I was in the mood for pizza and found Cibo with the help of Yelp. What a wonderful restaurant. I was torn between the Margarita and Francesca pizza and they let me do half and half. The Margarita was okay but the Francesca was phenomenal. It had basil pesto with artichokes , topped off with arugula. Great flavor. The service was so friendly and wonderful. I loved the decor with black and white photos of Sophia Loren, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin and others celebrities from that era throughout the restaurant. I look forward to returning:) read more

I really wanted to like this place more than I did. The food was okay, mediocre at best but the atmosphere made up for it. We came on a Friday evening and there were no seats inside so we were seated outside. Server had to be reminded multiple times to bring enough table settings for our party of 4. I am not sure why they thought our 4 year old wouldn't need a plate or utensils. Easily remedied. As for the food. We ordered: Roasted Zucchini Flowers - I am always excited to see this on the menu but was disappointed to get what was a very bready deep fried dough. It tasted alright, a bit on the salty side and essentially was a carb. Would not recommend if you were expecting lightly battered zucchini flowers. Spinach Ravioli - This was good. Walked in and was immediately greeted by the owner and a sip of white wine on the house! We ordered CIBO star but subbed Italian sausage for pepperoni. Absolutely delicious and sooo cheesy! We also got the arugula salad to start. It was good, could have used another veggie in it in my opinion but I love veggies. My family also got the gnocchi, delicious!!!! Very saucy. We went to our event in the parking lot CIBO Rustico pizza and decided to stop by and try their pizza out. It was really busy, but they were selling pizza by the slice, which they said they typically don't do, but they did for the event. We wanted the sausage pizza and a pepperoni pizza. Both were really good. All the staff were very friendly and it was very likely in fun atmosphere. We will have to try them again during normal business menu as everything tasted wonderful. read more

CIBO Rustico Pizzeria is basically Italy without the jet lag or awkward airport security pat-downs. The ingredients are straight from Italy, and you can taste the passport stamps in every bite. Their CIBO star pizza? At first bite, you think, "huh, that's different." By the second bite, you're Googling how to say I love you in Italian. The staff is wonderful, and the owner is the kind of guy who could probably sell you a used Fiat and you'd thank him for it. Friendly, kind, and clearly passionate about pizza. Only downside? Their hours. On weekdays it's dinner only, which means I'm forced to look at my sad sandwich at lunchtime while whispering "why can't you be CIBO?" Weekends they do lunch AND dinner--aka the happiest 48 hours of the week. Once again, the humble hole-in-the-wall wins. Just don't tell too many people, I still want a table. read more

We went there to celebrate an anniversary. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting - total family vibe. The food was amazing. So much flavor, yet nothing was heavy. We got a bottle of the D'Argenzio Pinot, which is from their family winery, next door. Delicious wine that's on the lighter side. I was told that is the Italian style, which is great because it's more natural and doesn't give me a headache like other local Pinots. CIBO Rustico has become a regular go-to for a delicious meal that won't cost us a fortune. If you're lucky, Ray will be there to greet you and make you feel as though you're a part of the family. We decided to go next door to the winery for dessert and to hear some live music, which they feature on Friday nights. Great evening out and a great place to celebrate a special occasion. read more

Sep 2023 3.5 I'd say. Came in for a date night. The decor has changed a lot and an addition of outdoor seating as well. Noise can be a little rough depending on where you're at inside. Service was friendly, and helpful with any questions. It was pretty busy as the night went on, and check ins and water refills infrequent. We had gotten the roasted seasonal veggies and breadsticks to share along with a bottle of the Colagrossi vino rosso. My partner ordered the veal canneloni and I got the affinare truffle veggie pizza. My partner liked the canneloni. It was cooked well and the cheese was gooey throughout. The red sauce added a nice richness to it that wasn't too tart. The crust for the pizza had good bite and was nice and chewy though a bit plain. The parmesan sauce worked well bringing things together. The roasted veggies were not my cup of tea though. They tasted plain and definitely needed seasoning. And desserts of course with chocolate mousse and the nonna zepole. The mousse was simple and good. I like the hazelnut in the mix. The nonna zepole was warm and tasty though I wanted something to dip it in or like a fruit compote to compliment. Still pretty good overall for what we had. read more

What a delightful surprise! I just went to this neighborhood restaurant for the first time recently. When I leave a restaurant happy and smiling it means the food and the service were wonderful. It's not fancy, it feels like home and after meeting the owner it was obvious he was in his element. Friendly, serving really good food. There were three of us and we ordered some appetizers, a pizza , two pastas and dessert.Shared it all and had a bit to take home. The Artichoke Fritelle and Fava Beans are very good, as were the Veal Ossobucco Ravioli and the Bolognese. I will be back to try some of the other dishes. read more

