On our drive north for Thanksgiving we took a pit stop at this exit for a late lunch/early dinner. We didn't want fast food and saw this little cafe across from a McDonald's and decided to give it a shot. The space itself was very warm. It seemed very out of place in its little strip mall. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We ordered two paninis (one cheddar, salami, spinach and prosciutto, the other was fresh mozzarella, mushrooms and peppers). Both were $5.99. Both were huge, delicious, and well made (they didn't just heap toppings on, they were carefully placing all of the ingredients so they were spread evenly). This wasn't on the menu but they both came with a salad of greens with a vinaigrette. It was a lot of food for $12. The owner also threw in a couple pastries for free which were also quite tasty (we ate the chocolate croissant for dessert, we still have a fruit pastry which we've tasted but decided to save for later). Their display case was full of other delicious looking treats. If I were making this drive again I'd definitely be up for a second visit. It was about a minute from the exit ramp. read more

This place is incredible and the staff are very good and friendly. Not sure what type of people are giving them bad reviews. I've never had ANY issues with them and I go all the time. This was our 1st time. My fiancée and I met with friends and purchased a coffee, chocolate croissant, and a water. Unfortunately for me, I didn't feel like eating a pastry or purchasing an omelette, so I found a leftover banana in my backpack and started to eat it. At that point the OWNER walked up to us and said "Excuse me but you purchase at the counter up there!" It was the most awkward and rudest experience we ever had. Customers around us looked at this interaction in disbelief. First, we already had purchased and paid for our cost per head. already and secondly, how we would have made our own cappuccino and serve it to ourselves in the exact same cup and saucers? Additionally, if they had fruit as an option, I'd have gladly paid the establishment a fee for that. We will absolutely never return here for the way they made us feel. read more

Stopped here for coffee on a road trip. Really awesome coffee shop that has a chill hipster feel. Coffee was really good and they had some awesome pastry items. Wish we could've tried them all but we only had the cookies. The spot itself looks like a good place to work or study. The staff were chill and nice. Seemed like they had a lot of employees there though for a Sunday afternoon. If I'm near the area again, I'll definitely stop in again to try their food and to relax. read more

This independent coffee shop on Main Avenue is a welcome addition to the Silvermine area of Norwalk/Wilton. The coffee is delicious and all the baked goods are made on location without preservatives or chemicals. Try the Boston Creme croissant - you won't regret it! (Well your thighs might) Mom Rating: It can get quite crowded in the mornings so fitting a stroller in can be challenging, but the staff is super friendly and they will help accommodate. No booster seats or high chairs that I saw (management should think about getting some). The noise level is not too bad for sleeping babes. read more

Just had a visit to my hairdresser next door and they highly recommended I check this place out. So glad I did! Beautifully decorated cafe with fresh, homemade croissants, cakes and cookies. I normally don't drink coffee but I am now completely hooked on theirs. Got a decaf cappuccino w almond milk (what's the point right?), and it was seriously the best coffee I've ever had. They also have crepes and salads and the prices are excellent. I got the ham, Gouda and mushroom crepe and it was deeeelish! I can't say enough good things about this cafe. The baked goods are as delicious and well-made as any I've had anywhere in the area, the staff is courteous and knowledgable, the coffee is expertly made, and the rest of the menu is delectable. To the latter point, there are very few places in Fairfield County where you can get excellent coffee AND a really good omelet, crepe, or salad. Plenty of places for either, virtually none for both. Cafe Dolce is one of those places. We go as often as we can. read more

We stopped here on the way home because my husband wanted some coffee. The hours listed online were different from the actual hours - on Google reviews it said Cafe Dolce was open until 5 on Fridays, we arrived there around 3:30. I entered the store, the person at the counter gave me a weird look. I asked if there was a restroom I could use, he shrugged his shoulders & gestured down the hall, like I should have already known where it was. I promised I would purchase something when I came back. I went back to the counter, asked if there was oat milk, and attempted to order a latte. The person at the counter said the espresso machine was turned off, he could do iced coffee. Ok, reasonable? I asked if there was a way I could get a hot tea. That was when the person at the counter told me in an annoyed like I should already know manner that Cafe Dolce had closed 1/2 hour ago. Well.... I'm from out of town, not a regular customer, it said you were open until 5 online, and your door was wide open with customers congregating at outdoor tables at your establishment. I said, ok, I don't need to get anything then, thanks for letting me use the restroom, and booked it out of there. I don't have time for rude people. What about just telling me your establishment was closed in the first place instead of giving me weird looks and being pretty darn rude about it. Maybe make sure your hours match up online. 2 stars because the person at the counter did allow me to use the restroom, and the baked goods looked very good. read more

Stopped here on our way back to Maryland and what a hidden gem!! Coffee is amazing especially the specialty coffees. I highly suggest going hungry because you will want to fill up on their delicious pastries and desserts. Definitely worth the stop and convenient off the highway read more

Hot espresso drinks are okay. Iced coffee is trash. I haven't had their hot coffee because I was advised against it by a friend. All iced drinks are filled to the brim with ice with drops of beverage in between. Egg sandwich on a croissant was good but overpriced. Two coffees and a small pastry is $15. Wait staff has been rude, rushed, and unhelpful every time I've been there. Atmosphere is cute. Outdoor seating is currently available in the parking lot. Ah, Café Dolce...I had such high hopes for you. We came in too late to get anything but pastries and coffee. They stared daggers at us for even asking for coffee and were extremely rude. I thought it might be because we came in half an hour before they closed, it wasn't. I am in the shopping center often and people who work there told me how happy they are another deli is opening so they no longer have to be subjected to the rude staff here.
