Cafe Citti: A Culinary Love Letter to Italy in Santa Rosa If you haven't heard the hype about Cafe Citti, let me be the one to confirm: it's mind blowing. From the moment we sat down, the flavors, textures, and ambiance transported us straight to a cozy hillside trattoria. We kicked things off with the Special Antipasto Salad--a dreamy lineup featuring bresaola, and house-made burrata so creamy it could double as dessert, paired with a seasoned olive medley that danced on the palate. The focaccia, fresh from the oven, came with local olive oil and a balsamic glaze that felt like a warm hug from Sonoma itself. Then came the Polenta Fries-dangerously addictive, especially with that pesto aioli. I could write sonnets about them. Next up: Prawns alla Diavola, cooked to perfection and served in a sauce that was pure magic bold, balanced, and impossible to forget. We didn't think we had room for entrées, but with appetizers this good, skipping them would've been a crime. The Potato Gnocchi? Like cotton candy for grown-ups--pillowy, fresh, and utterly divine. The Ravioli alla Citti converted me from a ravioli skeptic to a full-blown devotee--bursting with flavor and clearly crafted with love. And the Polenta with Porcini Sauce? Comforting, creamy, and elevated with a crisp crust that added just the right crunch. If this is what Italy tastes like, I'm never coming back. We closed out with a trio of desserts-Gelato, Tiramisu, and Crème Brûlée-each one a sweet finale to a symphony of flavors. The ambiance? Cozy, welcoming, and exactly what you'd want from a place that feels like home. Cafe Citti isn't just a meal, it's an experience, a celebration, and a reminder that food can be both art and comfort. Brava. Thank you for the incredible service, cocktails, and your passion in sharing a piece of home with us all. Italiano Famiglia

First time doing take out at Cafe Citti! The owner Linda assisted with grabbing my bags for take out. She was very sweet and asked if I needed silverware and if I had enough bread (she gave me 4 Focaccia Bread Slices)! I told her yes, it's just the two of us having dinner at home and she said "There you go!" with a smile on her face. I ordered two pastas: Alfredo and Linguine with pomodoro sauce (added zucchinis). They clumped a little from the take out box but you just have to mix it together, get the sauce going and it's delicious! I had to get their whole chicken which was cooked with rosemary, sage and garlic. I also ordered their garden salad. Definitely more than enough food for two people and we have dinner again tonight with the leftovers. Love the family story behind Cafe Citti. I love that everything is served family style whether you get their family meals (serves 6-8) or a la carte.

Oh my god, this was a 10/10 experience every time! Service is great, fast, and friendly actually felt like they cared about us and their job. It's a beautiful small outside space. You can hear the road a bit but the ambience of the space makes up for it. The food, omg the food! Lasagna was melting in my mouth amazing, the layers were precise and so flavorful! Such big portions on the pasta too! Will be coming back and definitely recommend if you're looking for a good splurge.

Legit Italian cafe, we come here every time we're in Kenwood. Thanks to my trusty Yelp app, we dined here 5 years ago. The locals and tourists alike love this place. They have been in the adorable Kenwood space for 30 years. They have since moved to Santa Rosa next to Hank's Creekside on 4th Street, even closer. Their menu is extensive with authentic Italian eats. Service is stellar, everyone is so friendly and happy. It's like you're dining with family, but way better, as some real family members you don't like j/k (not really) lol. Grazie and see you on Yelp (SYOY)!

We had a relaxing and delicious impromptu dinner Friday evening on the shady (and cool!) back deck of Cafe Citti. Our server Darian was charming, funny and extremely efficient. The SO had the rotisserie chicken with pesto penne, I had a small Caesar salad with calamari. Excellent! Finished with the tiramisu which was wonderful sitting in a "Citti" decorated sauce. Fantastic experience, will definitely return!

First time back since they were in Kenwood, location is different, but the food is still the same! This was the first time eating here for my wife and she loved it. She ordered pesto linguini with shrimp and I ate linguini carbonara. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the pesto wasn't too oily. My carbonara had great flavor, and a very generous portion. I don't remember having this dish at Kenwood, but I'm glad I ordered it. The service was great as well. Can't wait to go back!

