Ginger tea, Persian fragrance tea, and saffron rosewater cake
Peg S.

A cozy, quaint cafe serving light eats and warming drinks. When we stopped by on a cool, rainy day, it was bustling, crowded and steamy inside but service never wavered and patrons looked content. The ginger tea was the best I ever had - full mason jar filled with ginger (lemon, thyme and honey), enough to last for multiple teas. I envied my companion's Persian fragrance tea, which looked amazing, with blossoms floating atop it. The lentil soup came out as a comforting huge bowl and nicely spiced. The saffron rosewater cake was delicious, with a delightful, slightly sweet and fragrant flavor.

The place is BUMPING and with good reason. Delicious meals and even more delicious drinks. I dream of the Persian Fog. It is both delicate and utterly drinkable by the gallon. I highly recommend stopping here on the way to/from the Montréal Musée de Beaux Arts. It is so much more delicious than the museum café.

Soup of the day with iced latte

Cozy cafe with plenty of seatings and wall plugs for those of us who wfh or are students. I got their soup of the day which was with lentils and that made me buy lentils on the my next trip to the supermarket. Their iced latte was pretty standard. Overall, a good cafe to hang out or study or work.

Iced Persian dogs with Chicken Koukou and Falafel sandwiches

I came to Café Aunja twice, the first time getting the hot Persian Fog, mostly because I didn't know that I could ask for it iced. While it was a very warm afternoon, I truly enjoyed my tea and wanted to return to try it cold. The second visit, my sister and I both got the iced version of the Iranian tea with milk, saffron syrup, and crushed pistachios. In addition, she got the Falafel sandwich and I got the trio with the Chicken Koukou Sandwich, lentil soup (soup of the day), and the house lemonade (the drink for my kiddo). Rather than the front of the café, which is where we sat the first time, we got a table to the back. We discovered that there's where the air conditioner is running, so if you're particularly hot (and let's be honest, sweaty), you may find it easier to cool and dry off in the back. The sandwiches were delicious, served on Persian flatbread. The soup was served in a bowl and was a very generous portion. My son loved his lemonade (with mint leaves) and my sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our iced Persian Fogs. The ambiance is quite lively, with some people there to catch up and drink coffee or tea with their conversation mate. There are others studying, so the space isn't obnoxiously loud. Service is friendly and efficient. You can tell the employees working there are used to high traffic, and even in the tight space behind the register, they move with harmonious fluidity. I'll be back!

A very cosy, intimate cafe that makes you forget you're in the heart of the city. You'll feel like you've travelled through space and time as this traditional Iranian cafe serves incredible and delicious traditional drinks(hot and cold), pastries, and food. It seems very popular (for good reason, trust us) as it's been absolutely packed with people each time we've been. We love the comfortable eclectic decor, and the feeling of homey Persian tradition that reigns. They also have a brunch that we absolutely need to try because it seems to be an experience on its own.

Wonderful cozy ambiance. Self seating but can reserve ahead of time. Delicious food, very friendly staff. Brunch food was my favorite. Teas are delicious and fragrant- a little hot for the mason mugs they come in

Persian fog, saffron & rosewater cake, orange & almond cake, Persian fragrance tea

This Persian cafe is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is warm and cozy. On the wall, they have all these jars of herbs and flowers used for their teas. The Persian fragrance tea comes in a glass jar. The flower pink petals of roses and green leaves are so beautiful! The roses may have a slight bitterness. I couldn't decide which cake to choose. After my cousin ordered the saffron cake, I decided to order the orange cake so that we could taste both of them. When the cakes arrived at the table, wow! The portions are generous! The saffron & rosewater cake is what you need if you love sweet desserts. Soaked in rosewater syrup, this cake is moist with a nice aroma of roses. On the other side, the orange & almond cake is less sweet with a fruity side from the slices of oranges. I loved this cafe so much, I will definitely be back again!

Iced persian fog latte was the highlight--very aromatic and creamy at the same time. Breakfast platter was also great, liked the beans especially! Would've loved to try the olive cake as well (but I was full). Great cafe with unique drinks + standard coffees

Definitely recommend the place. The Persian fog tea and the saffron cake were mind blowing. The grilled vegetable sandwich, broad bean koukou and the lentil soup were also good. Very vegetarian friendly place. The line for ordering was really long and had to wait over 20min to just order food. However the food itself was super quick. Beautiful cafe and the decor was really pretty

The food was great! I loved the options they had. The servers were great bringing your drinks and food to the table and also coming to pick it up when you're done:) also great work place too!

In terms of aesthetic, this place is undeniably cute but in terms of covid protocol and customer care they get a low ranking. I go there often, and was saddened by bad customer service. Firstly, the waitresses do remove their mask when at the cash register. The place is overflowing with people and has no air movement. That made me feel uncomfortable. Secondly, and what was even more upsetting to me, they have bad customer service. Generally they don't greet you and really take themselves very highly. I get it, again the location and aesthetic is cute. When I was served a drink that was essentially all orange syrup, they were outraged by me not liking it and claimed no one ever in the history of the shop had complained. When I said that it was 75% sugar, it was truly not drinkable. I asked for something else in exchange ... they didn't even offer to dilute it. Instead and they gave me a reallly tough time and were very rude. In the end the woman agreed, after a really unpleasant back and forth to give me tiny bottle of water in exchange for the $6 drink that was just not drinkable. It could have been something as simple as the person who made the order went too heavy on some of the ingredients... Basically... go there to get a drink but don't expect good customer care and go there to get something you know you will like, not to try something different. I find that they rely mostly on the aesthetic and location which is unfortunate (but expected). During Covid, I would never stay inside of their shop and therefore it is not the place I would recommend most in the area for a good drink to go.

