Our first time here and location was good so was the inside decor. The service wasn't bad either, however, the food was a bit on the saucy side. It was swimming in its sauce. The veal marsala was overpowered by its sauce and quite frankly, the veal didn't really taste like Veal. The vodka sauce gnocchi was okay only for the breaded chicken. The gnocchi should have been softer, but I feel that it was probably frozen gnocchi that was de-frosted. It would have been nice to have more options because most of the items all had tomato sauce of some sort. A suggestion would be to have more food options that don't require tomato sauce for those that probably can't have it. But that's just my suggestion.

Always a treat coming here. We started off with fried calamari, which was crispy but could be seasoned more. For drinks, we had an iced tea and a cappuccino. The iced tea was just regular Lipton stuff nothing unique. For the main courses, we ordered the fettuccine primavera and the penne fussi, both dishes were flavorful, well-prepared, and most importantly, the portions were very generous. Definitely the kind of place where you don't leave hungry. I had the fussi upgraded with pesto cream which is a winner! Of course, we had to try dessert, so we went with the tiramisu and napoleon. They were on point not too sweet. Yes, like many places these days, things have gotten a bit pricey, but the portion sizes really help justify it. You're definitely getting good value for what you pay. One thing to note: they offer about a 3% discount if you pay with cash, which is a nice little bonus. Overall, great food, generous portions, and a solid dining experience. Would definitely come back!

For well over 20 years, I've been going to Café Baci, and the food has always been consistently delicious. Since I've been under the weather, we decided to order takeout today. Joe, who answered the phone, was professional and very courteous. My husband picked up the order and didn't have to wait at all--the food was ready when he arrived and was still hot when he brought it home. They even included pizza bread and cheese, which was a very nice touch. As always, the food was delicious and full of flavor. I also noticed today that the dine-in menu prices are lower than the takeout menu (for example, the penne caprese is $4 more and the seafood spaghetti is $10 more for takeout). Given the current situation, it's still quite reasonable. We usually dine in, except during the height of the pandemic, so I hadn't realized the difference before. My husband forgot to bring cash, so he paid by credit card and the total was a little over $2 more due to the card fee, which is very reasonable. They are very transparent and clearly let customers know the difference between cash and credit card pricing. After all these years, Café Baci remains one of our dependable restaurants. The food is consistently delicious, the service is friendly, and the staff always makes the experience pleasant. It's not easy for a restaurant to maintain this level of quality and service for so long, and Café Baci has done it wonderfully. We always enjoy coming back.

Cafe Baci is a staple. If you come on a Friday/Sat past 5:30 expect at least a 30 min wait. Portions are large, food is tasty and service is efficient but friendly. I was able to snag a seat at the bar and had a cocktail while I waited. We went with the calamari for an appetizer penne alfredo and the cafe baci which is seafood with pasta lobster tail, clams, shrimp and mussels in a red sauce. The calamari was a little on the bland side this time. Not sure I would order again bit my date enjoyed it great for friends, couples or groups looking for dinner out

Food: 5/5 We went for a family dinner so we ordered a bunch to share. We had the Calamari Fritti ($22), Pear Salad ($17), Cavatappi Secreto ($27), Penne Saporite ($29), Scampi Portofino ($32), and Chicken Parmigiana ($30). The portions were absolutely massive and they don't skimp out on the meat and seafood. The pastas were rich and very filling. I get the penne saporite and scampi portifino every time I go so I highly recommend those. Service: 5/5 The service is warm and professional. Staff members are attentive without hovering, quick to refill drinks, and helpful with menu recommendations. Even when it's busy, the pacing feels smooth and organized. You're treated like a valued guest, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Ambiance: 5/5 Cafe Baci has a warm, neighborhood Italian restaurant feel. It is cozy, welcoming, and lively. It's a great setting for family dinners or celebrations.

Pros: - Some of the best free bread on the island - Seated immediately on a Wednesday evening - AMAZING portion sizes, definitely shareable or enough to take home - All of the food exceeded our expectations! Chicken parm & spaghetti vodka in particular were perfect - Great service & attentive waitress No cons! Great family style Italian spot (and great value)

Cavatappi Secreto (pink tomato sauce and ricotta)

Wow I've been here several times but haven't left a review. They're so great especially in the neighborhood. Large portions and very good. Great for groups and for intimate settings. The pizza garlic bread they served was drool worthy, I had to have more. We ordered the mussels in white wine sauce which was always a hit! I had the cavatappi secreto which is on the heavier cream side but it was just what I wanted. The dollop of risotto added a different layer to the pasta. Delish. My husband ordered the scampi portofino - also delish and on the "light side" because of the lemon zest. The shrimps were cooked to perfection and jumbo sized.

