    sweet corn scone

Found the BEST einspanner that tasted exactly like the ones I had in Seoul! This viral korean cafe instantly transported me back to Korea... tucked away in a Chicago suburb. Cafe Blessing opened in Schaumburg earlier this year and has already blown up. I stopped by on my recent trip and can confirm it's worth the hype! From the scones and drinks to the interior, every little detail reminded me of the cafes I visited in Korea. I do agree with a lot of the reviews that the scones are on the drier, more crumbly side, but I still really enjoyed them. The whipped cream makes a huge difference, and the savory ones tasted so much better after warming them up. Pro tip: get there 10 minutes before opening (or right when they open). The line is out the door on weekends! *Cream Top Latte $8 ** MUST GET! The cream-to-coffee ratio was perfect. I was literally sipping that cream until the very last drop. So creamy, but not too heavy or overly sweet. *Garlic Butter $5 * I'm a savory breakfast person, so this garlic butter scone was easily my top pick. I also loved that the garlic wasn't nearly as strong as a korean cream cheese garlic bun. I didn't even need a breath mint after lol. *Black Sesame $6.5 * They infused black sesame into both the whipped cream and the scone itself, so it was VERY nutty. You have to be a black sesame lover to appreciate this one though, because it wasn't sweet at all. The black sesame flavor really got to shine. *Sweet Corn $6.5 I saw corn, so of course I had to get it. Another not-too-sweet scone, but the corn flavor was so subtle I could barely taste it. *Tomato Basil $4.5 I didn't love this one as much as I expected. It was the driest of the bunch and didn't have any butter or cream to balance it out. I warmed it up later though, and it tasted way better.

Love this place and apparently so does everyone else this place is always hoppin Every time we're heading to Chicago we do not miss a chance to stop here and grab some goodies whether it be coffee stones of a dessert or a Matcha I almost forgot the service is outstanding always tons of smiles and friendly faces

Absolute gem. If you want decent coffee and pastries come here. Drinks are good, the inside is well kept and the service is quick. We came at opening time at 10am. Line had started but only 5 groups. Line moved fast giving us time to think about our order. I can tell a lot of locals love this place and folks come here to work here as well. Gotta stop by!

I have been seeing this place everywhere and I decided to check it out! The scones are a little dry but with the cream it tastes really good! The ambiance is always nice! I went here with a cousin and it wasn't too loud so I could hear her. I want to try their lattes next time! Every time I go to this area I make it a point to go here! The workers were also very patient and the service was overall good.

I absolutely LOVED the sweet corn scone! I'm definitely biased corn is a staple for me. I would definitely come back to try the other flavors! I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the strawberry matcha since it seems like they used a jam base for it. Otherwise, it was a great place to study/get work done as they had a decent amount of seating. The staff were quick and efficient!

1 of a kind sweet treat spot in Schaumburg. Cafe Blessing offers coffees, teas, and scones. I stopped in on a weekday morning. People were already waiting outside 10 minutes prior to them opening! Decor here is minimal and I dig it. Wooden tables and benches. You really don't need much. Service was great. Even with how busy it was I received my items within 5 minutes. I got an iced matcha latte and it was probably the best matcha latte I've had. Premium quality and tasty. I also tried an assortment of their scones. Maybe I'm not a scone person, I didn't love them, I thought they were fine. Pricing is pretty steep and I was expecting to be blown away vs thinking 'meh.'

A cute little cafe that recently opened in Schaumburg. I've seen it all over my instagram and stopped by while I was in the area. We went during an off time, so it wasn't busy yet but as we were leaving a whole bunch of folks came in. We were so excited to try some of the drinks and pastries. The scones looked delicious, we went with some of the recommendations that the barista recommended. My favorite was the strawberry, granted I thought the pastries were a bit on the pricier side, but you can really appreciate the flavors they put in. With the drinks, I got the strawberry matcha and really appreciated how that strawberry flavoring was tasted through the whole drink. Overall, a good experience I look forward to coming back to try other things. Keep mind it's a bit hard to find in the parking lot but it is in a corner, you can't miss it if you're looking that way!

