Pasta with ragu and meatballs
Jennifer R.

This place has been on my list for awhile and so glad we finally tried it. Will definitely be back soon. I had the pasta ragu with meatballs and my husband had the spaghetti carbonara and fried zucchini. I also had a spritz. This place is worth the drive and can't wait to try other menu items. The table next to us had 2 different sandwiches that looked wonderful.

Been here twice so far and I must say, it's my new favorite pasta spot on Long Island. I love how you can make your own plate and mix n match. The food: I've only tried the bolognese with two different pastas, both fireee. I really enjoy the addition of carrots in the bolognese. The carbonara was delicious along with the lasagna. The veal and the celery in the lasagna make it unique. I highly recommend! The service is really friendly, they remember your faces and are quick! The ambiance is chill, never too packed and loud. It's perfect for a date or with anyone really. The bathrooms are also clean thankfully. Overall, super tasty authentic food with excellent service 5/5

Delicious Rigitoni Pesto lunch special. Amazing
Kevin S.

Nice place in Mineola to get fresh homemade pasta dishes. My first item I ordered was the Rigitoni Pesto. Delicious and I ordered during the lunch special which meant my lunch was just $12 One negative thing is a very small glass bottle of soda was $3.00. Other places you get a normal size bottle or glass with refills. Othen thank that I'll definitely be back there again.

Honestly really had higher expectations and was very disappointed. I wanted to like the place because the concept reminded me of the pasta place in Brooklyn. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and we were one the first customers. It was our first time and we were unsure how to order/where to sit. Customer service was fine - they explained we order at the counter first before sitting but were nice to let us sit and look over the menu prior to ordering. We ordered the fusilli with pesto, rigatoni with funghi e tartufu, polpette (meatballs) and their special spaghettoni with spicy cherry tomatoes sauce and stracciatella $22. The cheese was great. The meat was not memorable and the pastas ... ALL three were extremely salty. We thought it was just the first bite and it would mellow out but it was the whole dish and thus the disappointment. The table next to us left around the same time we did and they also said it was very salty. Hope it was just a fluke that day and not a consistent thing ...

New pasta bar in Mineola. Home made pasta, all different shapes, you pick the pasta then the sauces. The portions were good, but needed more protein besides chicken. The desserts were excellent tiramisu, torte and the cannoli all fresh and decent size. They give you bread with no butter and not enough sauce to dip it into. Ugh. Overall decent experience.

Such a cute new spot in Mineola! The food was so good, and the portions felt just right--people say it's small, but honestly, I think it's cozy. The fried artichokes were tasty (a pinch more salt wouldn't hurt), and my friend's carbonara with fettuccine had a great sauce. I went for the truffle mushroom fettuccine and loved it--the mushrooms were perfectly thin and bite-sized. The burrata salad was simple but fresh and yummy, and the rice ball was massive and super tasty. For dessert, we shared cannolis and cappuccino. The cannolis were delicious but tiny--two minis for $8 feels a little steep, but the flavor made up for it. Service was quick and friendly--food came out fast. You order right at the counter when you walk in, so I recommend grabbing a table first. The vibe reminded me of an IKEA cafeteria, but in the best, chill way possible. I'd totally go back and definitely recommend it!

The staff members are very friendly but I wasn't blown away by the food. The parmigiana di melanzane was ok and very small in portion for the price. The server brought us bread to dip into the sauce which was nice. Although I liked the texture of the rigatoni and the sauce was tasty but overall a little salty. The spaghetti was fine and the sauce was fine; could have more flavor. Nothing was bad, just not good enough for me to visit again as there are so many Italian restaurants to try.

Absolutely love every experience at Pastaru Pastificio--especially with their recent menu change. Every dish felt intentional, fresh, and packed with flavor. You can really tell they take pride in their pasta here, it's perfectly cooked and tastes like it's made in-house (because it is!!) The new menu brings such a fun, elevated twist while still keeping that authentic, comforting Italian feel. Everything we tried was a hit--rich sauces, high-quality ingredients, and beautiful presentation across the board. The atmosphere is cozy but still has that trendy, date-night energy, and the service was just as good as the food--friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Simone and his team are the BEST!!! This is one of those spots that you leave already planning your next visit. If you haven't been since the menu change, RUN back--you're seriously missing out.

We ordered take out and we were really expecting to be blown away because of all we had heard and unfortunately we were not. It was fine, pasta was yummy but the sauces were just ok. I got bolognese and friend got vodka sauce. Both were good, we liked it but nothing that would make me come back for. I'll probably it try once more to give it another shot.

Ashley M.