From the moment I walked in, good vibes all around. Julie is serving me at the bar and she is on point. I started with a glass of Vermentino and the Insalata Della Casa. How many house salads come with artichokes and pickled onions these days? It was light and refreshing. Moving on to the pasta course. I ordered the Scarpariello and it was surprisingly light for a pasta dish, and loaded with flavor. Yellow and red baby tomato sauce with fresh basil, Calabria chili and pecorino. I wanted a glass of red to accompany the dish and was contemplating a Primitivo. When I mentioned this to Julie, she offered an off list Primitivo without the jammy punch. It was nice, she was on to what I was trying to achieve. I ended up with a Sangiovese and my dignity. All around a great experience and I didn't feel like I was mugged after paying the bill. I really appreciate a good glass of wine for $12-15. I am exhausted by paying $20 for mediocre wine in wine country. Thank you Julie and company for appreciating your cliente. From the outside, it's a pretty unassuming building. When we walked in, I got more of a diner vibe than an Italian restaurant. The décor is simple and straightforward without a lot of frills, but we were there for the food, not the décor. We were seated almost immediately, and our waitress was friendly and laid back. She also let us know that we had arrived just in time for happy hour, so naturally we had to order some drinks and appetizers. We tried both the red and white sangrias, which our waitress had made fresh that day. They were refreshing and hit the spot. To start, we ordered the calamari and shared a Caesar salad. We also enjoyed some of the house focaccia bread. For our entrées, I chose the Lamb Ragu while my wife went with the Pappardelle Bolognese. Everything arrived in a timely manner and came out hot and fresh. The calamari was crispy and well prepared. The focaccia was good, although I would have preferred it served warm. The Caesar salad was flavorful and the perfect size for sharing. The lamb in the Lamb Ragu was cooked perfectly, and the pasta had a great texture and chew. The Pappardelle Bolognese was hearty, meaty, and equally well executed. Portion sizes for both dishes were just right and satisfying without being overwhelming. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and had a pleasant dining experience. My only critique is that both pasta dishes could have used a little more seasoning, particularly salt, to make the flavors pop a bit more. Aside from that, Eddie's delivered a good Italian dinner with friendly service and good value.

2+ to 3 stars a Wednesday evening dinner...my first visit…read moreeven though I'm a local. I' was quite familiar though with Starks near Railroad Square and use to frequent that location before Covid came along....anyway I know Bird is popular and I was really looking forward to a nice bar experience and tasty cuisine ...but I will probably not go again. *Atmosphere--the place is somewhat large with two floors and feels and looks non-de script. Very much a business. Noisy, busy, aloof. 3 stars *Cocktails--I didn't have a signature cocktail but instead requested Grey Goose over ice with a twist. The pour was so small; unacceptably small. A thimbleful . Very disappointing. 0 stars. *Food--we ordered the fried chicken and a side of greens. The chicken was good, moist, accompanied by a tasty slaw and pickled veggie bits. 4 stars The greens were okay but mediocre 2+ stars *Service--our server was pretty much going through the motions, perhaps a long day. 2+ stars, The host was pleasant and helpful. 4 stars. *Price--expensive. They also tack on a back-of-house charge. 2 stars. All in all, it felt formulaic...and I guess it is with Stark's. I hear they have a rockin' happy hour....

We decided to share several dishes family-style, which was the perfect way to sample a variety of menu items. Every single dish was a 10+ in my book! The food was absolutely delicious, and I can see why my friends keep coming back. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The restaurant was easy to find, and I loved the charming décor it felt like a genuine Italian restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. One of my favorite surprises was the Limoncello Spritz. After a day of wine tasting, it was the perfect light and refreshing drink to end the day. Great food, outstanding service, and a wonderful dining experience. I'll definitely be back!

We were recommended this spot from the place we were staying at in the area. When we arrived it was…read morebusy because there was a lot of Prom Students out for dinner, the hostess was very kind and apologetic that as walk ins we were unable to be be seated but she did let us know that it was first come first serve at the bar. My party sat down at the bar and it did appear the majority of the people at the bar were also eating. The Bartender and At this point our server also was incredibly. She was so busy every single one of the bar seats was taken, and she did a fantastic job balancing all of it. Overall the food was an exceptional experience. For starters we got the truffle fries, and A Minestrone soup. The truffle fries were delicious, and had a bit if a kick to them so if you dont like spicy keep that in mind. The Soup was delicious and a great size for the small soup portion. I ordered the Lasagna with meat sauce and its light delicate layers were delicious, and perfectly balanced with the cheese. The server was helpful and informative and told my friend about the Mushroom cream sauce for her ravioli that if you love mushrooms you'll love it but if you don't then steer away. And we LOVE mushrooms and the ravioli paired perfectly with the heavy mushroom cream sauce. We also got the Steak and ordered it medium rare, when it came to us and it was closer to blue/rare the server/bartender didn't hesitate to apologize and in a flash take it back. The cooks remade it and it was perfectly medium rare with that nice browning on the outside and a small bit it pink in the center. We were very satisfied and it was such a lovely touch the manager did come out before the end of our meal to ensure we were satisfied and apologized for the discrepancy in the meal. The fact it was busy every single table full and the bar also being full and the manager still coming to ensure our satisfaction was what true hospitality is all about!! 100000% recommendations for this place and will be coming back!