The food here was amazing! For starters, the cheesy bread was piping hot and was so delicious that it was hard to not finish the basket. We had no willpower, we emptied the basket, every last crumb! My colleague and I shared a pear salad. It was a large serving. Even though we each took half, it was like we had our own order. I ordered the Baci Fra Diavolo with shrimp. The portion size was huge and the shrimp were enormous! I really loved the spicy red sauce. I ate half and had the remainder for dinner later that evening. My colleague ordered the Tortellini Amore. I had a bite a d thought his dish was delicious as well. This was our first time visiting this restaurant, and we were both very satisfied with our choice. Delicious food, warm ambience, and friendly service. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Be warned, the wait can be long. Why? Because they don't take reservations BUT if you time it right, you can be seated right away like we did when we went. Portions are huge and the food is delivered in a timely manner by friendly waiters. Well worth it!

I was visiting LI for a quick trip and we decided to stop by and get Italian before heading home. Cafe Baci has been a staple in the area since college years and it still does not disappoint to this day! Everything is made fresh and the portion sizes are incredible!! I had them package 1/2 the serving immediately because there was no way we could finish it all in one sitting. My eggplant parmigiana was absolutely delicious and my friends enjoyed their meals. Don't skip out on the Zucchini Fritati!! Don't miss your opportunity for a splendid evening and experience. P.S Part 2 for 2nd visit coming soon.

Cavatappi Secreto with diced meatballs, sausage, peas, ricotta.... Huge, you can share

It's been a million years since we have been here, a place that I had visited since leaving HS in the early 80's Unsure when they arrived but possibly around 1985 Heaping plates of pasta good enough to share. They can accommodate large and very large parties. Ok drinks, nothing to dream about and the smallest Negroni of the 1000 that I've had on many coasts. Disappointing for 16 dollars as was the 15 dollar spritz. Drink menu does not have prices but that's high for a small cocktail made in a glass for a bourbon pour and hardly a rocks glass. We sat on this makeshift outdoor patio that was lovely on a late August night but super load from the street, I would place some soundproof barrier.. Pasta was ok, large but the sausage and cut up meatballs were extremely sub par. I remember when it was Rickshaw Express !! And maybe an Arby's.

Casual italian dining with robust flavors! We love to come here with big groups and share. The portion size is huge and i love the service. Always a solid dinner spot if you are looking for a casual italian dinner night out. My favorite was the scampi portofino entree

I wanted to like it, I really did. To start, they didn't have any A/C today, on the hottest day of the year (6/24/25). Yes, that is on us for choosing to stay. My stepdad ordered a virgin strawberry daiquiri, and we were charged what appeared to be the price of a regular daiquiri. Prior to ordering I asked our waitress how much of an up-charge it would be to have chicken vodka parm instead of the regular chicken parm. She said it would be $5. I went ahead and ordered it, and it ended up coming out the regular way, and not how I ordered it. It took over 20 minutes for them to cook my dish the way I ordered it. That is extremely unreasonable. There were only two other tables and some people at the bar. We also continued to hear the chefs and other workers talk about my dish as it's a semi-open kitchen. Very unprofessional. Even after my dish came out wrong, our waitress never really came back. When she did all she said was "the kitchen is remaking your food." The manager never came over either. My stepdad ordered chicken Marsala and my fiancé ordered Mamma Mia which consisted of a meatball, lasagna and chicken parm. While they both enjoyed their food, it was unsettling that we were out for a family meal, and we weren't able to really eat our meals together. Our waitress said she only charged us "half" of the upcharge for the vodka sauce, but the bill still showed $5. When we asked she told us the upcharge is $8. But originally before we ordered she told us the upcharge was $5. $8 for a vodka sauce upcharge is absurd! I wouldn't return. The entire situation was handled very poorly.

How many dishes would you suggest for a family of 4?

My family (4 adults) always bring food home, the portions are hefty. Unless your family are big eaters, I would suggest three meals and share it

Are they good for groups ? Can they accommodate 20-25 people? Do they have a private room for groups ? Do they offer group packages?

I think the restaurant could accommodate it, because it has a whole back space where people sit but maybe give that it's such a large party they could accommodate? Call and find out!

When we called to change the time for our reservation, we were told it was no problem, and we could do whatever makes us happy; Just to come in and have a great time! When we got there we met Frank, who took care of us the entire night and also remembered speaking to us on the phone. He was so awesome and made us feel like we have been going there for years, when it was actually our first time! We told him we were going to a 7:00 show, and he not only got us out at the time we needed, but made us feel relaxed, never rushed and made sure we had an awesome experience, which we did! The food and service was exceptional! Everyone's entree was amazing! I can't say enough about how good this food was. I had the special which was sea bass, and it was so delicious and cooked perfectly. My husband had the chicken rollatini, also amazing! Everyone was so happy with their dishes, and loved everything they ordered. This place is so awesome that I wish it wasn't so far away from us. Frank told us they have music on Friday nights, and we are all going to go back at some point just for this restaurant. It is so worth the drive! The decor is also great, especially if you love Marylin Monroe, and the atmosphere is so relaxed you feel like you are eating in your own dining room at home! Thank you to Frank and the rest of the staff for a truly great dining experience! We will be back!
