When Pikolo moved out of this space, many of us wondered what would replace it. After some waiting time, Mintar appeared! I was quite happy it would remain a cozy coffee shop, and even more happy that it would showcase some delicious Middle Eastern treats. I went in recently because I was attracted by their sign outside advertising for sahlab, which is rarely found in coffee shops in Montreal. It was a cold day - perfect for a hot cup of comfort! Service was courteous and fast. The drink was offered with crushed pistachios (I declined cinnamon), which blended perfectly with the flavour of rose water. Thickness of the drink was great, and it wasn't too sweet. I'm looking forward to see them take their place in the neighborhood, and to try their sandwiches!

This spacious welcoming cafe owned by two brothers which opened three months ago is definitely one to put on your short list. The music is perfect in both tune and volume and there is seating on two levels. They have a precise chalkboard menu with a full range of coffees and sub sandwiches fitting for breakfast and later in the day. The place is pristinely clean and well cared for. The owners are Middle Eastern and very personable. Another standout is there ceiling is very high which makes the place very airy and open. This makes it a perfect place to meet, work or study. I wish them well in becoming a fixture in the coffee bar scene and rumour has it they will be getting a smoothie machine tomorrow, so watch for new menu offerings soon. Keep up the great work! PS They also have Qatayef on the menu which is another rose water infused semi-sweet mini crepe treat. Can't wait to try it!

Best Mocha in the world. Absolutely fabulous pancakes as well. Friendly service right near McGill and the Palace des Artes metro.

I got the Shashoka and French toast and cinnamon roll croissant. Very good! Food came out quickly…read more It was very busy, but there was plenty of seating.

What a little oasis in the city, loved my experience here!…read more I stumbled across this cafe while visiting and I could tell it looked like a popular local spot. There was a small line but the wait was short. I ordered a cappuccino and a BLT bagel sandwich. Both were really great. The cappuccino was one of the best ones I've had on my trip. The beans they picked were good, and the milk was steamed perfectly. The BLT bagel sandwich really caught me by surprise. I honestly wasn't expecting too much. They did such a good job balancing all the flavors and it didn't feel like a heavy sandwich like some BLT sandwiches can be. The general feel of the cafe is very cozy and comfortable. The window in the front let in amazing light, making the cafe such an inspirational spot (would be amazing to spend a day in there working). There were also plants everywhere and the greenery is such a nice touch. They even had fresh flowers on every table (so rare to find these days). The staff were super friendly. You ordered at the counter, get your number for the table, and the staff members would bring you your food. I was there in the morning and everyone had a smile on their face. The space seemed to uplift everyone's mood in there. I had such a great first time impression of this place and I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.