Sorry, Cibo, but last night's dinner experience was not so great. I give it one star for "trying" First the parking lot is taken over by a business around the corner. At 5:45pm we had to park around the block on the street. No big deal, really. The Caesar salad was ok, not great. Not much dressing on it at all, and what was on it was overpowered by lemon and dry parmesan cheese. I have had much better. The server delivered the wrong pizza, we had ordered the Francesca which was supposed to have buffalo mozzarella, artichoke hearts, and garlic basil pesto. The predominant flavor was the arugula topping, followed by the garlic basil pesto, and a tiny hint of mozzarella. They really short changed us on the mozzarella and artichoke hearts. I tasted a few slivers of shaved artichoke leaves, that's about it. The crust of the two pizzas was touch and chewy, not in the right way that is! I think they overwork the dough in the kitchen. Or the recipe is just not something I am used to. The restaurant comped us our first "wrong" pizza, but it was so awful, we threw it out at home. Dining room is beyond casual, sort of dumpy. The very nice owner spends most of his time schmoozing with customers he knows instead of watching the kitchen. I won't go back. read more

Well, as a fellow 2nd generation Italian I sincerely wanted to love the place and the food, but alas it is not to be. The room to say the least is casual, so much so it borders on being a dump. Rather forlorn Industrial / Rustic (can that really be a thing?) and really low budget. Look at my photos of the paper menus that are so crumpled and dirty they needed to be thrown in the trash months ago. Complimentary 2 oz pours of Paro pinot noir as a greeting was friendly and sincere. The wine is sold by the glass for $15. I never heard of the wine and looked it up on my phone. Found a place that sells it for $17.61 a bottle. Though on the Paro wines website the charge is $56 / bottle. The Cesar salad was okay. Crisp lettuce. Smooth tasty sauce. Added $3 worth of anchovies with was four. After all the accolades from other Yelper's about how heavenly the pizza is here, mine was barely okay with lots of faults. Firstly, we ordered the Francesca with pesto, artichoke hearts and was served the limone. The mistake was rectified by giving us the Lemon pizza at no charge and then the Francesca was brought to table 10 minutes later. The Lemon pizza was just plain weird. The sharp acid bite from the juice / zest combined with the bitterness of the copious amount of arugula was not a soothing experience. The Francesca though a little more mellow with the cheese and scant amount of pesto sauce, the arugula on this one can be eliminated for a more pleasing pizza. My major complaint though for both pizzas is that the dough is overworked which makes it overly leather like, dense which is hard to bite, chew and swallow. Barbara & I brought home the 40% of pizza that we didn't eat here. This morning I threw away the arugula, added slices of salted cherry tomatoes, painted on olive oil, dusted on some sea slat and put it in my air fryer for 5 minutes. Which greatly improved the flavor and made the dough more crunchy which is a small improvement over leather. After this little experiment with so-so results the rest of the pizza is in the trash bin. We came here because our first choice was to eat pizza at L'oro di Napoli downtown Santa Rosa. (Arguably, the best pizza in town), But the wood fired oven there was broken. No pizza being made. So we were glad to finally visit Cibo. We love the D'Argenzio family wines which are made across the parking lot, been drinking them for years. But the pizza not so much. Won't return. read more

Since last year we visited a few more times because the food is good. Our most recent visit was the last straw. We thought the service was on top of it when the server set up a table special since the restaurant was packed. Unfortunately, it wasn't like that. We were given menus that have seen better days. One menu had scratch outs and the other had sauce or something smeared on it. When another server came out to take our order they were out of so many items and it was only 645p. 3 appetizers and a pasta dish. We ordered 2 alcohol drinks, breadsticks and the Cibo Star pizza. Our pizza was brought to us with not even an option of parm cheese or another round. Throughout our visit a few servers walked by us, looked at us but not one time did they check up on us. The server who delivered the pizza told us our breadsticks were late and we canceled the order. Then towards the end of our meal she came out with them. We told her we had canceled the order because they were so late. She became annoyed and took them away. Again no one asked if things were good or needed more to drink. We finally asked for parm cheese. The pizza was really good. It has a lot of flavor. We felt like the stepchildren in the corner. read more

Got take out. A margherita pizza missing basil (got home opened the box and none added). The sauce and dough had next to no flavor. Like making bread with no aging, thick so it was both dry and doughy. Also La Havana. Same dry, thick doughy crust but thankfully some flavor from all the toppings. Lastly meatballs which were fine. All on all 76$ for very middle of the road. From the reviews I've read afterwards it seems quality has been in decline. I'm sure people enjoy this place but we'll move on. read more

