    Avocado Toast and Hazelnut Latte
    Stella B.

Best avocado toast I have ever had and the prettiest too! I stopped in here to get some breakfast while my mom was getting a root canal upstairs. I wasn't expecting much for an office building cafe, but I was pleasantly surprised. The woman at the counter was so kind and welcoming. The cafe is very clean and has lovely natural light from the windows. It is like a quiet respite from the office and traffic outside. The avocado toast was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back even when a family member is not having a root canal. It will be worth the trip to just come by for breakfast even if you don't work in the building.

A sweet little corner counter if you're in the area and on the go. Located on the ground level of this high rise, cafe Brio serves up breakfast, lunch and snacks. Since the rise of covid, there's no seating inside, but the counter is open. I've had a latte, avocado toast and another tome, a chicken quinoa salad for lunch. All made quickly, are reasonable priced and tasty. Staff is a little quiet but it's ok! They're very sweet and polite. Social distancing markers are on the floor and sanitizer available by the cashier. I'll be back when I'm around!

Really enjoy coffee and grilled cheese ****. Coffee could have been warmer. Sandwich served with perfection crusty and cheeeeeesy. Extremely **EXTREMELY** polite staff. Will mention not most friendly but I guess that goes with culture. I didn't come there to critique on their persona or if they truly refused to serve fries with order ( stupid *** review ). Came there to just relax and watch street view of cars passing by & how many homeless camps I could count across street. Clean ***** Ambient indoor temp No recommendation(s) required . I would like to be invited back once more.

I came to get breakfast since I live around the corner and I was too late by about 40 minutes so I just ordered ordered the orange juice instead, for eight dollars I was wondering what kind of oranges I was going to get since it said it was fresh. OK. Well. It DIDNT !!!! It was not only delicious but super fresh and every bit worth the eight bucks

    Thick egg laden French toast
    Crystal M.

The lady that took my order was fast. My coffee tasted good. My French toast was also delivered quickly. They also are one of very few businesses in here that validate for parking so this is a perk. You have to spend at least $7.00 though. Unfortunately I didn't like my food very much. There was no cinnamon or vanilla used to cook the French Toast. This was literally thick bread dunked in eggs. Accompanied with cheap, "breakfast" syrup that is basically high fructose corn syrup with a drop of molasses, this was kind of like a weird open faced egg sandwich. Try Brio for some coffee and perhaps a sandwich or if you are an egg fanatic get the egg toast like I did.

From Wilshire, look for the 1645 - entrance just below. Weekly specials n tuna salad salad heh

This tiny lil cafe is on the bottom floor of an office building -- super easy to miss it but just look for 1645 off Wilshire and its right on the corner. Only about 4 tables inside and a small bar seating area but there are also a few tables just outside in the lobby of the building. As usje, parking in the area sucks but the building does offer a garage and they'll validate for purchases over 7$ which is perfect since most of their foods are about 8-10. We happened upon this place after a dizzying hike and wanted a quick bite nearby. We came during lunch so it was kinda crowded but it was fast, everything came out pretty quickly -- despite the line out the door at 1! Yowwwza. Considering the price, lots o' lunch time value. Each order was prob enough to feed 2 ppl my fav is a toss up between the spinach sandwich and the olive and sundried tomato focaccia mmmm mmm. Why'd we get so much thoughhhh -- we need to start listening to our bellies but it was pretty darn yumm! Great service and its all made to order so they were totally willing to customize the orders for veggie eaters. I love non-complainy cooks! Heh

Service was impeccable. The host and servers were attentive to us to see if everything was okay. Food was delicious and all that came out from the kitchen. It seemed intimidating when I saw chili crisp in a lot of dishes on the menu. However, that wasn't the case when we received the dishes. Each dish had other ingredients that married well with the chili crisp, allowing it to have a small hint of it there without overpowering the dish.

