When I discovered this coffee shop on Th3rdwave, I really think that it's such a hidden gem! The colourful exterior wall of the coffee shop attracted me immediately, and the interior decor was as amazing! The owner of the coffee shop is a Hispanic lady, she seemed to be a passionate and lovely business woman! I spent my afternoon in the coffee shop, reading, writing and drawing. Their coffee and sandwich were great, but obviously the best in town, yet another thing that is super cool here is that they have an ice-cream bar! I haven't had the chance of trying their homemade ice-cream/ gelato, it will be my next goal when I will be back!

Wanted to find a place to relax and catch up with some friends and Oh My Deer was it! (Owner informed me that Cafe M changed the name to Oh My Deer.) Two great things about it was fresh baked goods and non caffeinated choices! The amazing Columbian owner just put out some fresh bread pudding in the afternoon, which I couldn't say no to. Have to say the bread pudding was perfect on the sweetness scale especially when I prefer lower sweetness than most Americans. The owner even informed me that a simple syrup could be drizzled on top for a little more sweetness, which I couldn't say no. Yum! Crunchy on the outside and chewiness for the center. Order it! For the drink side I ordered something called Aromatica, which was amazing for a cold day. It was a hot berry infused drink that gives you memories of summertime on a cold day. Just a hint of fruit infusion with sweet berries right after you finish drinking. Next time I am in the area this is a place to come and relax with a book.

    Just don't bother.

Terrible service. Weak coffee. The food is neither fresh or well prepared. On the plus side there was nobody else in it which should have got is served quickly. I wish we'd waited in line for a better place.

Great cafe and delicious food. Some of the best cappuccinos we ever had. Atmosphere is great, and cozy.

I first came to this place after seeing a picture my friend posted on Instagram of what looked like epic coffee. The day my boyfriend and I planned to go, he came back from his run in the morning saying he had stopped by with a friend and was blown away. This made me even more excited to check it out. We went around 3pm on a Saturday and the place was pretty full. Despite this, we were immediately greeted by the owner, and he personally took our orders. We just showed him the picture, apparently it was the chemesc option. He also made sure to ask if I wanted my milk warmed up or not. I was blown away by both the quality and presentation of the coffee. There was enough coffee in our big chemesc to have about 3 teacups each- a really great value. I also had a green tea muffin and my boyfriend had a hot chocolate which we enjoyed. I returned on Monday afternoon in order to do some work. The place was pretty quiet, a few other students working. I ordered the matcha latte. To be honest, I didn't like it that much. Since I was there so long, I decided to order a chai latte which was delicious and made up for the mediocre matcha latte. The owner was so sweet and kept asking me how my work was going, what sort of student I was, and he even brought me a free orange cranberry muffin. I will definitely be returning here often to do work, or to just have a delicious treat. The service, quality, and atmosphere cannot be matched!

Great little spot with healthy menu options and good coffee. The bagel burger is a spectacular creation featuring a variety of sautéed vegetables (zucchini, squash), kale, and your choice of bacon or ham. Excellent value here. Not particularly English friendly, so it is good to know what you want ahead of time and be clear with the staff. Otherwise, I'd recommend Code Black up Saint Laurent.

Cozy little cafe, great ice cream sandwiches and tasty coffee. Books and plants keep you company, very cute :-)

Like, if you have a small space and want to convert it to a café, *this is what you should do*. Cozy colour scheme, many seating options (counter, small and large tables), small bookshelf. The actual food was fine - matcha latte a bit pale, croissant that was much closer to a brioche (but would have been an excellent brioche). Bugs were pretty annoying (but it was the summer).

The coziest little cafe tucked away on Duluth, featuring great food and excellent WiFi. The couple who owns the place is super friendly. It's a bit small but there's plenty of seating, and the jazzy music is upbeat but not loud. Great low-key spot to grab lunch and get some work done.

I got two sandwiches for take away and we couldn't even bring ourselves to eat them. They were a soggy mess by the time I got home (which is a 5 min walk). The ingredients are most certainly not fresh. A huge waste of $22

This place no longer exists. It is now a smoothie shop and was not open for breakfast on a Friday morning.

We stayed…read moreat Le Mount Stephen Hotel without doing much research on dining options, assuming we'd just find something nearby. But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

While the restaurant is highly celebrated and located within a Michelin-recognized hotel building, it does not hold a Michelin star of its own. But it is extremely classy. We decided to do lunch instead of dinner and it was a little more our speed, but if very, very attentive waitstaff is not your thing and $200 for lunch I'd skip this spot. We went because it had reviews for amazing beef Wellington and my husband hadn't had any in decades. And we were on vacation so let's go! The food was beautifully plated and service was impeccable inside of an amazingly decorated dining room that looked like a library in a mansion. The meals themselves weren't obscenely expensive but add a glass a wine, bread (it was not included) and coffee and it put us close to $200. But it was a great experience and I had never had beef Wellington - it was melt in your mouth good. Might go again next time we come up from CT.

The server seated us without warning, and when we went to order, each item we requested had run out. No Cuban, no chicken melt, no several other delicious sounding things. She gave us 10 more minutes to look over the menu and come up with a plan B. Truthfully I wanted to jump ship, but couldn't because our drink orders were already in, and I was captain of this gastronomic journey. We'd set sail without proper forecasting! We settled on the baked egg and salmon bowl, neither what we were exactly craving. The baked egg was fairly tasty, a shakshouka-esque experience accompanied by rustic bread for hasty dipping. The salmon bowl was excellent, with delicious dressing, but the salmon portion was oh-so-meager. It made me wonder if the lunch rush had given the kitchen such a beating that they had split my salmon filet in half and served it to me and my neighboring table friend. Check out my photo and tell me if that portion seems right? The lore says Michael Jordan worked his rear off every game because he always told himself there was probably at least one kid in the stands who came there to see THE Michael Jordan. Well this kid in the stands caught Olive et Gourmando taking the night off. There is a risk for peril if you choose this restaurant, especially if you are in Montréal for a limited time!

The bar is first come, first served, so if you forget to book ahead, it's definitely worth trying your luck. You can still order anything from the full menu. The modern, upscale interior sets the tone for a fancy brunch experience that feels both elegant and welcoming. Foie gras for breakfast? Absolutely yes. They also have a full bar for anyone who wants something pretty to sip on while enjoying their meal. The servers were bilingual in French and English, and they were kind, attentive, and made the whole experience smooth from start to finish. My goal was to eat as much foe grais as I can on this trip so I ordered the Foie Gras Poached Eggs. OMG starting off with the bread that was on the bottom, it was so soft and fluffy. Literally melted in my mouth. The foie gras had a beautiful sear and was rich and silky, with a texture that honestly reminded me of ice cream. There was also a touch of sweetness in the sauce that cut through the richness in the best way. Every bite was perfectly balanced. I was super impressed and will absolutely try to visit again the next time I'm in Montreal.
