This is what you dream of in a coffee shop. Staff is friendly and helpful. As I was eating they greeted most of the people by name and knew their orders. I wish I lived here, so I could be a regular. So after strolling some streets and passing up coffee shop after coffee shop, I decided to drop in here really quickly before heading to the park. I grabbed an iced white mocha, and li2358sh4*@nasdf it was the best white mocha I've had in my entire life. The price was also fantastic. Only downside was that they didn't accept cards, so I've got to work on carrying more cash around with me if I want to stop here. I had an Americano and a breakfast bagel with everything. The bagel was very tasty. It had garlic olive oil, cheddar cheese, red peppers, zucchini, cream cheese, scrambled egg and hot sauce. So good. This unassuming cafe is a home away from home for those trapped out in the rain. The spicy soup and toasted bagel rejuvenated my soggy self, and together with the comfy furniture and the welcoming staff (population one), I found myself restored and at ease. Faizel, the owner, is a spicy character - I like his forward straight up style of communication. What you see is what you get. He's got some degrees in psychology and sociology - and he gives straight up wise advice too. I know a lot of customers talk to Faizel cuz he's a good listener and does what he can to help out. I'm one of those peeps. Like the turkey sandwich there - under $5 - ask him to toast the bread and add the hot sauce. Totally yummy and always saves me when I'm in a bind for food. Free wireless. Good cookies, pastries, bagels... and he's always got bunches of bananas on the counter too. Home-y and cozy place. I got a chicken salad sandwich, an americano, and a marble cookie. The chicken salad is the best I've ever had. It was full of veggies, onions, white meat chunks cut the right way, and I think he dressed it with some sort of cream cheese. It was pretty awesome. Definitely a fan of this place. The chai is home made which is refreshing nowadays when most of the chai comes from a powder package. Got it made with soy milk and it was superb. No extra charge for soy either. We also tried the spiced samosa (which they pop in a toaster for you) and it was so good. Loved the dough and it comes with sriracha. Really helpful and mindful barista. Which seems to be pretty common on this part of the country but it still doesn't go unnoticed. I'm not a huge fun of the tables/decor so I probably wouldn't bring my laptop to work here if I lived in Seattle but would just stop for that cup of chai :D read more

I love Faizel and Cafe Argento! The coffee is great! His sandwhiches are full of fresh vegetables. His homemade soups are incredible, and usually vegan; which is an added bonus for me. Oh, and he makes his own Chai. Faizel's prices are relatively low for this part of town. Seriously, Faizel does a wonderful job at making people feel comfortable. I have spent many an afternoon curled up with homework sipping coffee and enjoying the cafe. It's like this cafe is his living room and he has invited you over for a dinner party. I don't give a lot of five-star reviews, but fuck me if that wasn't one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I came here looking to kill a couple of hours around lunchtime. Between the sandwich, coffee, owner, music, and decor, it would be totally feasible to kill a weekend here. Cafe Argento shines is in its casual approach to perfection. The word "artisan" doesn't exist here, but the bread is top-notch. The ceiling is office tile, but the lights are incandescent. Cafe Argento is a cozy, knick-knacky cafe located in Capitol Hill just off of 12th Avenue. My fiancé and I were looking to have some simple bagels... but this did not hit the spot. Since relocating to Seattle from NYC - we have been severely disappointed by the lack of bagel shops, and also quality of bagels in the Seattle area (we should have known better.) Reading other reviews on Yelp - it seems like Cafe Argento is known for its unique coffee drinks (we ordered none) so perhaps we just missed the mark on this. Faizel and his team are warm, welcoming and genuine. I also think they make the best coffee in cap hill. The beans have a dark, chocolately taste I don't get anywhere else. Baked goods and egg sandwiches are also tasty. So thankful this place is a block away. Even my dog loves to visit. read more