The freshest pasta I've ever eaten! Came for the lunch special. You're able to choose the shape of pasta and sauce you'd like for $15 and it comes with bread too! I got the fusilli pasta with vodka sauce. You can tell it is homemade from the texture alone. The sauce was so fresh too. It has a nice ambiance, but what set this apart was the customer service. The employees were so friendly and kept checking in to see how we were doing. I will definitely be back soon!

Pastaru Pastificio, a pick-your-pasta that's cooked right in front of you joint (been in operation just under 4 months) is a warm, family-owned restaurant with friendly staff and attentive service. All the items were very tasteful and well-prepared, reflecting the care and authenticity you expect from a family-run outfit. Also items were priced appropriately priced for the quality and portion sizes. That said, was bit disappointed when they told the fresh pasta making stopped for the night (we went there at 7p) which was something I was looking forward to. Also disappointing was to learn they don't have any veggie option like primavera. Nevertheless, with few tweaks to add more veggie choices and extended fresh pasta making hours, this place could easily be a neighborhood favorite. Simone, must have been my fat finger that caused the error which I didn't even realize until you pointed out. My sincere apologies for that oversight. With respect to complimentary dessert and singing for birthday, I consider them as customary which I do not generally include in my review because i don't want customers to think my reviews are biased because of those special favors

Delicious homemade made pasta at the right price!! Nice bottle of wine and a hot latte at the end to top off 2 great meals. The bolognese and the Penne were both delicious. Very nice staff on this Saturday afternoon.

Not sold. I might give it another opportunity, I might not. The food I got to go was not the best when I got home. I love Italian but ordering from the app and not knowing the sauces are not the best option for first time customers. I got add on's. Which was chicken cutlet(1) meatballs (2) and shrimp(4) not a lot and the sauce was not a lot for the one that I did get with sauce, bread was hard. the location looks nice but would I try it again is the question. And to be honest I'm not sure. I threw the chicken cutlet and fettuccini in the garbage. It was horrible even if I added sauce the chicken was terrible

When ordering online, you pay by credit card using PayPal (PP). This isn't a big deal as I've had a PP account for over a decade, so nothing too inconvenient for me. Secondly, since my PP account is so old, I overlooked correcting my shipping info on it prior to submitting my order to NY Ravioli. So, I immediately realized the error in my ways and sent an email to NY Ravioli informing them of the needed correction (mind you that I placed my order after 9pm west coast time, which is after 12am east coast time). I then received a very courteous call the next morning after 9am from a very friendly person confirming my current contact info, and assuring me that my requests will be honored in a timely manner! This kind of attentiveness is expected, but impressive nonetheless. Before the call ended, I was given a timeline of when my order would be shipped and delivered (24hrs after being shipped!). Now to the product, I have yet to use the pasta and ravioli that I bought, but so far all looks appetizing! There is nothing like fresh authentic Italian pasta! Oh, and the dry ice in the cooler that the items were shipped in stayed true to form. Everything was still frozen after a 3,000+ mile trip! And not frozen like a freezer, but frozen like a luxury freezer-- there's a difference. No freezer burn! No frost bite! No excessive frost! This didn't affect the integrity of the items and their freshness by the way. The only con- I ordered cheese w/ broccoli ravioli for the kiddos, but received only plain cheese ravioli. Not a big deal for me personally, though I would like to get the products that I order! I also would have liked to receive a tracking number in an email confirmation or something. Never got that at shipping. All in all, I love my experience and STILL give them 5 stars because of all the things that they did well. If after all items have been eaten I'm less satisfied, I'll update my post. If you don't see an update after May 1, 2013, I must still be very satisfied and therefore recommending 100% that you do business with these folks.

Unfortunately, I never know when they have it on the menu for takeout. What I don't like about them is that the only menu they have is the catering one. Each time I go, I never know how much I'm spending or what they have on their menu for take out orders (when is there lasagna?). I've also heard their eggplant parm and chicken parm heros are good. It was meat ravioli, and they were very small and petite. The broth was piping hot and lacked a little flavor. I added pepper and grated cheese, which helped it a lot. The waiter recommended their zingarra chicken. And my partner had ravioli which is their specialty my partner is a ravioli aficionado and she didn't take the leftovers home which really told me something. The chicken I had was delightful hot tasty delicious and no real complaints here. I ordered a soda. It was four dollars and no free refills, quite disappointing All in all the food was at four but then I got the bill for a broth soup two entrées and a soda it was $105. Clearly this is why people can't go out for dinner anymore $105 for 10 raviolis and a chicken breast wow I thought food cost had to be 1/3 of the price $34 for a chicken cutlet that chicken cutlet wasn't $10. This is why the restaurant got a Three. I would come back, but I just can't afford this restaurant
