Lets just get to the point here, CAFE AMRI IS ONE OF A KIND! Service is exceptional, FIVE STARS. Food is so fresh and delicious, highly recommend this place for breakfast. If you can come here on the weekends, they offer potatoes prepared differently that go well with your omelet. Really fresh and tasty coffee. Appreciate the outdoor seating, it's really relaxing. I will definitely be back, came here back to back last week because I just moved to the area......CAFE AMRI IS A MUST TRY, do not hesitate or think twice about coming to CAFE AMRI ! :) read more

Basic experience, ordered chilaquiles and, after waiting almost 30 minutes to sit & 30 minutes for our food my chilaquiles came out cold, TWICE. I don't believe in continuing to request the same thing over and over or ague, plus the waitress was nice and doing her best and I know she didn't make them. This was a Sunday, the vibe was just ok. Parking was good. Pricing, a little overboard for basic breakfast. Location is easy to access. My kids (one got pancakes and the other a burrito) were ok with their food. I tried it, in my opinion Denny's is cheaper and better quality unfortunately. This is one of those places that people go to with friends and family after church or on family days and sad to say but I was Very disappointed with the food. Will not be returning. read more

Cafe Amri - Cold Chilaquiles w very little avocado n eggs - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Oxnard, California

What a fantastic find. The food was excellent, service impeccable and the ambiance chill. I hesitate to rate this establishment as high ratings usually increase the number of patrons. Doors open at 0700 all days but Friday. Fridays doors open at 0600. The well deserving staff locks the doors at 1400. I love this place and those that keep it going. Servers and chefs, thank you read more

My boyfriend and I planned on being in Oxnard for the weekend, so I looked up brunch spots with good reviews and ended up going here. When we arrived on Sunday morning, we were told it would be a 20 minute wait, but it turned out to be over half an hour. On the plus side, you can have free coffee (it tasted okay--not that strong) and cookies while you wait. I ordered the Seafood Benedict and my boyfriend ordered the Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. I chose the Seafood Benedict because 1) I like eggs benedict and 2) the smoked Ahi tuna was unique for an eggs benedict. The eggs and the Hollandaise sauce were tasty. Having the dish with smoked tuna instead of salmon was interesting--it had good flavor, but the tuna was overcooked. My boyfriend enjoyed his Corned Beef Hash. We also ordered a small stack of pancakes, which were fluffy and delicious. Service was okay. The restaurant was really busy, so sometimes it took awhile to flag down our waitress, and when we did we had to wait awhile for her to come back with our coffee, napkins, etc. She was friendly, but acted overly friendly (instead of being natural). Overall, the food here is good for the price. I'm not as patient as I used to be when I was younger, so I'm not sure if the 30+ minute wait was completely worth it. However, the menu is pretty extensive, and everything tasted pretty good. I would recommend coming here but not when it's super busy. read more

Fantastic food, great service, and good prices........have not had anything other than breakfast there, but it was more food than both my wife and I could finish......Definitely want to try more things on their menu. read more

Very pleased with this place today- first time ever coming! They sat a group of 7 very quickly. Our server was great. Alvarado I believe his name was. Food taste was great and portion size huge! About $16 for an omelette, but it's a big portion and comes with a lot of food. Ambiance was also good because the restaurant is large and the tables have some space between them, so it still felt private! Would return! read more

5 Stars! I love this place. The food is always amazing, and I love the owner Irma! Staff is always friendly and provide wonderful service.

The Eggs Benedict and potatoes are to die for. My husband ordered the Chilaquiles and said it was the best he's ever had. Thank you, Amri for the great food and outstanding customer service. read more

Love the ambiance here! Such a staple in our family for Sunday outings. This place is so great that it is POPULAR! Therefore Wait time is usually pretty long, but that tells you how bomb the food is! Try calling ahead to get in the list ahead of time, but I promise they are worth the wait. My husband loves the michelada and I love their mimosas although I love EVERYTHING on their menu, Favorite dish for me has to be their country fried steak. My husbands go to is the Cajun flat iron steak. Highly recommend! Ray and Irma are amazing people who take such pride in their business! read more

Best Cafe in Oxnard, possibly Ventura County, nothing on this menu disappoints. My only complaint is their hours of business, but if you can make it in before they close everything is fresh and amazing! read more

Okay, so my brother kept telling me about this place, we finally went, with my other younger brother and my grandma. Of course i got the chicken and waffles to compare it with Roscoe's chicken and Waffles. =) So, i got my meal and it was freaking DELISH! the chicken was good, better than Roscoes, but...with the waffles, i say Roscoe's wins. Who knows, maybe i need to go back to Roscoe's again just to make sure their waffles are really better =p My grandma liked her pancakes, so if she like Cafe Amri, then it must be good =) i had a good first time experience that I went back and took my two cousins, and another time I took one of my old friends to Cafe Amri. All 3 of them said they loved the chicken =) The place is pretty small, but if you get their at the right time, you'll get seated right away. I'm just glad Oxnard has something good for once! Totally recommend! read more

