This is a small cafe with a small selection of croissants and pastries. But it gets the job done. 2 very delicious Cafe au lait (with milk designs) and two croissants hit the spot on this Labor Day morning 2022. Only bad thing - more than a few flies landing on all the clean cups.

We arrived 10 mins before Pikolo was open and there was already a line up starting to form. We were second or third in line. I ordered a chai latte and a chocolate croissant. B got the ice cold coffee and a chocolate croissant. The croissant looks like it was made elsewhere and brought over. They make the drinks on the spot. My chai latte was super delicious. B was impressed with their ice cold brew coffee. He said it was made with high quality beans. Pricing is average. Seating is super limited here. Also there is no ac inside which means the place does get really hot especially in the summer time. They do have a bench outside for those who wants to sit in the sun. Overall, good coffee and I highly recommend trying this place.

Matcha Latte with Oat Milk

The matcha here is good, very matchay, usually other stores hide it by using a lot of milk, not here! I prefer to taste the matcha, so this is pretty good. The baristas were pretty nice, they made me a coffee with a bunny foam art. It was very cute. The place has a very nice vibe with the sun coming in through the windows.

Time for an update, because our beloved Pikolo has moved to its new and good looking location! Just a few minutes walk from its former space on Du Parc, it is now across the Parterre du Quartier des Spectacles, replacing an ice cream/ice pop shop. The interior looks newer, with more light. A bit less cozy, a bit less academia, but serving the same good brew and bakes! An exciting new chapter for one of the most beloved coffee shops in the neighbourhood. Don't think they disappeared! They're close by and as wonderful as ever!

Best latte in Montréal. After days of watered down coffee in Quebec, Pikolo was a much needed Java jolt to my system. Now the plain coffee tends to be fruity, the cappuccinos and lattes are simply devine. But those pastries are the true underdog here. Sent to Pikolo by the cafe gods themselves. Try them all, one day at a time if need be.

Small quaint coffee shop. Not a ton of seating, but if you're lucky you'll find a spot. I've been trying coffee around the Ontario area during my vacation from Toronto to Quebec and this has been my favorite so far. The staff are nice and the ambience is great.

Cappuccino and Kouing-Amann pastry

We visited during the International Jazz festival weekend in the afternoon. The space is had a few tables and many large windows with great lighting. I had a cappuccino with soy and my wife had Pikolo capaccino (small). The small cappuccino was a little strong but my regular cappuccino was excellent. It was smooth, foamy, and with a subtle sweetness that likely came from the soy. We also had a delicious Kouing-Amann pastry and paired well with the drink. The staff was kind and we received our orders quickly. Highly recommend!

According to Yelp and what I've read on the internet, Pikolo is considered by many, including cafe owners, to be one of the best cafes in Montreal. This place was close to our Airbnb so we stopped by here to grab some coffee on our way to an early lunch at Schwartz's. Pikolo is located in the Milton Park neighborhood of Montreal (a.k.a. the McGill Ghetto), very close to McGill University, downtown Montreal, and the borough of Ville-Marie. Two things stuck out about this place to me: 1. There's no Wi-Fi, at least, not during our visit. A couple had just placed their orders and settled in at a table upstairs, with their laptops out and ready to work, when they found out there's no Wi-Fi. Needless to say, they were upset. Annoyed, one of them said words to the effect of, "Is this place so hipster, they don't feel the need to have Wi-Fi? We should have gone to Starbucks." While I didn't have a need for Wi-Fi in this instance, I do think all cafes should offer Wi-Fi. It seems pretty standard to me, especially nowadays. I searched Pikolo's Yelp reviews for "Wi-Fi" and it looks like Pikolo offered it years ago, but apparently not anymore. 2. There's no air conditioning. We visited on a warm day and it was uncomfortably warm/hot inside, especially upstairs. This coffee shop is tiny. I guesstimate there's seating inside for about 25 customers max, mostly at small two-tops. Even if they had Wi-Fi, I don't think this place is conducive for work/study. It's just too small and, when busy, too cramped. Some of the tables are right next to the ordering line. This place is best for a quick meetup or on-the-go coffee/a bite to eat. Criticisms aside, I did like the look and feel of the place. It's got a distinct, throwback, worn-and-weathered, warehouse/loft style to it. My matcha latte ($3.70) was good. It was served hot and unsweetened in a glass. The latte art was beautiful. The quality of the latte and ingredients was very good. My friends got various espresso-based drinks and snacks. Pikolo uses single-origin coffees. Most of their drinks, one size only, ranged in price from $2.61 to $3.70 each. Their coffee (and tea) selection spans the globe from China to England to Ethiopia. There was a small display at the counter with some French and Jewish pastries and artisanal breads from local bakery Hof Kelsten; things like cookies, croissants, muffins, and scones. Pikolo also sells coffee-making products or related accessories like the AeroPress, Hario V60, and reusable KeepCups. Service was fine. Some employees were friendlier than others. We didn't stay long so I had my latte poured into a disposable cup on the way out. I'd come back, but would prefer to check out other coffee shops in Montreal first.

Wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Excellent rich coffee and delicious pastries. Friendly staff and a great place to restore. Had an everything +cheese croissant and a savory feta scone. Outstanding. We walked a ways to get here and it was totally worth it.

Came on a Friday morning for some coffee with a friend. Seating is a bit limited but luckily we were able to find a spot. The barista helped us with our order and even gave us recommendations. Everything was prepared really quickly and I'd say that pricing is fair. Overall, the drinks were good, the ambiance was good, and service was great. I also liked that there were dairy-free options available. Definitely would recommend trying this place out!

This place is adorable! I went there on a Monday afternoon at 4:50 PM (10 min before close time). They have a decent seating area if you want to study/work. They are also very well located and parking around isn't impossible to find (park further on Parc). The prices are average for an independent coffeeshop (around 4.50$ a latte) The employee that served me was patient, helped me choose my drink and told me a little bit about the coffeeshop's history, etc. I ordered two lattes, one with soy milk and one normal. Both were exquisite! Can't wait until COVID is over to go study there :)

Took small mocha and latte this time. Creamy and out of the world once again. If you live around mcgill ghetto, this place is a must try.

Pikolo Espresso Bar is THE one! The best espresso drink we had for our weekend in Montreal as we looks for a good cup of espresso. Cappuccino ($3.48) & Gibraltar ($3.04) both nicely done. My first time ever tried Gibraltar which is a double shot of espresso with just a touch of milk. The drink was strong and really gave me the boost I needed! The cappuccino was strong but yet mellowed by the nicely foamed milk. Pikolo has this really laid back vibe. Free wifi and tons of outlets. High ceiling and with a lot of windows letting natural light in! I can stay here and sip on my coffee for a long timeeeeeeeeeeeeee..............

Not far from the heart of the city but quiet and off the beaten path. Great coffee and great service. Pastries are very good as well.

Very good coffee with a small pastry selection. I had a nice flat white and my son enjoyed his cappuccino.

Good morning place for coffee. Great service. Apple Turnover and peach turn over with coffee was my go to in the week stay in Montreal.

It can get busy and the lines form out the door, but the pastries and coffee are worth it. We ordered the chocolate and pistachio filled croissants and donuts. I would rate both chocolate and pistachio filled croissants a 9/10 and the donut versions of each a 7/10. I felt the croissants tasted better and had more filling. We ordered the Remix which is authentic freddo expresso, cafe crema soft serve and topped off with hot frothed milk and chocolate. This was a 10/10 and was every bit of amazing as it looks in the picture. Service was fast and friendly. One note, they don't have flavored coffees, so I couldn't order a caramel latte, for example. Overall, great coffee shop that we enjoyed every day during our stay.

We ordered a hot chocolate, cappuccino, tiramisu, and an affogato, and every single item exceeded expectations. The hot chocolate was rich, smooth, and indulgent without being overly sweet -- pure comfort in a cup. The cappuccino was perfectly brewed with bold espresso flavor and beautifully textured milk, exactly how a great Italian-style coffee should be. The highlight of our visit, without question, was the affogato. It was hands down the best I've ever had. The pistachio gelato was unbelievably creamy, nutty, and flavorful, and when paired with the hot espresso, it created an unforgettable balance of temperature and taste. It was truly out of this world and worth the visit on its own. To finish, the tiramisu was light, perfectly layered, and not overpowering -- a flawless end to an already incredible experience. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and authentic. Café Olimpico isn't just a café -- it's an experience. Exceptional quality, consistency, and passion in every cup and dessert. Highly recommended, and absolutely a place we'll keep coming back to.