I have returned! For brunch this time…read more FLAVOR (4.5/5): 1. SMOKED SALMON MOUSSE AND CRUMPETS: One of my favorite dishes that we ordered. Great sampler plate - the pickled onions and jalapeños added that kick to the mousse. I have no idea how they make the crumpets, but I could have eaten 5 of those. The tomatoes on top of the mousse were delightful. 2. POTATO CREPE: Our server said this was one of their most popular dishes and it did not disappoint. It honors the original Banh Xeo while offering a fun "brunch" twist with the crispy potato shell. Admittedly a little oily and messy, but I can get down. 3. HOUSE MAPLE SAUSAGE: We knew we needed a little bit more in our order but didn't want to commit to a full dish, so that's where the sausage came into play. Definitely should try this with the crumpet and pickled veggies. 4. OOEY GOOEY CINNABON: The cinnabon was unfortunately a bust - it honestly just reminded me of cinnabon, but with no unique twist or flair that I could note. I would skip this and maybe try the pb&j sourdough pancakes instead. SERVICE (5/5): Service was good! AMBIENCE (5/5): Fun brunch spot with options for outdoor seating. The interior is nicely decorated and feels very open. PARKING (3/5): Street parking - managed to snag something on a Sunday. TAKEAWAYS: I've had two experiences at Girl & the Goat so far - one for dinner and one for brunch - and I think I preferred the brunch experience by far. Enough so that I'm considering revisiting their dinner menu to see if they've changed or I've changed... who knows?

It remains a unique addition to the neighborhood, as well as a good place to grab some interesting dishes. Since the opening of this particular business, the Zinc chain has opened in a few other locations. Those locations are much newer in not only their establishment but their design. This is not to say that this is still not an interesting, well-designed business, but, with time, it has become a little bit rundown. I hate to say it, but that is the truth. This location could really use an update and perhaps a deep cleaning. I was, in fact, kind of surprised at the condition of this business, for example, on the way towards their restrooms. From my opinion, it needs an clean up and an update. Also, the litter that surrounded some of the outdoor tables where I was sitting at my most recent visit was very surprising. This is just something to keep in mind if you're coming here for your first visit. In terms of what they offer for food, though it has evolved a bit over the years, they still have a great, heath-based menu, with some very interesting choices. For all of you vegetarians and vegans out there, you will, for sure, be able to find some tasty food to eat. Once upon a time, this restaurant was impacted with tons and tons of people. It was constantly full with people either going to the bakery and/or sitting down for table service. Shortly past their opening each day, there would be a line of people waiting for service. This seems to have changed, however. Meaning, if you're looking for an interesting place to eat, with some good dishes, at the far Southeast side of DTLA, near the lofts district, and you want a place without a long wait to get a table and/or your food, this may still be your place to go.

WORDS TO DESCRIBE SAMPA: Elevated dining, speakeasy vibes, quality food and service PARKING: Parking can be difficult since it is close to the Arts District, you may want to park in the Public Parking Lot areas FOOD: Lechon fried rice: This dish was exquisite! I loved all of the colors in the rice, which include the fried pork belly, the golden egg yolks, and the pigments of the atchara (atchara: pickled vegetables such as papaya, scallions, and carrots). When I took my first bite of the fried rice, the blend of all of them together was scrumptious! Yes order this dish! 5/5 STEAKSILOG: I would order just the steak alone! The skirt steak was savory, juicy, and mouthwatering! Yummy! 4.5/5 Kare Kare Tamales: This dish was delicious! Kare Kare is one of my favorite Filipino dishes, so when I saw it paired with tamales I was immediately intrigued. The presentation was beautiful. The flavor was rich and unique. The oxtail was tender and the peanut sauce paired well with the savoriness. 4/5 CHICKEN AND PANDAN WAFFLE: This plate was their take on chicken and waffles. The pandan flavor was there, but I wish the waffle was thick, instead it had a crispy thin cookie like texture. 3.5/5 DRINKS: Bartender has skills! Beauty in the booze! I appreciated the artistry in creating our beverages. I loved the details of the flowers and layers of color. Cheers! All in all I had a great time eating at Sampa! I loved the food and service! But seating is still comfortable and not stuffy / pretentious. The food is truly above average even amongst restaurants of similar caliber. Some stand outs from the appetizers: the biscuits, served warm, so soft and buttery with the perfect spreads. The albacore spread. Their salads are actually great (this is coming from me, usually a salad hater.) The potato appetizers. Now from the entrees: I was pretty shocked by the eggs benedict popover and the bacon steak. Namely because these are generally pretty straightforward brunch dishes, but they were just so much better here than other places I've had them. I don't know what the secret is for the benedict popover - is it something they put in the benedict sauce? The way the ingredients come together? Whatever it is, it's perfect. For the bacon steak - it cut like butter, and wasn't too salty, sweet, or chewy / thick. So good! The service has also been great here each time I've come, both in a large party (10+ people) and in a small group. The food somehow still comes out when you expect it to and the staff is friendly and helpful. Reservations recommended especially for big groups!