I have been a customer here for years. My drinks started off with Faizel's chai back in 2007 and then I went into a Mocha phase for a few years. Now I get a latte or his special vanilla latte. The veggie sammich with the special sauce on a jalapeño cheese bagel is my favorite, but I have been known to go for a samosa too. Service: Fassil (Hope I am spelling that right) Is Fabulous, Friendly and really just the nicest barista I have had the pleasure of handing off my money to. I almost didn't see this cafe but was on a quest for coffee so I turned around and stopped in after passing it by. + the barista took his job seriously and was adept at keeping good conversation going with customers as he carefully prepared the drinks. + there were lots of windows and plenty of small tables with comfortable chairs for laptopped customers. + the mocha was served in an enormous cup and tasted great. I'm not sure what brand of coffee they use. The T-Shirts for sale on the wall indicated that it was a gay cafe or served gay coffee or something like that....so I hope it doesn't hurt my chances with the ladies if I am seen at Cafe Argento more frequently. The sandwiches were GREAT, but the homemade chai not so much. I couldnt care less though. The ambience of the place is also really nice. tl;dr : Cozy café, friendly service, great breakfast sandwhich bagel and homemade chai. After two days of playing tourist in Seattle, I decided to take an early morning walk in the brisk, clean air. As I exercised my underused writer's legs up the slopes of Capital Hill, I started working an appetite. I'd initially wanted to track down a writing-friendly café where I could plug in my laptop and surf some free Internet for the price of a teacup. But as I was climbing Seattle's steep streets, my stomach kindly reminded me that I had yet to line it with some of the city's tasiest and delightfully prepared dishes. I stopped on Pine at the corner of 15th and asked my phone about nearby café and up popped Cafe Argento. It was real close, and a bit out of the way of commercial streets. The place is small, with a few tables of various sizes to accomodate a few groups and loners. The place is all in rich tones of wood, dark pumpkin orange and faux brick with light contrasts. I liked the place at first glance. Two guys were working the small counter. The main counter doubled as a display case full of pastries, including those fat doughnuts our sweet American neighbors like to call bagels (I'm from Montreal, ergo a bit of a bagel snob) and other delicsious looking pastries. Like all Seattle cafés, the place is equipped with a whole range of machinery to turn coffee grounds into multiple variations of caffeinated beverages. I ordered a homemade Chai and a breakfast bagel. Service was very friendly, the Wifi password was offered as soon as they saw me take my laptop out, and the whole place was floating to the sound of smooth music. It was quite a change from my usual "student/video game industry" crowd back in Montreal's Mile End. The breakfast bagel is as good as the other reviewers have said. Satifying, tasty and filling. I had mine on a cheese bagel. The Homemade Chai was a very welcome warm treat and hit all the right notes you'd expect from the sweet version of that drink. We makes a comfortable atmosphere at a cafe? For me i like the living room cafes with couches, lounge chairs, rugs, board games chess, and your misc vintage furniture. Sometimes the vintage touch gives it a dingy feel, but Argentos has high ceilngs and lots of windows equalling lots of natural sunlight. This is a quiant neighborhood spot, where the owner knows everybody in the hood and their doggies. Free wifi, cozy, not crowded, mostly coffee and drinks, but a few essential cafe items, sandwiches, pastries, lots of parking and very entertaining neighborhood gossip. read more

It is easy to miss this place walking along, thinking about Cal Anderson Park or the awesome Bloody Marys they have at CHAC lower level (may it rise again). Don't know how to spell the guy's name, but he is earnest and knows how to make a damn good cup of coffee. For a balanced, complete breakfast, he has a nice spread of bagels, etc. The wireless is very peppy. The sass and / or drama seems rare, at least in the mornings. I started going to Argento because my boyfriend and I are too cheap to pay for internet and this place is right around the corner from our apartment. I keep going back because it's seriously some of the best coffee I've ever had - Americanos to die for. Argento is great. The coffee is delicious, there are many options for milk and add-ins. Their breakfast sandwiches are made quickly and fresh. The only real complaint is that it's usually a bit of a mess. This doesn't affect the quality of the food, but it does make Argento more of an in-and-out place rather than somewhere I'd want to stay. We dropped in while waiting for a nearby business to reopen after lunch. It was our first time there and probably not our last, if we're in the neighborhood. The young man (who was not the owner) working was extremely friendly and professional. The house made lentil soup was very hot and very good. The garlic butter on split and toasted poppy seed bagel was quite tasty. The samosa also had lentils in it, and was decent. The latte was smooth and well made, albeit without a fancy design on top. We're visiting from out of town and, although we've been to Seattle many times before, are unfamiliar with this area of town in specific. My son and I set out from our airbnb on a hunt for coffee and muffins to feed the fam, and expected to walk for 5-10 minutes to find something. We were pleasantly surprised to find Cafe Argento literally steps from where we are staying. The owner and his assistant were welcoming as we went in, and quickly made us what ended up being really good coffees. My wife commented on what a good cup it was upon first sip. There was a good selection of muffins and bagels and such, and the breakfast sandwich my son had was "awesome" in his words. As he made our coffee, we got the scoop on the happenings in the neighborhood while we're here, and had some friendly casual chat. There appeared to be some cafe regulars in, and it had a lovely neighborhood vibe to it. A great and unexpected find! read more
