A pleasant server met us outside when my friend and I stopped by here for lunch, as we didn't have reservations. We got a seat within 10 minutes. A lovely waitress came and took our orders promptly. I had the KIN hash and the waitress happily took a few alterations I made like scrambled rather than poached eggs, and both sweet potato and butternut squash rather than have choosing to choose one. Overall I really enjoyed my meal: excellent portion size for the money and very tasty. My friend had the roast with a number of vegan sides and said it definitely tasted better there versus Deliveroo. I also really liked the skinny chai latte albeit it seems the cup wasn't filled all the way to the top. Cheery place and good value for meal. I had the vegan double chocolate cookie for takeaway and it was tasty: chewy and full of chips. The butternut frosting loaf slice though, whilst moist, was a bit blander. This cute cafe has a great ambiance and super friendly service. We really enjoyed the vegan breakfast platter and vegan chicken burger with onion rings. Wonderful little cafe with extremely high-quality vegan and vegetarian breakfast/brunch/lunch food at reasonable prices. My wife & I stopped in for brunch on a Tuesday morning. The place is small, modern, and well-designed, with lots of beautiful looking to-go food at their counter, and a dine-in menu. My wife got the Kin Breakfast (vegan version; £14) and I got the Kin Hash with butternut squash (vegan version; £14). It's cool that all dishes can be made vegan. Our food came out in about 10 minutes. The portions were very generous, with a wonderfully presented array of various items. My hash came with asparagus, broccolini, arugula, guac, the most wonderfully spiced/crusted tofu, crispy kale, and pickled carrots. Everything was sublimely done, with the tofu being the easy highlight. Very friendly and helpful service rounds out the experience. Highly recommended. read more

What a treat it was to be able to enjoy brunch at Kin Café not once, but twice on the short leg of our London trip. What sent us here? The promise of an unforgettable plant-based English Breakfast and mouthwatering photos to boot. The reviews were not wrong. We went there for a Saturday brunch with a couple of friends. We ordered at the register and then seated on a table outside waiting to be served. The turmeric latte with oatmilk was good and creamy! However... we waited an hour to be served food due to new staff in the kitchen. I don't mind waiting since everybody needs time to learn a new job however, I would have appreciated to be warned at the beginning. To apologizes, the waitress offered us some fresh juices which was very kind of her. And now, the Food ! The vegetarian breakfast was really good and fulfill! It was well done and perfect size ! BEST COFFEE I've had in London so far (been here 3 months). Vegan quiche and salads were pretty good. The quiche felt a bit dry, it might benefit from a relish, chutney or sauce of some sort? There were 3 salads, of which I chose two to have on the side. Fresh and healthy but a little lacking in the flavor department. I'll definitely go back and try some of the sweet stuff. I've been hearing about Kin for awhile, so I was excited to finally get there. I was tempted first by their menu online of a nice selection of vegan food. They did have a few selections on the day like avocado toast, sandwich, and a few others. But more importantly: CAKE. Most of the selection of baked goods were vegan and probably half were gluten-free. Everything with nuts was clearly marked. I was debating what to drink as they had nice coffee, a selection of loose leaf teas, freshly pressed juice and a hot drinking vinegar which I was very intrigued about. But since I saw all that VEGAN CAKE, it had to be just a black Americano to go with my Coffee-Walnut CAKE. Coffee was flavorful, CAKE was moist and sweet (more coffee please), all in a cute little cafe. That's the only downfall, and lack of 5 stars. The minimalistic small space does not allow for very many people. But you do feel very special if you get to sit in a real chair! It's a short-ish walk from Goodge Street station which lets you pass by many little shops and boutiques which you make a note of to go back to later. If you're (justifiably) sad at the demise of Covent Garden's Food For Thought, Kin Café is your answer, and then some! How this place is still so relatively unknown I'll never know but I'm so glad it is, and don't get me wrong, lunch time was super busy, but with this standard of veggie and vegan dishes they still manage to maintain a chilled and welcome atmosphere. Big and imaginative selection of salads are the kind that make carnivores think twice. Loads of gf and df options too. We had quiches with a different salad each. It's really satisfying to be able to find a reasonably quiet cafe in Central London with excellent coffee. To be honest, there's no reason why Kin shouldn't be as bustling as, say, Tap, Kaffeine, Store St Espresso (especially seeing as they removed their plugs...), but I appreciate that I was able to sit here with my laptop for a while. I hope that they get enough business to, well stay open. I am worried as to whether this coffee boom is sustainable - will we end up like NZ, or will the coffee bubble burst, leaving us at the mercy of the Costas of this world? In the future, will Single Origin coffee be a precious commodity? Will rogue roasters (roagusters?) start cutting beans with Maxwell House until "Single Origin" coffees are, in fact, only 21 % 'pure'? I mean, you'll be sold Peaberry, but it'll probably contain mostly instant, some real beans, and dried cranberries to give it that zing. The future is blacker than a good espresso, mark my words. My first couple of impressions - friendly staff (who are very particular about their music choices) and excellent attention to detail. I had two Finca Santa Barbara espressos (I think Notes?) - the guy made the first one twice as it wasn't quite right. I bet it wasn't even bad the first time around, but I appreciate that pride. The coffee was really good - this particular one is pretty rich with a really nice bottom end. Well, I had two, that tells you all you need to know. I particularly liked the mouthfeel (cannot say that word without sniggering to myself). They also do filters/Aeropresses too for people that way inclined. I was a good boy and abstained from the pastries, but will check them out next time I go. I did, however, bring back a bag of Notes beans, so all good. This is london's best gourmet healthy/vegetarian/vegan/raw/coffee-connoisseurs cafe...full stop! I don't think most of the customers are vegetarian; it's the chef's amazing creativity they come for and the vegan version of things (such as the amazing 'cheesier' tofu scrambled egg) usually taste better (and are better for you) than the non-vegan versions they also sell! Even baked beans on toast here is 100% homemade and is a treat! The coffee here is also first class (espresso to die for) but it's the creativity and amazing flavours of the food that sets this place apart from the same-same unimaginative stuff everyone else peddles. Even if you couldn't give a damn about healthy food, and hate vegetarians, you should check this place out, before Londoners discover it and the queues are out the door. Recently, some of the more obvious 'run of the mill' staples have started creeping into the menu, but I hope they stay with the impressive creative dishes that sets this little place apart and will eventually put them in the map. I can't say enough good things about Kin Cafe. As a Vegan traveler, finding nutritious, good tasting food, and great service is difficult at past. Often when traveling, being Vegan, you end up eating lots of carbs and having a difficult time finding vegetables and good quality food. We stopped by Kin for breakfast the morning we were leaving to travel back to the USA. We really needed a good nutritious meal for the long day of travel ahead. Prior to our visit we emailed to insure vegan options were available. Kin was great at responding, and following up. Upon our arrival the people working there were beyond friendly and helpful in helping us select the best options for breakfast. Everything was very fresh tasting and high quality, and great tasting. Also, not to be forgotten, the Oat Milk Cappuccino's were to die for. We ended up having two a piece. Finally, the vegan cupcake for desert was diving.