I loved this place! Was passing through and found this place on Yelp. Had great reviews so decided to stop by. I'm so glad! We only had to wait about 15mns and our waitress was the best. She was so lovely and made great recommendations. I didn't get a chance to take pics of the food because we where so hungry. My hubby ordered the chicken and waffles and it was one of the greatest things. The chicken was very juicy and crispy at the same time. I ordered the chicken chicken steak and eggs with a side of pancakes and potatoes. It was so delicious! If I'm ever in the area ( because I live like almost 1 1/2 away) I will definitely stop by again. read more

Cafe Amri - Pineapple mimosa, first time and it was worth it! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Oxnard, California

Aside from the food, the best thing I love about this place is that it happens to be located down the street from my house. I'm fairly positive that I was hungover on all my visits there. Regardless, whatever I've ordered was excellent. The cinnamon bun is to die for and their chicken fried steak is out of this world. The staff are very friendly, so nice in fact that they make you feel at home. read more

While in town for a minute, I was able to catch up and chomp down on some breakfast with a friend of mine. I have heard great things about Cafe Amri, so when he suggested it, I hopped at the chance to check it out. When we arrived. We were promptly seated outdoors, per our request - ha! Covid joke. Our server offered us mimosas and we were not ones to turn it down. I believe my first one was a mango/pineapple and the second mimosa was mango. Tasty! My friend ordered the chicken fried steak, which is my go to, but today. Today! I saw they had a Monte Cristo on the menu and I am not one to play around. The MC did NOT disappointment. It was crunchy yet doughy, cheesy, savory, and the right amount of sweetness. It was served with blueberry syrup (?), but I elected to be true to the Monte and spread jam on it. So bomb! The chicken fried steak looked good too, but c'mon... you can't pass up a battered, deep fried, ham, and Swiss cheese sandwich sprinkled with powder cheese. Get you one! read more

I didn't really understand the aesthetic of the restaurant. Some parts seemed classy, and other seemed super casual, but the food and service were great. Thank goodness for a kids menu, because we had our toddler and newborn with us . Our toddler loved the French Toast Sticks . My husband had a super filling burrito. .....I can't recall what I had, but it was sweet and yummy read more

Thanks to our Yelp community for this BFast find! I like to try chicken fried steak when I go to BFast places for the first time. I find it to be a good indicator of the chef's skills and care in his kitchen. This version was pretty darn good: crispy crust on the outside and flavorful, tender meat inside. Excellent! Gravy was okay, but I added a good bit of pepper. Hash browns were very good, though I think the serving of Egg Beaters was around a half-cup (a little skimpy IMO). Service was superb! Stacy was friendly, efficient, and had a good sense of humor. Took the rating from a 3-to-4 for me. Cheers! RS read more

They are not service dog friendly and do not know the law. They are allowed to ask 2 questions which are is this a service dog ? And what is it trained for? Instead they would rather question your disability and they are worried about complaints from customers about service dogs. I was personally insulted by the owner who questioned whether I had a disability. They need sensitivity training and training in ADA LAWS. read more

Wanted to like this place but it didn't deliver on taste or food quality which doesn't make sense given the high prices and high ratings. This place is not remotely four star good. The biscuits and gravy were not good. The fried chicken was not good. There was nothing exciting about the club sandwich and the meats used were processed. Completely unimpressed with the food from every dish. read more

It's get SUPER busy! But, you still have to come. This place is great for a small meeting. They have a large round booth that I love to sit and eat my breakfast. The food is just like home! I love the biscuits and gravy. The cinnamon rolls and coffee are a must. Everything else on the menu has never failed me. If you're driving by the area... stop by and support local business read more

This place is a bit out of the way for us so we didn't make it a point to go until my fiancés brother picked this place for a Father's Day breakfast. They were very busy that day and I felt our server wasn't as attentive. They are not vegan friendly either, we had a side of plain chilaquiles and hash browns. Both were yummy but the side portions are tiny. Everyone enjoyed their food and said the pancakes are delicious. read more

If U love Chicken n Waffles this may be Ur spot!! Visited this place a few weeks ago on a Company Dinner. Staff were very accommodating with all of our requests! When additional Employees showed up Staff added more tables & umbrellas to keep us cool outside The Grub: The Menu looked good for an Employee Event but the tastiest item was definitely the Chicken n Waffles! My Co-workers kept saying "I should have ordered what he had" while munching on their burgers or sandwiches, pointing to my meal. This meal came w/ a LARGE Waffle, 4 pieces of crispy chicken, hot sauce & of course syrup! Decided to wash it down w/ an Arnold Palmer drink, also really good! Return or burn? Will definitely be back when I need a Chick n Waff fix! Thanks for everything Cafe Armri! read more

