I went here for the first Time yesterday as we were looking for a new Mediterranean restaurant to try. The menu has so many things that you can try that look amazing, so will definitely be back! We got the Dolmas, The hummus dip and The falafel bowl. To drink we got the fresh mint lemonade and it was the best mint lemonade we have had! I think I may have tried everything except the breakfast here. Huge fan of the sandwiches and hummus plates. The chicken kabobs are my favorite and the hummus is absolutely delicious. The staff and owner may be the best part though. I routinely came here when I was pregnant and they were so sweet. The girl at the front had them serve me pita bread before my dish was done when I was too nauseous to wait. And you really can't have a bad day with bottomless mimosas! read more

I came into Zaina's on a Wednesday afternoon. It was pretty empty, we got seated fairly quickly. The staff is friendly and very attentive towards us. My girlfriend and I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Nachos, Zaina's Chicken, and Greek Benedict. The nachos were a good appetizer, with lots of flavors. I just wish the nachos had a little bit more chicken but other than that they were pretty good. The Greek Benedict was good. It has a subtle flavor of Prosecco that pairs well with the eggs, and the hollandaise sauce. Zaina's Chicken was my favorite plate. The chicken was not dry, and it was full of flavor. The bread roll was toasty on the sides, and moist and soft in the middle. The fries that came with the sandwich were so pretty good too. I was looking for affordable Mediterranean food and I found it. The portions are generous. The people who work here are welcoming and friendly. We stayed past their closing time, yet they did not rush us. I don't drink alcohol, but a family member had a pineapple bellini. It's champagne mixed with pineapple juice. It was delicious. I had the baba ganoush appetizer. This is an eggplant dip served with pita bread. It had good flavor and consistency. The other dishes were flavorful and healthy. The dining room can accomodate large groups. Not all places can do that. If you want to bring a picky eater there, do. They have a varied menu, including breakfast all day. I would give this place more stars if I could! I went in on a Thursday night and there was hardly anybody there. The owner was basically a one man show with the cook. I sat down and he immediately came over to bring me my menu and suggest drinks. He was very attentive and helpful. I ordered tea and he even brought me more hot water for my multiple cups. He also came over several times to check on how everything was and if he could get me anything else - this was great because I can be pretty demanding. I ordered the falafel mezza plate and it was so good! Let me start by saying that I am very picky about my falafel, I have a lot of experience with excellent falafel and this one measures up. Nice and crisp on the outside and soft, but not too soft on the inside. It came with cabbage salad, tomatoes, feta, baba ghanoush, hummus and pita bread! I got a side of their hot sauce which was amazing! Everything was delicious and Wow it was SO filling. A great option for vegetarians. I ended up running out of pita bread and the owner promptly brought me more. The warm pita is fresh and tasty - which is probably why I ate way too much of it. I have not tried any of the breakfast items but I'll definitely be back to try those! I went to Zaina's Bellini Cafe in Cotati today and it was AMAZING. Like this place is truly a hidden gem and anyone that is local to Cotati or is in the area and needs a good spot - this is the one. The owner waited on us and was knowledgeable of their gluten and dairy free options which for me is always immediately a green flag. Everything is homemade - even the potatoe wedges! Literally had the best most authentic falafel of my life. All the sauces were great and like the hummus had so much flavor. They made us special pita like tortilla chips since we are gluten free and the lamb was phenomenal. I can't say enough good things. I was pretty excited to try this place out but was a fairly disappointed after eating there. It wasn't horrible but it was far from great. The pricing isn't crazy expensive but it's on the higher side. I ordered the gyro and the dried calamari and my wife ordered the lamb kabob plate. The flavor was good on the calamari but it was WAY over cooked. The actual squid had the texture of old shoe leather. Not your typical moist yet chewy when overdone but dried out and stale. The lamb in my gyro was very tender but also very bland. The kabobs my wife ordered had a nice char but again were well under seasoned and half of the lamb was medium and the other half was well done. Well done lamb sucks lemme tell ya. The most noticable part was....the hummus. The hummus was very bland. Pretty shocking that a Mediterranean restaurant with as many good reviews as they have can't make a decent hummus. I'm not saying I wouldn't give them another shot but it's fairly unlikely. read more

I was very surprised at how good the food was. I just got 2 gyro sandwiches. Each gyro is a mix of lamb and beef with tsziki sauce and lettuce etc. The pita bread was very soft and pliable. Very delicious. I had a choice of potato salad or fries. So I got one of each. I loved the potato salad. It was like a vinegar based pot sal, not mayo based which I was very happy to see. I'm not a fan of mayo. I can't quite pinpoint the flavor but I'm gonna say it's oregeno and parsley. So simple but just a great flavor. Each order was only $10 and well worth it. Way too small of a lot for a mall with 4 restaurants. The waitress highly recommended the eggs Benedict so I ordered that based on her suggestion. However, when it came out, the hollandaise looked very thick, orange, and unappetizing - almost like Nacho Cheese Sauce! It was also very, very sour. I couldn't taste the butter or egg yolks that it is usually made of. I scraped the sauce off and ate the rest. One of the worst eggs Benedict that I've ever had. Very disappointing. The chicken shawarma sandwich was tasty, but lacked salt. I ordered it with tzatziki sauce, but there was none on it. So another bust. However, the sandwich was very large! Meant for very hungry eaters. I'm not sure why the food wasn't very good, but the service, while friendly, was pretty bad. (New waiters?) The waitress was told we wanted something to go and she asked if we wanted to put the order in at the same time, or later, when the food arrived. We told her to put the order in closer to when we were leaving. Alas, the to-go food came wrapped and in a bag BEFORE we got our food to eat in the restaurant. Great, the sandwich and fries were soggy by the time we got home. I really wanted to love this place (I love Middle Eastern food), but Zaina Bellini was a huge disappointment. This is mostly a review on integrity. I bought a beef shawarma with a side of potato salad Togo and left 2$ on a 14$ bill. A total of 16$. While the wrap was decent and potato salad was bright and refreshing I was charged an additional 3$ on my credit card. I would recommend paying cash so that you will not be charged with a surprise amount. Unfortunately based on that I will not be dining here anymore. Red flag! That's what we came here to eat as we love this cuisine. The meat is tender and flavorful in the shawarma wrap, the fries are crispy and seasoned well, the falafel is best we ever tasted.
