I stopped by for late lunch and tried the Mushroom Bulgogi and Summer Pasta both were absolutely delicious! I can really taste the care and quality that go into each dish, especially since it's an open kitchen. The spacious free parking and the beautiful outdoor terrace made the whole experience even better. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable meal. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their Korean fusion dishes next time! A big shoutout to the manager and all the staff, everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. If I could give extra stars, I definitely would!

Empty coffee cup, brought food and never came back to table.

Food was ok pretty but it's hard to screw up breakfast. Service was not good, never brought the requested water and never offered refill for $4.95 cup of coffee. They want paid upfront and automatically ask for tip. Won't be back Dennys is better and much better service.

Great new beautifully designed cafe just dropped! A little outskirts of k-town in Crenshaw with ample parking and very spacious indoor and outdoor seating area. Already an attractive point in wanting me to check it out. I've ordered for take out: tea and pasta. Drinks didn't have any logos on them, bummer. The tea tasted as expected and you can get them iced or hot. The pasta was well packaged and has a decent amount for what you pay. It was delicious, a bit bland though. My order also came right up. Another bonus. The prices are very similar to any other cafes nearby in LA. The customer service was awesome. You order up front and they take your order. Based on my to go order, the worker hand delivered it to me which was very kind of him to do, however I believe there is a pick up station where you walk up to grab your order. There weren't many customers but I saw couple of Korean elders chit chatting and thought to myself how my mom and her friends will love this spot to gossip and drink tea lol. Definitely a good spot to study as well. Anyways, great spot, I hope they do well

Wait till you check out this hidden gem with Ample parking! Spacious inside and outside with plenty of seating! Artistic vibe hence its adjacent to the art gallery!! Friendly service and great food with lots of selection on drinks alcoholic and non-alcoholic they also have Makgeolli and soju as well!! I would recommend checking this place out!! Great place for individual, small group and large party as well!

New coffee shop that only opened a month ago. The owners are very friendly. I had an Americano and strawberry crepe. Although I wanted a banana one they ran out so I had to opt for this. Both were pretty good. They have parking which also makes this place A1 in my book. The only thing is if you decide to eat outside, the tables wobble so your coffee might spill a little if you move the table too much. Otherwise it's a nice place that I plan to try again in the near future.

    Shrimp sandwich

I stopped by a few weeks ago as I was driving nearby and thought I would stop by. It was empty when I went, the server was very nice. I also saw they had Wifi and outlets available. I ordered the shrimp sandwich and it was very yummy. The only thing is that it was a little expensive but the atmosphere was very pretty and calm. I would stop by again with a friend.

Came here seeing the high reviews, but left very disappointed. They were poor in pretty much all aspects. Took 20 minutes for a sad, flat omelette and 30 minutes for an avocado sandwich to come out (mind you it was a weekday lunch, only a couple other customers), and the dishware was cafeteria quality plastic plates. Food taste was honestly really bland and sandwich had a weird sweet sauce on the bread that did not pair well at all. Also, they literally just poured some chips out from an already opened family size chip bag next to the sandwich.. All in all, definitely not what I expected for a $55 brunch (two dishes and two lattes) and safe to say I am not coming back here. One star is for the staff that took our order. She was friendly at least.

Came around 6 pm and it was open spaced, had a lot of tables, sandwiches, espresso drinks, lots of employees, chips, and a big parking lot so no need to park at the street 10/10 I am definitely coming again, because the ambiance was friendly and welcoming Also I ordered an iced americano and it was delicious, I think I might try their food next time

Love this place so much. The patio is so perfect and I love going to work there. The iced caramel latte is super yummy and I don't really have any complaints about the expresso. The service is super kind and always friendly. A parking lot that's completely free which seems so hard to find in LA.

I love this new spot. It feels like stepping into a sweet little cafe in Asia. The service is great and the food is delicious and feels homemade in the best way. A very nice space to get some work done, and plenty of parking.

Loved this place! Quiet, spacious, and clean -- perfect for relaxing or meeting a friend. I got a vanilla latte and a crepe, and both were amazing. Definitely coming back!