Cafe Blessing specializes in beautiful scones and iced lattes. The staff here are friendly and positive--even their password reinforced blessings "Blessed to be a blessing." I love the concept, their drinks and scones.

Cafe Blessing was the first coffee shop that we went to in Illinois for our vacation. it looks like this place was a Korean inspired Café. They had lots of little pastries one of the ones that we ordered was the corn flavored one. It tasted very good and the corn flavor was strong. There was a little sweet cream on top and it was delicious. One thing though about this place was that those pastries were a little bit expensive almost as just as much as a drink so I would say get one pastry and one drink just to try. they had a few specialty drinks and also looked like they had a good Matcha menu. The Matcha did taste of quality so I was content with it. One thing that was new for me that I tried was the Yuzu Americano. it was pretty strong and robust. I probably would not get it again, but it was something different for me. The cashier was very nice and friendly. She answered all of our questions and was very patient with our party when we were ordering our drinks. I do recommend that people do try this place as it is very pleasant of a café.

Cafe Blessing is STILL going strong 2.5 months after open. I visited when they opened and it was already crowded! They offer a limited menu of coffee & tea drinks as well as unique flavored scones. Some scone flavors rotate but coffee has stayed rather consistent. I got the Cream Top Latte which had a heavy foam top and creamy coffee mixture throughout. For scones, I ordered the Strawberry, Lemon Earlgrey, & Sweet Corn but also tried the Black Sesame & Oreo. The regular scones were $4.50 and cream scones were $6.50. Each scone was packed with its own unique flavor profile that was spot on to the listed name. Everything tasted fresh and none of the scones were hard. I enjoyed the Strawberry & Lemon Earlgrey the most. I will say that all items were extremely decadent! Overall, this wouldn't be somewhere I could go to all the time but was nice for a special treat. They have plenty of places to sit but it felt like they made the chairs purposefully uncomfortable so people don't linger.

Drinks: strawberry latte (for the toddler ), matcha duo, cream top latte Scones: lemon earlgrey and black sesame

I loved the matcha and cream top latte so much! The cream on the top went really well with the drinks. The drinks were perfect for me (may be too sugary for others). The scones were a little tough but the cream on the top of the scone and the flavor of the scones were really well done! They came out with a choco matcha after we ordered and that was good too but the matcha flavor wasn't too strong. The space was very spacious and looked very organized. The seats are not the most comfortable but it was fine. Service was fast and staff were friendly.

Super aesthetic, cute cafe selling scones and drinks. It's definitely on the pricier end with $6 scones and $8 drinks, but the quality of the ingredients shines through. I came on a Friday during lunch time and there weren't too many people. The matcha cream drink had a delicious cream top and the drink itself wasn't too sweet. Will definitely come back to try the other scone flavors. I ordered the lemon earl grey, corn, Oreo and black sesame scones. The scones were on the drier side, but the cream definitely helped. The scone and the crème were both infused with the flavor of the main ingredient. Staff were all very friendly and efficient. I didn't see plugs along the wall so you aren't able to do work here for a long time. Nice instrumental music in the background.

