English breakfast (set 5)
Joe T.

I'm giving this location four stars because it was my first real English breakfast in London. Trying blood pudding for the first time was interesting. It was grainy, but the flavor was not terrible. The service was good, and the location was small with maybe 8 takes. The food came out correctly ordered and quickly. The flavor was a little bland, but I am taking that with a grain of salt since I have heard that about some English food. My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing and a 1-star rating is terrible

Cheap option for a quick sit down or takeaway feed. All day breakfast sets £5-6, some other hot options, and a sandwich bar. Breakfast is basic but works, probably wouldn't come here for the coffee but saw some others doing the takeaway rounds.

Take away menu.

The restaurant itself is decorated with a classy-whimsical taste, that feels fun and regal at the same time. If you come, ask to be seated in the parlor terrace area. Rose colored decor mixed with marble. Very cool. The staff is extremely professional, dressed in green sport jackets and very attentive. They bring the food out fast! But it's anything but fast food. I had the absolute gorgeous Massaman Duck Curry. It was mouth watering with tons of flavor. I will be craving this for some time. For desert, I had the sticky toffee pudding which was delightful. Highly recommend The Ivy if you're in central London.

It took 25 mins to place our drink order- then about 30 more mins to get our food, after placing that order. Then we had to wait to place a dessert order. Then we had to wait for the check. One word for this comes to mind...'waiting'. We found ourselves waiting every step of the way for our waiter to acknowledge us. Honestly I can forgive A LOT if people are nice but that wasn't the case with our server. Low energy, not very warm and welcoming and slow. Actually to be fair, I got a smile from the busboy when I was on my way to the restroom- perhaps the 2 should switch roles if the restaurant is looking for repeat visits or nice reviews. Btw- the manager...not exactly sure what he was doing. One last thing, I've had sea bass in many restaurants and never had anyone leave the skin on-Just not what I expected. This restaurant gets 2 thumbs down for me. Go to Bills right around the corner - save some money - and get a smile from the staff and a nice greeting.

We visited for a pre-"Hamilton" (the musical playing around the corner at the Victoria Theatre)…read moredinner after searching on Yelp for some well-rated restaurants in the area. My son made a reservation and must have been asked about his birthday, because after being seated by the friendly maitre d' (I think his name was Alex), the maitre d' returned to the table to note that he had been informed that it was someone's birthday. We confirmed that it was my son's birthday the following day, at which point the maitre d' left and came back a few minutes later with a card for my son. The card wished my son Happy Birthday from the various wait staff and said we were being given a 20% discount off our meal (typically, the gift is 20% off your next meal, but the matter d' recognized we were from the US and were unlikely to be making regular visits to the restaurant). After this wonderful greeting, we ordered food from the pre-theatre menu, and we loved all of the food except the tempura broccoli, which was very heavy and too salty for my taste. My son and I especially liked the Longhorn sirloin steak with an egg on top, and my wife was happy with her king prawn salad. My only disappointment was that we ate too much that day and, therefore, we decided to forego dessert, which meant no sticky toffee doughnut. Overall, an excellent meal!

We ordered the Chicken Bun (which is a Chicken Sandwich) and it was super good! The chipotle Mayo really makes the dish. The lamb lettuce bowl was good as well, heavy on the raisins. Skewers were tasty as well. We got artichoke dip to start and it was really great, has a hint of lime. The only food that wasn't exactly what we expected was the mac&cheese, it could use a bit more cheesy cheese. Overall super cute ambiance, great food & kind people! Would come again!!

I loved the decor and atmosphere. Food: My friend and I both ordered the traditional English breakfast. I had mine with vegan sausage. The breakfast was exactly what I expected and was pretty good. I was excited they had a vegan sausage option instead of leaving the sausage off like other places. Service: Our service was quick and friendly. We were able to order promptly and our food came out in an expected amount of time. There is a bit of a time limit for stays because they are so busy, but we didn't feel rushed at all. TL;DR - Lovely place for an English breakfast

The environment of casual benches and chairs with homemade cushions surprisingly served to make the relaxed ambiance the perfect background for the fine dining. It's a quaint little Italian spot in the heart of London and it's a wonderful place to spend, especially at night. We ordered the Spaghetti alla Carbonara, the Strozzapreti Boscaiola, and a Bellini and Mimosa to go with our dinner. The food took just a little while to get here but I was sure that it was because they were taking their care with every dish the chefs made. I was right. The pasta was fresh, the sauce and the ingredients tasted very simple and hearty. It all tasted like my hypothetical imaginary nonna made it. The drinks were very good too and complimented the food nicely. Our waiter was absolutely the nicest guy ever. He was very attentive and made sure that we were happy with everything. In my head, I was going to tip him well, and then when we got the check, there was no option to tip. God save the UK. America could learn a thing or two about what it means to not make life all about work. That's beside the point. If you're in London, visit Bon Gusto. I can't wait to come again and happily hand them my money with the biggest smile on my face.
