Stopped here for breakfast on a work trip. At first we were going to sit outside, but the morning sun is very bright in the front of the building, and only two of the chairs had an umbrella. We opted for the inside seating, which was pretty hip with all of the music memorabilia, as well as the music that was playing while we were there. It's a walk up to the counter order, food brought out and picked up kind of deal. They have a wide variety of breakfast items and the guy serving us behind the counter was cordial. Overall, the food was very good. I ordered the run-of-the-mill, bacon, eggs, toast, and potatoes. The coffee is self serve, fresh, and delicious. read more

Was looking for a simple lunch near the beach and Cafe Eleven was perfect. Ordered the pretzel sticks appetizer and they were really good. Pretzels were full of flavor, soft, buttery and just the right amount of salt. The shrimp quesadilla was very good and our son had the kids cheese pizza that he said was tasty. If you like loud music you will love this place. It has live music on a stage on occasion and features posters of the groups it has had over the years and in the coming months. When it doesn't have live music it plays loud music in the small restaurant area. We are not a loud music fan so I dropped a star for their rating. We had a shrimp quesadilla and a two stuffed portabellas. The shrimp quesadilla was large and flavorful. The portabellas are stuffed with spinach, tomatoes, black beans and onions and are served with delicious plantains. Prices were in the affordable range with not many other places in town having dinners for cheaper than here, although this place is more expensive than a fast food place, but you are getting higher quality food. When you enter the establishment you pick up a menu and order at the counter then find a table to wait for the food. They do bring the plates out to the table but that is the extent of the service. If you are into the music scene or enjoy vegetarian dishes, this place has possibilities for you. read more

Loved this place! We came specifically to see some local bands we were familiar with. Didn't expect to have really good food and spectacular service. Casey took care of us as soon as we walked in. He is a very cool guy and was hustling all night long, doing everything from getting the bands set up to beer and food service. I stuck with Sweetwater beers all night and they were all good. We ate nachos and pretzel bites. All the local bands were really good. Great venue to see live music. My wife, daughter and I had a blast! We came here for breakfast since we were staying across the street at an air B and B. They are pet friendly, so that's always nice to see. There are a couple of tables outside with umbrellas over them. I waited outside with our dog and my husband went in to order. Someone brought our meals out to us, but my husband got the coffees. I wish I had better things to say about the food! My husband's breakfast meal was average and my waffle was really sad looking. I probably wouldn't want to come back here for food, but maybe for drinks. I do see they have some notable musical artists (like the singer from Toad the Wet Sprocket) that play here, so that's cool. Kind of a disappointment eating here, but not the worst meal I have ever had either. I'd give this place about 2.5 stars. read more

I was walking from courtyard Marriott for breakfast and was headed to a different place but passed by cafe 11 and remembered a friend had recommended it yesterday. I was the only person in the place except the guy cleaning the tables. He did not greet me or say anything. I read the sign and walked up to the register as it directed. He did not ask what I wanted or tell me to order when I was ready. He said nothing. I ordered a decaf coffee which he turned around and made by slopping grounds in the filter and immediately handed me a cup of coffee - it was the first drops from the pot he made. At my table I realized it did not only have grounds in it but it was horrid. I took one sip. He passed by the table a few times and never acknowledged me. A local favorite in the area. Everyone there was super friendly and helpful sharing their recommendations, history of the place and places to visit. They had a great selection of sandwiches, fresh baked goods and an endless amount of delicious food in their breakfast buffet. They also had local beer on tap and featured posters of local bands that have played there in the past. It's a small, not too flashy cafe right across from the beach. I really wanted to love this place. The reviews had us convinced that brunch would be amazing. The pictures, all of it looked good. But I have to say, we were very disappointed in our food. The service was great and friendly. It was very casual inside and there's a stage on one side for live music (not a set schedule) which would be fun in warmer weather. We both ordered omelettes and I was surprised to see a slice of American cheese sliced up on top of mine instead of the cheese being inside. It felt a little like something you'd see at Denny's. We ordered a pancake to share and it was bad. I mean - that really surprised me. Clearly it was really overcooked on the bottom so it was hard - which basically meant it tasted terrible. Honestly, the person working the kitchen should've just made us a new one instead of serving one terrible pancake. I would not recommend this place for brunch. Cafe Eleven did the trick. We were hungry and left satisfied - we just weren't wowed. Set in a small strip mall, the parking was easy. We arrived right when a group of older local men arrived as well. I liked that because locals know best. One guy even brought his dog that he left outside by itself with no leash! I was horrified when I saw it but to my surprise the dog seemed quite happy to hang on the patio. I just wondered why the guys didn't sit outside to keep an eye on their dog. The restaurant is a larger room with a stage. Apparently this breakfast spot turns into a honky tonk with live music in the evening. An interesting concept I would say. We didn't know it but it is counter service. You place your order and pay, then someone brings your food. I really wanted a glass of water that I saw on everyone's tables. Sadly we didn't get any. The menu was a bit limited but we enjoyed our breakfast. We tried a breakfast sandwich, bacon and pancakes. Overall the food was good just not great and the potatoes were over seasoned but cooked very well. I guess I just didn't enjoy this place with an identity crisis. It did not feel like a breakfast spot but I bet it wouldn't have felt so off had I been expecting it. Also, the restrooms need A LOT of attention. I went on a Saturday for brunch. I think the buffet was $12 and mimosas were $2 or $3. The buffet had a salad bar, fruit bowl, bagels, muffins, biscuits/gravy, grits, bacon, sausage links hash browns and French toast. I'm probably leaving a couple things out. There's also a pancake and omelette station. There were 5-10 toppings for the omelette and 5-10 varieties for pancakes. I had a little bit of everything and it was all good. If I had to find one thing to cry about, the middle of the French toast was a little soggy. I still ate it. My wife had a mimosa. She's from the Midwest so she likes her OJ with no pulp. After she spilled the last bit of her one and only mimosa on me...I can easily say they use extra pulp OJ. read more