I stopped by this little café after my friend spotted it on Instagram and wanted to try their scones. I decided to pick some up as a gift for her, so this is a quick review focused on my pickup experience. When I arrived around 4:30 PM on a Friday, they only had 3 varieties of scones left on the cooling rack. I picked up the matcha, the cheese, and butter, all boxed to-go. The box was cute: square shape with clear film on top so you can see through, and white so it made it easy for gifting and was presentable. Pricing was $4.50 per non-cream scone (pre-tax), which feels a bit on the higher side for the size -- they seem a bit small without the cream & toppings. Although for my purpose that day, it was fine because the scones were going to be in transit and the cream would have probably spill everywhere. I did notice that none of the scones available at the time had the creams or toppings that I've seen in their social media posts or Yelp photos, which was a little disappointing. Since these were a gift, I can't personally speak to the taste--but I'm hoping they delivered! From what I could tell, their in-store cafe menu mainly highlights drinks, and there isn't a full display or listing of all the scone flavors they offer. It also seems like selection may depend heavily on timing which is why I'm holding back a star in my rating. Although it wasn't crowded, there was still a steady flow of customers. The ambiance was trendy and feels like it's a fun place for a coffee meetup. But just know that if you're coming specifically for scones and want more variety, it's probably best to visit earlier in the day. By late afternoon, options seem pretty limited. I might come back to try some scones for myself at another time, but so far from what I've seen available that day --nothing stood out for me. I could also see this being an opportunity for the café--especially heading into the weekend--to keep more scones stocked later in the day. A lot of people are out on Fridays and weekends and might want a midday treat or even an evening pairing with their matcha or tea. Having more variety available later could definitely help them capture more business. Tip: This place can be a little tricky to find within the plaza. I had to double-check both Apple Maps and Google Maps and still ended up calling the café for directions because circling around the parking lot was no fun. It's located right next to Yu's Mandarin, at the corner of the plaza. So if you find yourself heading toward Foot Finesse, you've gone too far-- turn back the other way. Bonus tip: I'm seeing now that they list their full scones selection on their website. The cream scones are an additional $2.

Our Experience was good, not great…read more We did some research about all of the local ice cream places and our kids picked Kurimu because it seemed to be the most unique. Initial impression wasn't great... The smell was really the main reason why. The shop itself definitely had a smell, I can't really describe what it was but it was not pleasant. There was one person working, he was polite but did not have much personality. Most of our questions were met with him telling us that we ordered "over there" as he points to the register. It just did not have a very welcoming energy. Only of our kids got ice cream as the flavors did not catch them like they had hoped it would. My Youngest got a coconut ice cream with waffle cone (she loved it), it was a subtle coconut flavor but very refreshing. My oldest daughter got a match drink w boba, hers was also good but not her favorite. I ended up getting the soft serve mix (Tofu/Black Sesame) which was definitely unique and I did enjoy it but no one else i was with did. After checking out, we were offered free stickers which was a nice gesture and I talked about their Japanese Car theme which seemed to liven up the man working momentarily. My family was not impressed but I enjoyed the experience. Very unique compared to what we are used to seeing. I would most likely return, but I am not confident my family would follow.

Our favorite was the Ube Oreo ice cream. It was super creamy, and the Oreo pieces were the perfect complement to the rich ube flavor. We also tried the tiramisu ice cream. It was good, but I personally didn't think it tasted much like tiramisu. That said, there were so many other flavors that caught my eye, so I'm excited to come back and try more. My sister ordered the jasmine milk tea, and she really enjoyed it. She especially liked that it wasn't overly sweet. Overall, this is a fun spot with unique flavors and a great selection. We'll definitely be back to try more!

Very disappointing experience at Tous Les Jours today…read more The service was extremely rude. The cashier (long black hair) she had an unfriendly attitude from the start--no greeting, no smile, and it felt like she was already irritated. What made it worse was how both the cashier and the owner spoke to me. They raised their voices instead of helping. There was a promotion for 3 bakery items for $5. I accidentally selected 7 items instead of 6, and I clearly told them multiple times that I only wanted 6 and did NOT want the extra item. Instead of fixing a simple mistake calmly, they kept raising their tone at me, which was unnecessary and uncomfortable. As a customer, I expect basic respect and professionalism. This situation could have been handled politely in seconds, but instead it turned into a negative experience. I won't be returning, and I hope management seriously works on customer service.

Review on the Tiramisu cake ONLY -…read more Come to TLJ for the pastries is my recommendation - tiramisu is definitely not their specialty and they have their own take on it that is no-rum, no ladyfingers, but rich cocoa powder, so if you're more into a milder, less sweet take on tiramisu, this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would go elsewhere for a more traditional one. It's also priced a bit above what I would consider its quality - the flour-based part of the cake was quite dry and didn't seem that fresh. But it comes with candles for a birthday! Otherwise, the service was great and interior is good for studying if you can in louder spaces. Parking available.