Great coffee shop with an open, spacious layout and a welcoming vibe. They have tasty food and drinks, plus a nice outdoor seating area. I love coming here with my wife, and the staff always makes us feel welcome. My kids are huge fans of their pastries!

It remains a unique addition to the neighborhood, as well as a good place to grab some interesting dishes. Since the opening of this particular business, the Zinc chain has opened in a few other locations. Those locations are much newer in not only their establishment but their design. This is not to say that this is still not an interesting, well-designed business, but, with time, it has become a little bit rundown. I hate to say it, but that is the truth. This location could really use an update and perhaps a deep cleaning. I was, in fact, kind of surprised at the condition of this business, for example, on the way towards their restrooms. From my opinion, it needs an clean up and an update. Also, the litter that surrounded some of the outdoor tables where I was sitting at my most recent visit was very surprising. This is just something to keep in mind if you're coming here for your first visit. In terms of what they offer for food, though it has evolved a bit over the years, they still have a great, heath-based menu, with some very interesting choices. For all of you vegetarians and vegans out there, you will, for sure, be able to find some tasty food to eat. Once upon a time, this restaurant was impacted with tons and tons of people. It was constantly full with people either going to the bakery and/or sitting down for table service. Shortly past their opening each day, there would be a line of people waiting for service. This seems to have changed, however. Meaning, if you're looking for an interesting place to eat, with some good dishes, at the far Southeast side of DTLA, near the lofts district, and you want a place without a long wait to get a table and/or your food, this may still be your place to go.

Sampa is located in the Arts District near the intersection of S Hewitt St and E 5th right next to Urth Cafe. There's a parking lot directly across the street from the restaurant but you can also park around the corner by Arts District Park for $5. If it's your first time visiting Sampa, you have to be open minded towards the concept itself. Yes, the dishes here are smaller in portion and costs more than your typical fast casual spot. All the servers here are attentive and offer to help with what to order if you're unsure. For dinner, the Crispy Pasta is their take on crispy pata but served with spinach tagliatelle. The crab fat fried rice is a no brainer and depending on the night you come, I highly recommend the Sinigang xiaolongbao special. WORDS TO DESCRIBE SAMPA: Elevated dining, speakeasy vibes, quality food and service PARKING: Parking can be difficult since it is close to the Arts District, you may want to park in the Public Parking Lot areas FOOD: Lechon fried rice: This dish was exquisite! I loved all of the colors in the rice, which include the fried pork belly, the golden egg yolks, and the pigments of the atchara (atchara: pickled vegetables such as papaya, scallions, and carrots). When I took my first bite of the fried rice, the blend of all of them together was scrumptious! Yes order this dish! 5/5 STEAKSILOG: I would order just the steak alone! The skirt steak was savory, juicy, and mouthwatering! Yummy! 4.5/5 Kare Kare Tamales: This dish was delicious! Kare Kare is one of my favorite Filipino dishes, so when I saw it paired with tamales I was immediately intrigued. The presentation was beautiful. The flavor was rich and unique. The oxtail was tender and the peanut sauce paired well with the savoriness. 4/5 CHICKEN AND PANDAN WAFFLE: This plate was their take on chicken and waffles. The pandan flavor was there, but I wish the waffle was thick, instead it had a crispy thin cookie like texture. 3.5/5 DRINKS: Bartender has skills! Beauty in the booze! I appreciated the artistry in creating our beverages. I loved the details of the flowers and layers of color. Cheers! All in all I had a great time eating at Sampa! I loved the food and service! Some stand outs from the appetizers: the biscuits, served warm, so soft and buttery with the perfect spreads. The albacore spread. Their salads are actually great (this is coming from me, usually a salad hater.) The potato appetizers. Now from the entrees: I was pretty shocked by the eggs benedict popover and the bacon steak. Namely because these are generally pretty straightforward brunch dishes, but they were just so much better here than other places I've had them. I don't know what the secret is for the benedict popover - is it something they put in the benedict sauce? The way the ingredients come together? Whatever it is, it's perfect. For the bacon steak - it cut like butter, and wasn't too salty, sweet, or chewy / thick. So good! The service has also been great here each time I've come, both in a large party (10+ people) and in a small group.
