Wow, I cannot wait to go back. The drink menu here gave me choice paralysis because I wanted everything! I ordered the matcha mochi latte, and the cream on top was divine! Super thick and rich, and when you dip the mochi in it OOOOH just the best thing ever. I also love their seasonal Persimmon Milk Latte. The persimmon at the top and bottom are just so refreshing and sweet, I couldn't get enough! We also ordered their egg waffle sando, which is basically an egg sando but in a hardshell waffle. The savory fluffy eggs went well with the harder exterior of the waffle!! I'm excited to come back and try their Injeolmi mochi latte and their Mugwort one too. What an incredible discovery in Ktown!!! The interior is clean, quiet, and comfortable. Perfect for some quiet time to yourself or to catch up casually with a friend. Moved to Koreatown recently and Cafe De Mama quickly became my go-to for a daily coffee fix! Addicted to the black sesame latte. It's smooth / not overly gritty like some cafes I've tried, has just the right amount of sweetness & love that they don't skimp out on the cream top. You can even purchase their black sesame paste in a jar. The Vanilla Cold Brew is decent as well, great if you enjoy more coffee flavor vs cream. The only con is it usually takes a while even when there's no line. Looks like there's only 1 barista majority of the time. You can order online though I think prices are a bit higher there. The place was filled with students, so it definitely seems like a popular study spot. It's a great place to study or catch up with friends since there are a lot of seats and they offer free WiFi. I ordered the Black Sesame Mochi Latte and the Vanilla Cloud Cold Brew, which came out to about $14 total. The drinks came out really quickly, which was nice. Parking was self-park in the small lot in the back, or there is also street parking available. The Black Sesame Mochi Latte was creamy, nutty, and not too sweet. I also really enjoyed the injeolmi mochi skewer that came with it. The vanilla cold foam on the cold brew was really tasty and their coffee is more on the acidic side, which we like. The mochi covered in injeolmi powder is a fun touch too; it's fun dipping the mochi into the cream and eating them before mixing the drink up. This drink is not caffeinated, but you can add an espresso shot. I also tried the Strawberry Injeolmi Cream Croffle, which had the same cream as the latte, strawberry slices, and a flaky and crispy croissant-waffle. Delicious! this was my second time at Cafe De Mama, a little cafe in Ktown. first off, street parking is available but can be difficult so plan accordingly. lots of seating inside and they have a restroom. the menu is actually pretty expansive, there's a lot of drinks to appeal to many different palates. but so far I have ordered just the injeolmi mochi latte and the strawberry injeolmi mochi latte. employees have always been polite, and they make sure to tell you how exactly to drink your latte (i.e. take the mochi first and dip in the injeolmi cream, then enjoy the latte). the drinks itself are phenomenal!! the taste of the injeolmi mixed with either the milk or strawberry goes great together. one of my fav latte flavors. next time I'd like to try the persimmon latte because I will definitely be back for more soon. read more

Came here for a drink while waiting for a spot next door for dinner. Tried their special drink roasted sweet potato latte with an added shot of espresso. I was skeptical thinking this is an interesting combo that might not be good but I was pleasantly surprised. The drink was perfectly balanced with the taste of the sweet potato, the sweetness with a hint of espresso. It was a delicious drink and I'm glad I tried it. Strawberry Milk - The best strawberry milk I've ever had in my life. Cafe de Mama does the strawberry milk the right way!! The strawberry flavor is very strong, and the drink is not too sweet. It's actually milk and now some strawberry slushie. I've had so much bad strawberry milk from other places. This place does it the best. Injeolmi Latte - I'm very caffeine sensitive so I get the Injeolmi latte without any coffee/espresso. You would think a drink might be too plain without coffee or something else, but Cafe de Mama does the Injeolmi latte so well! It's so creamy and the flavor is so strong! I've tried recreating this drink at home since I don't live nearby anymore, but I can never get to be as creamy or flavorfull. Persimmon Milk - Persimmons are my favorite fruit so of course I've had to try this drink. I don't love it as much as the strawberry milk or the injeolmi latte, but the persimmon flavor is very strong. It tastes exactly as it sounds -- like you're drinking persimmon blended with milk. Vibes - Cafe de Mama is not aesthetically nice as some other beautiful cafes in ktown, but their drinks beat out so many of the other cafes. My friend and I came here on a whim because we we needed some caffeine. They had this black sesame cream latte that sounded pretty good. Wow. It was so good! The creamy and nuttiness of the black sesame worked so well with the espresso and milk. The barista told us that she recommends just drinking it from the cup rather than a straw. Came here during the BLACKPINK Deadline Tour weekend and they had the BLACKPINK drink special. It comes with mochi on a stick and you're advised to dip it in the black sesame cream layer, and the combination is divine! The mochi itself is so fresh and soft and the black sesame cream is so nutty just the way I like it. I think the black sesame cream and fresh strawberry milk worked really well when mixed together, and the fresh cut strawberries were small enough to fit through the straw. I'd definitely get this again if they made it permanent! I also tried the strawberry injeolmi croffle. It wasn't really what I expected, especially because the injeolmi had a buttery paste consistency almost like peanut butter. I'm used to having injeolmi in dry powder form. Overall, I thought the croffle texture was a bit hard, but it was good for the price. A strawberry croffle for the exact same size at Heuk Hwa Dang in Madang Plaza is more than $10, whereas it's only $6 at Cafe de Mama. read more

It's super easy to miss if you're not really looking. There is a small parking lot in the back of the cafe but it is shared with the other retail/restaurants beside it. There is street parking in the nearby blocks just be aware of signage; this is where I ended up parking. There are several tables that cover the space and are mostly accommodating for groups between 2-4 people. I saw a lot of people working on their laptops while enjoying their drinks. Tables can be moved and combined for larger groups. I ordered their persimmon milk. I was surprised to see this on their menu as I've never seen something like this before offered at other cafes and I love persimmons. I had high expectations and they were met! I am not a fan of how they charge extra $1 for a shot of espresso in the latte, but it tastes good so I am not complaining. The mochi is super chewy and tastes really good if you dip them in the cream top. Green Forest Mochi Latte -Mugwort added the perfect amount of herbal and refreshing depth. If you have had pennywort and like that, you will like this drink as well. Mochi paired well with the Mugwort cream. Persimmon Puree Milk -sooo good! Chunks of persimmon come up with the milk and adds just the right about of texture. Black Sesame Cream Latte -coffee is strong, black sesame cream is where all the flavor is make sure you stir well. This is your typical ktown coffee shop in my regular rotations. I've consistently gotten one drink here which is their black sesame iced latte, that's popular here. It tastes delicious, but i wish that the coffee doesn't seem to be very strong/robust, which could help cut the sweetness down. Ambiance wise, the place is packed with students studying / korean middle aged ladies catching up. The wifi is pretty good, and there are decent amount of outlets. My only thing is that the seating isn't too comfortable especially if you're wanting to work here for several hours because the seats are not cushioned. read more

What an amazing discovery! I find myself coming here at least once a week because the drinks are just that good - and so unique. I haven't seen anything like this anywhere else in LA. My absolute favorites are the "Green Forest Mochi Latte," "Persimmon Pure Milk," and "Injeolmi Mochi Latte." The crème on top of the "Green Forest Latte" is out of this world - I have no idea how they make it, but it blows my mind (and my taste buds ) every time! The small mochi pieces they add to the drinks are such a thoughtful and delicious touch. It's those little details that really set this place apart!