Today, my sister, Deborah, took me to an Italian restaurant called CIBO Rustico Pizzeria for my birthday. It was a delightful place to be! We were greeted by the hostess named Layla. She gave us the choice of where to sit. She gave us our menus which included a wine and dessert selection. We were happy to see they offered gluten-free dough for their pizza. Sis has to have gluten-free foods. I ordered a glass of Zinfandel wine and Sis had a glass of Lagunitas ale called 'A Little Sumpin' Sumpin'. She like it and I found the wine refreshing. Sis ordered her pizza while I ordered the Bruschetta and the Mama Rosa's Meatballs. While we waited for our order, I looked around at the many fascinating black and white photos of famous people. I love the one of The Rat Pack. I was impressed by the pizza oven and the total ambiance of the place. I love the old fashioned pop bottles that Layla served our water from! The food was beyond delicious and filling. I even indulged in dessert, which was the Coppa Tre Cioccolati Mousse. It was fabulous and satisfying! All in all, it's a hidden gem very close to Coddingtown. Layla is very sweet and pretty. I know I'm going back again! read more

Picked up a Margherita pizza to go for the first time from this place. I was craving Diavola's pizza but live in Santa Rosa, so I decided to give this spot a try since the photos and reviews looked good. Unfortunately, the pizza was just really bland :/ (so bland I felt the need to leave a review). Both the dough and sauce lacked flavor. It looked great visually, so my boyfriend and I kept trying it to see if it would get better, but it stayed the same (no surprise there). On a positive note, the ambiance in the restaurant looked super cute, and the customer service was great when we picked up the pizza. Honestly, if it was a blind taste test, I would have chosen a DiGiorno frozen pizza from the grocery store over this. I wanted to give one star, but my boyfriend mentioned the good customer service and ambiance, which is why we gave two stars. If it were based solely on taste, though, I would have given it just one star. We are not local to the area so we just Googled pizza place and this place came up. We walked in and the place a bit busy but nothing too crazy, we got a small awkward table that was right in front of the door. It took a good long while for someone to take our order. Once we placed our order, it took forever for just two pizzas to come out. The place was pretty cleared up from the rush. Once the pizza came out it was very tasty. My husband and I have been here a few times but it's been quite a while. On Friday, he was craving pizza and I wanted something a little different. After perusing Cibo Rustico's menu, we decided this was the place. The restaurant was busy and bustling. We didn't have a reservation but were able to snag a small table. We ordered a bottle of D'Argenzio's (who owns Cibo and shares a parking lot) Zinfandel, which was devine. We got the artichoke fritelle as an appetizer and the Cibo Star pizza. The artichoke fritelle were small, breaded artichoke fritters stuffed with Boursin cheese. They came with this amazing, creamy dipping sauce. Super good. The Cibo Star pizza is an 8-pointed star shaped pizza with cheese-stuffed crust, marinara, buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto, sausage, basil, and Parmesan. That pizza was absolutely delicious. We had a great experience. Service is always very friendly and we were even given a small sampling of one of their white wines for free. Great atmosphere, I ended up speaking with another guest at length as she walked her grand baby around the restaurant, which was really nice. 100% recommend. Can't wait to go back. read more

I have been seeing posts about this spot for years and until last weekend I've never made it happen. We decided to have date night here on Saturday evening. We arrived early in the evening, about 6pm and there was enough room for them to seat us right away which was great! The owners are also connected to D'Argenzio, which was a fun fact for me to learn. I didn't realize the businesses are connected. I ordered a glass of the Sangiovese and Ray, the owner, brought us a few other tasters to try which was lovely. Italian is tough for me because of the whole celiac thing, sort of puts a bummer on gluten full dishes. We wanted the grilled prawns but they were out so we got the prosciutto wrapped asparagus instead which didn't disappoint. Toasted beautifully in the pizza oven the prosciutto gets crispy on the edges and stays moist in the wrapped stalk. Served over a couple of breadsticks which my guy enjoyed. We split a pizza, gluten free. We ordered the roasted mushrooms and onion on 1/2 and the Luciano on the second 1/2. Flavor combos were great! Crust was fine; I just miss what gluten does to baked goods. It really is magical and makes things so delicious that gluten free flour and doughs just can't do. So frustrating. It's no one's fault but the magic of gluten. Texture was fine; some chew which is a blessing for gluten free but in parts that ware more charred it was a little brittle. I took a bite out of the breadstick and that dough was delicious! I asked, same dough as the regular crust - so those eating all the gluten will have nothing but chewy delicious pizza crust to devour. We have been here twice. The food is inventive while still being traditional. Ingredients are topnotch, fresh, cooked and served with passion for the food. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I believe it's the owner who stops at each table, offering tastings of wine and inquiring about our experience. Although noisy, CIBO's feels like home.
