a bonus of ice cream too, altogether on one plate. Just amazing! Then it all tasted so good! The staff were great, especially considering how busy they were. They were really accommodating to all of my wants and needs and I'm truly appreciative of them for that. Today is our day to visit the British Museum. I yelped a place for breakfast, which was appropriately called "The Breakfast Club" but found out it was an extremely popular place. There was a line out the door, and was estimated to be at least a half hour to an hour wait. While walking away, we spotted Toi and Moi cafe just down the same block, and they had an A-frame sign that said they served breakfast. Sure, why not? The cafe was tiny, with about 5 tables inside, a counter with 5 stools, some outside tables, and a small eating area downstairs. I grabbed a table and chose the half English Breakfast, which was just 1 egg, 1 sausage, 1 bacon, beans, tomato, mushrooms and toast, and an Earl Grey tea. Stephen had the breakfast sausage and bacon sandwich with a flat white. Like most places, they accept Apple Pay (or contactless pay as they generically call it) but charges 50p to use it. Breakfast wasn't bad. It served its purpose, and saved us a lot of time, as we made our way to the British Museum. read more

A cute café in soho. But it's misleading. While our server was relatively nice, the prices were way to high and the food was really bad. The salad was not fresh and clearly has been laid out over hours. The chicken sandwich tasted like in water soaked bread. And even though we were paying in £ with our credit card, we were charged 1£ extra for having an international credit card. This place is sadly a tourist scam. read more

I walked by this cafe so many times before I finally went in on my last day in London. It's off a small street near Oxford street. Quaint cafe with super cute/ subtle decor. I had the ENGLISH BREAKFAST TEA & 2 SCONES, which was perfect before I left to the airport. Only downside was that the jelly came from a container and it wasn't fresh. Like everyone else, this was a back-up breakfast when I saw the line for the Breakfast Club down the street. We got a cheeky waffle (pretty good) and a full English breakfast (a little foofier than I would have wanted). The waffle plate was great except for the chocolate syrup design. It was pretty, but I'm not a huge fan of chocolate on my eggs and bacon, which was unavoidable. The highlight of the meal was probably my latte. As a dumb American tourist, I respect tea with breakfast but a good coffee was pretty hard to find in London. This place probably had one of the best lattes during my two week stay. If you can get past everything being on the pricier side, this cafe is almost worth stopping at for breakfast just for the latte. Pro tip: Eat downstairs. It's huge. The main area is nice and all, but it's small and after the fourth person bumps into you while you're trying to eat you start to get annoyed. read more

I've had milkshakes that were hotter than this breakfast. The hash brown seemed embarrassed to be on the plate, while beans were tiny pills of chilled misery. I'm still amazed people can get tea so wrong. This was if someone had been described what tea tasted like and then recreated it using dishwater. Since the breakfast club had an hour long wait, we decided to eat here. It's a cute little place with counter seating. It was four of us and there wasn't much room so they asked us to go downstairs where there was a large table and some chairs. Our breakfast was brought down to us. There were no condiments downstairs so we asked the waitress to bring us what we needed which she did. They brought my son's waffles but no syrup, so she had to go back upstairs to get the syrup. Then we realized that they only had 3 place settings and there was four of us, we asked for another place setting. The waitress at that point got annoyed and said rather abruptly, is there anything else you need. Not our fault for not providing all the necessities for a breakfast which was just meh, to begin with. My omelet with mushrooms was just that, a plain egg with roasted mushrooms, no flavor whatsoever. My husband didn't care for his breakfast either. My family waited for me at the table as I was in the restroom. My daughter was finishing her tea and they were asked to vacate the table since there were other people who were waiting to use it. Toi and and moi is a truly bizarre place from the sticky tables to the ikea decor to the eurohouse music at 10 am. One waiter had air pods in the whole time. The girl serving me and my friend was very rude. My friend is undergoing a speech therapy and so has to speak very slowly. The girl behind the counter clearly thought it was funny and gave my friend a mocking look when she was ordering her food, while also looking very bored. Upon ordering a meal with poached egg from the menu we were informed that they "don't do poached eggs today". Pretty sure all that is needed to make a poached egg is an egg and some water?! I myself ordered a pot of tea with my (very unimpressive) meal which I got only after asking the waitress about it. She then proceeded to argue that I never ordered it! She also forgot to give me my change for the tea (which was completely fine with me, happens, right?) and came back to our table with the money nearly slamming it into my hand, because how dare I ask for my tea and change when there's so much stuff going on on her phone screen! I also asked for an egg in my food when making my order which was missing from my sandwich, but I didn't dare to ask for it as me and my friend already felt extremely unwelcome in the cafè and wanted to get out of there as soon as we could. Decided to have breakfast here as there was such a long queue for the breakfast club across the way. You order and pay at the counter before finding a table, and as all of the menu options were clearly written on the board overhead, by the time I was offered a menu card to look at I had already decided what I wanted.Prices looked expensive, but when I queried what I had been charged I was told that my bill included a £1.00 service charge per person. This was not written on the menu board or indicated to me before I paid. Tea arrived fairly quickly once we sat down, but I had never seen leaf tea being served in a cafetiere before! This was not a good idea, as it did not stop tea leaves from pouring into my cup and my tea never became strong enough. Food took a little longer to arrive but was fine - my companion's toasted sausage and bacon sandwich went down well and my scrambled eggs were tasty, but only one side of my toast was actually barely toasted. When our waitress brought our food, I noticed that we had only been given one set of cutlery and asked for another. She was confused by this, and then asked 'Another one???' in a most incredulous way. Were we seriously expected to share one knife and one fork between two of us? What really annoys me about my experience today is that this cafe feels within its rights to charge for service before customers have even sat down. I will happily give a tip when service is good but the policy here is really cheeky and gives staff free reign to provide crappy service. read more