Visited on a recent Friday evening for a comedy show. Doors opened at 6 PM for the show per advertisements. I showed up at 6:05 PM and there was already practically a full house. No concerns as seating was reserved. Strangely, however, they stopped serving wine and beer in a glass at 6 PM. So you were given the option of a flimsy plastic cup. Very strange and it didn't make sense to me. Also, since the show is right in the café, the kitchen staff and the counter staff could be heard throughout the show chatting with each other and customers. Felt disrespectful to the comedian. This is only place I gave five stars to on our week long vacation to St. Augustine. This place is just great. The location, size, service, staff, food, and atmosphere are excellent. It can be a bit loud, but not a deal breaker. We did mimosa's the first morning scooping the place out. The next day we went back for breakfast. We got the breakfast burrito, bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, and the everything bagel egg white sandwich + mimosa's. All are excellent. They have a breakfast buffet on the weekends. We did not try that as we just don't need all that food, but it was packed so it must be good. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Just like everything in St. Augustine, it's hot and humid, so sit inside as the sun hits you in the face. This place is a short walk from the beach. The happy hour beer and wine prices are excellent. 3-7pm half price. I'm going to try that next time we are there. read more

My wife and I stopped here to eat whole on vacay. We walked up and down A1A looking for something light and refreshing and close to the beach entry. We came up on Cafe Eleven and decided to try it. Once we entered I immediately got excited because the inside set up reminded me of a cafe I eat at all the time back home in Indy. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla and my wife ordered the blackened salmon salad. We both had sweet teas to drink. The shrimp quesadilla was one of the most refreshing quesadilla's I've ever had. It was filled with shrimp, rice, avocado, black beans, and peppers onions and tomatoes. That first bite had me doing my happy happy food dance! And the portion size was huge. I could only eat 2 slices of it. I tasted a piece of my wife's Salmon and OMG that was the best blackened salmon I've ever had!! I need to know the recipe! If you're out in St. Augustine visiting this spot is a must try! We went during the day and during the week so the traffic flow was light. I'm not sure if the guy taking our order was just extremely new or didn't know how to work the computer system, but ordering two breakfast sandwiches took us 10 minutes. I ordered a BLTE on a bagel with mayo. What I received was bacon, egg, cheese on bagel with mayo. It was okay, but not what I ordered. My husband got what he ordered, but when ordering he asked if the ham was country ham and the guy asked what that meant. My husband clarified asking if it was salty and the man taking our order said yes. It was not country or salty ham. It was a sweet ham. $30 for two breakfast sandwiches that weren't even both correct is a little steep in my opinion. We won't be returning. read more

I My partner and I visit St. Augustine often. We were looking for a new restaurant to try out so we decided to try out their food and we were pretty excited. It was easy to find and easy parking in a nice area by the beach. The 2 employees were very nice and helpful. We had placed our order for pick up so it was ready when we got there. Paid $20 for a chicken wrap and a mozzacado. At the restaurant, my partner ordered a piña colada smoothie for $9 plus tip..they offer several vegan/vegetarian options. The chicken wrap was ok. Not very tasty but just ok. The " mozzacado" was not good. The bread was stale and hard to chew. The pesto sauce on it had no flavor at all. The portion sizes were OK but I wish they came with a side at least. The smoothie was actually good. I try to be fair in my reviews and sometimes try to visit locations at least twice before giving them a bad review. We like to support local shops/restaurants so I think I might give them another try next time I'm in town. read more

Great hole in the wall restaurant! Not super busy, and it's tucked away out of the craziness of downtown St Augustine. My wife and I ate dinner there and had the avocado steak tacos and they were absolutely delicious. Comes with 3 tacos, rice, fried plantains, and cilantro lime ranch on the side. The rice was moist and clean, needed some salt but not bad. Plantains had a lot of flavor, but I just don't like plantains! I could see someone enjoying them though The building has beach shack/bar feel to it. You can tell it's a local place. You order your food and pay up front, and go choose where you want to sit. On our local weekend getaway, our host steered us here. The place is a community staple, and the group of older locals enjoying beer on the patio seating was evidence of such. The staff were nice. Easy parking in the front lot. They have decent beer and wine options on happy hour. The cinnamon roll in baked goods was nice. Portion sizes were huge and reasonably priced. It hit the spot for hungry beach goers or locals. However, the food was pretty standard cafe food... not super memorable. Perhaps their breakfast is something to try? read more