This experience started off great. Was greeted at the door by the most friendly host ever!! It was followed up by a extremely nice and friendly waitress. Like most that have visited we started off with the cinnamon roll. Hot, soft, and ooey gooeyness. I ordered the chicken and waffles and Steph ordered the chicken fried steak. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! Crispy not greasy chicken and a huge waffle. I needed a second stomach!! Diffident will be back again. read more

Ana, worst waitress I've ever had. Had a hair in my food and she handled the situation unbelievably unprofessional. No sorry, smirking while I'm telling her about HAIR in my food. Probably should be working somewhere without food. Maybe a gas station or retail store. She needs a lesson in manners ASAP. I feel bad for the restaurant owners having to deal with her attitude. read more

Went for breakfast this morning, we were shocked at how much the prices were raised. The food was warm, we only got served coffee twice and for $4.00 a cup I would have expected at least another serving. the real shocker was when the waitress wouldn't give us our check until we told her whether we were paying with cash or card!! we told her it would be cash and when we received the check, we noticed that if you paid with a card, you got hit with a service charge! AND the gratuity was tacked on to that.! It was a $30.00 tip for not especially great service and warm food!! Needless to say, we won't be back. I would have preferred to leave a zero-star rating, but couldn't! read more

Would not recommend this restaurant due to the rude host. Don't know his name or what his position is. I visited on 3/1/24. The host was not happy that we didn't want to sit at a table stationed in the middle of the room. We kindly advised him we would wait for a booth. With that he told me my party and I would have to step outside and wait there for a booth. I asked him if he was serious because after all it was raining outside. He said yes. Now that's some pretty crappy service. Well we didn't step outside. We moved to a corner where we wouldn't be in anyone's way. Got seated. Server was good. Ordered breakfast with 2 eggs over medium. They were over easy. Very watery. Yuk! This was my second time at this restaurant in 2 years. First visit was worse. Won't be going there again. read more

The chilaquiles here are so good!! I will be coming at least once a week for these! Chile Verde

Had the best chicken and waffles, they actually used chicken thighs and drums. Great portions! I had their seared tuna salad I believe, and it was amazing!!! Michies were pretty well prepared. Officially in my top 3 go-to breakfast eateries around Oxnard!!! I've been here a handful of times for breakfast, and am currently wanting to go back right now! Craving breakfast??? GO HERE!! CUSTOMER SERVICE: 4/5 -- I'm always quickly greeted at the door with sincere smiles and a warm welcome. I get seated as soon as there's an available table with no delay, and am kept updated that my table is "almost ready," "being cleaned," etc etc. If I come and they're not busy then lucky for me! Waiters are always happy and kind. However, it always takes a littleeeee time to be served when you first sit down as you wait for your server, and they are not as attentive with refilling your waters. FOOD: Taste: 4/5 -- Overall, delicious food!! There are just some times where I'll find the eggs for example sweeter, or the pancakes a little bland, but then again that's what ketchup and maple syrup are for! Quality of Food: 5/5 -- Everything tastes fresh! It's never oily! Taste just like home cooked breakfast, but better! Portion: 5/5 -- Huge portions! More than enough for the average eater. Come on an empty stomach! Price: 5/5 -- Worth every single penny. Prices are absolutely reasonable. Presentation: 4/5 -- 4 because it's always plated well and not messy. Very organized. But I feel that the cinnamon buns, pancakes, waffles could be plated more nicely, maybe??? read more

I usually expect better from this place as I do know the owner. I like that they expanded. I ordered the Vegetable Omelette which comes with choice of toast or pancakes AND fruit OR potatoes for $10.25. I can't eat that many carbs. I asked for the omelette, the hasbrowns and a side salad. I was VERY annoyed to find out that I was charged an extra $1 to sub a salad and then $3.99 for a SIDE OF HASHBROWNS. Pretty sure it comes with the breakfast in the first place? That was AFTER our food took 30 minutes. My Mom was very irritated but I insisted we just hang out and talk; our server was very polite and patient with me as I had questions regarding dietary restrictions. It was't a good start to our morning especially when we got the bill. I didn't say anything at that point because I was irritated and just wanted to leave. No reason our food should have taken 30 minutes when there wasn't a wait and NO reason to charge me that much money. My Mom and I will not return. read more

I have been to Cafe Amri 4 times. Every time it is superb. I cannot say enough about the fabulous weight staff. They listen to and make sure every meal is perfect. The cooks are beyond excellent. My husband gets the lucky tuna Benedict. He says it is the best Benedict he has ever had. And he's had it here three times. The fried chicken is to die for. The flavor of the moisture the seasoning the breading everything is excellent. And not greasy. The pancakes the waffles excellent. Always make them Erma's way with the fruit in the nuts and the whip cream. I have brought friends who don't like eggs but they like eggs here.