The is place was popping when my friend and I came here. It's such a cute, cozy, cafe that's great for doing some work or just hanging out with friends. I tried the persian fog and it was just what I was looking for -- a warm, lightly sweet drink with a nice aroma

It can get busy and the lines form out the door, but the pastries and coffee are worth it. We ordered the chocolate and pistachio filled croissants and donuts. I would rate both chocolate and pistachio filled croissants a 9/10 and the donut versions of each a 7/10. I felt the croissants tasted better and had more filling. We ordered the Remix which is authentic freddo expresso, cafe crema soft serve and topped off with hot frothed milk and chocolate. This was a 10/10 and was every bit of amazing as it looks in the picture. Service was fast and friendly. One note, they don't have flavored coffees, so I couldn't order a caramel latte, for example. Overall, great coffee shop that we enjoyed every day during our stay.

We ordered a hot chocolate, cappuccino, tiramisu, and an affogato, and every single item exceeded expectations. The hot chocolate was rich, smooth, and indulgent without being overly sweet -- pure comfort in a cup. The cappuccino was perfectly brewed with bold espresso flavor and beautifully textured milk, exactly how a great Italian-style coffee should be. The highlight of our visit, without question, was the affogato. It was hands down the best I've ever had. The pistachio gelato was unbelievably creamy, nutty, and flavorful, and when paired with the hot espresso, it created an unforgettable balance of temperature and taste. It was truly out of this world and worth the visit on its own. To finish, the tiramisu was light, perfectly layered, and not overpowering -- a flawless end to an already incredible experience. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and authentic. Café Olimpico isn't just a café -- it's an experience. Exceptional quality, consistency, and passion in every cup and dessert. Highly recommended, and absolutely a place we'll keep coming back to.

My husband and I went to Cafe et Crepe for breakfast on our latest trip to Montreal. I got the roast beef crepe ($15.95) which comes with roast beef, bell peppers, cheese, spinach and usually onions, but I asked them to omit it. My husband got the turkey, cheese and egg crepe ($15.95). All savoury crepes come with a side salad. I asked for the dressing on the side and was told that's not possible because the salads are pre-dressed. Bummer because I find pre-dressed salads over-dressed for my tastes and double bummer because the dressing contained poppy seeds, which I can't eat :( Food was not wasted though, my husband ate my salad, lol. The crepes are regular wheat crepes not the buckwheat Breton-style crepes. They were tasty though and I liked that they were not stingy with the fillings. The peppers in my crepe were nicely al dente and were plentiful. The roast beef was deli meat, but there was a good amount. I had a taste of my husband's crepe and it was good too. The turkey was also deli meat. The salad had kale, carrots, red cabbage and corn kernels. My husband thought it was ok. It was drenched in dressing. Service was satisfactory. The ambiance is very casual. There's a television streaming sports. It's in an aged building that it shared with other businesses such as a spinning or was it Pilates (?) studio. The washrooms are up a flight of creepy stairs in the building (you have to exit the back of the restaurant). The place seemed to be popular with tourists. We sat at the front away from the crowds, but the back was full. They also have outdoor seating if you prefer to dine Al fresco. Street parking only, which I imagine would be a pain to find. We were carless on our trip so just walked there. (114)

It's really hard to mess up a crepe because usually the stars are the ingredients inside of the crepe. The cafe in itself doesn't look like much, but it was full of people, and they make a very good crepe here. I ordered something you don't normally see in menus, and that's a mochaccino. Whatever chocolate they use it is fantastic, really good quality. I'm thinking about it in lamentation because I know that unless I make it myself, I probably wont stumble across one as good as that was. Then came the crepe. It had goat cheese, mozzarella, spinach, and egg. So massive that I was already full by the time I ate half of it. It came with this sauce or Dijon dressing that knocked my socks off good. Also tried the sweet crepe and that was amazing as well. What a delightful breakfast before a full day of activities in old Montreal! I'd highly recommend it.

What a little oasis in the city, loved my experience here!…read more I stumbled across this cafe while visiting and I could tell it looked like a popular local spot. There was a small line but the wait was short. I ordered a cappuccino and a BLT bagel sandwich. Both were really great. The cappuccino was one of the best ones I've had on my trip. The beans they picked were good, and the milk was steamed perfectly. The BLT bagel sandwich really caught me by surprise. I honestly wasn't expecting too much. They did such a good job balancing all the flavors and it didn't feel like a heavy sandwich like some BLT sandwiches can be. The general feel of the cafe is very cozy and comfortable. The window in the front let in amazing light, making the cafe such an inspirational spot (would be amazing to spend a day in there working). There were also plants everywhere and the greenery is such a nice touch. They even had fresh flowers on every table (so rare to find these days). The staff were super friendly. You ordered at the counter, get your number for the table, and the staff members would bring you your food. I was there in the morning and everyone had a smile on their face. The space seemed to uplift everyone's mood in there. I had such a great first time impression of this place and I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.
