Café 86 is absolutely INSANE--in the best way possible. I had never been here until a friend recommended I try a boba, and wow... my mind was blown. I always wanted to try boba, and this place set the bar so high. My go-to order is the coffee milk tea with boba (a perfect combo of coffee and milk tea), and it's genuinely one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted in my entire existence. I also love their Thai tea--that gorgeous fluorescent orange color that looks unreal, but is actually all natural from plant leaves. So good, so smooth, and completely addictive. And don't even get me started on the desserts. Their ube bread pudding tastes like chocolate cake and comes with ube ice cream. I later found out ube comes from a root vegetable, which somehow makes this mind-blowingly delicious dessert feel almost healthy... my mind is still blown. The menu is massive with hundreds of items, and I honestly want to try everything. On top of the incredible food and drinks, the employees are so kind, friendly, and welcoming. You can tell it's family-owned and operated, and that they put so much pride, love, and care into everything they make. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing with TVs, tables, and a vibe that just makes you feel happy to be there. Bonus points for being pet-friendly--my dogs love coming here because they always get little cups of whipped cream, which they might love even more than I love the boba. I didn't get to eat here (I was full) but all my friends did and we had a wonderful time. They enjoyed their ube ice cream, the churrochi, and the ube brownie as well as their drinks (can't remember which ones but they were all really good, according to them.) It was a nice little spot to escape the heat, for sure. They have a little claw machine that you can use a card with by scanning a QR code but when I tried it, it didn't work but still took my money, thankfully the owner refunded me. The first time we tried one of every pastry they had available (there were 6 of us, so it was a little bite of everything). Ive since been back for drinks, pastries and halo halo. It's a little known fact I'm a sucker for ube based treats, and Cafe 86 has opened my eyes to a myriad of yummy new possibilities. We showed up about 10 minutes before opening hour of 11:30 am and door opened exactly at 11:30. Guy behind the counter was alone, and was friendly enough. We ordered two sandwiches and an ube poptart. It took nearly 20 minutes to get our food, which isn't terrible, but if you are time-pressed, it's something to consider. One thing that was a little distressing, they only had 1 ube poptart left. At opening. Huh? So, I bring it up just to say that you might not be able to get what you want, even if you're their first customer of the day. It just feels a bit like they could have things ready to go. The Turkey Pesto Sandwiches were good, nothing too special, but tasty. Ube Poptart was REALLY tasty and would get me to go back, but I would be too leery they might not have them, so I'll probably save the calories. We ate in and it was pretty warm inside. Music and vibe were cool, but it otherwise wasn't that comfortable. Menu has a ton of items with interesting names, but no descriptions, so I have no idea what they are and didn't feel like asking what each thing is. So in summary, it's good but if I went back, I'd consider ordering ahead to ensure that I wasn't disappointed to make the trip only to find they didn't have what I wanted. read more

Service: Told us we couldn't use our gift card as it was "location specific" never heard of that before. The gift card was gifted by someone at a location quite far from us so it's basically a waste. Even though that is the main reason we even wanted to try this place. Still we bought a dessert, packaged in a way that makes no sense. Also the manager didn't even bother to come out to tell us themselves, so the employees left for a bit to speak on their behalf. Food: We ordered to sit down and eat the ice cream churro dessert as a treat. They packaged it to-go in the smallest plastic container and we couldn't even enjoy it before the ice cream melted since employees gave us the wrong utensil and couldn't find forks or knives and the whole experience was a mess. The dessert was ok but overshadowed by the experience. Seating: dirty tables despite no other customers, so unsure why that is, and limited awkward seating.For example they have a long table with one chair and another next to it has two very far apart seats, benches outside no tables. I had ordered a Cookie Butter latte and an Ube pop-tart. The owners were super friendly and it seemed like a family owned business. Reviewing a few drinks so I remember for the future. Jasmine Calamansi - taste artificial. I will pass on this one. Mahalo Mango - a refreshing drink that is well balanced. Not too sweet and not artificial. The Mermaid Milk Tea - it's a jasmine milk tea. I don't know if it's the way it was made when I had it, but it was a bit watered down. This was my first time trying this cafe. I know they have multiple locations but there's a first for everything lol I got a hot matcha and it was really good actually. I'm kinda picky with my matcha but this one was really smooth and I added sweetener and it was right sweetness for me. I didn't try honestly most of the food because it had ube and unfortunately I am an ube hater lol but it did look good! I like this location has a good amount of seating to hang out or do some work. They're know for their ube desserts, we love the ube cheesecake crack and truffles but this time tried the halo halo and the ube and turon pop tarts. Happy that there is a Filipino owned boba shop in town! Cafe 86 is a good introduction if you never had Filipino Halo halo and other desserts! Their milk tea is yummy as well! But, the time I went, their boba was a little hard. If it the boba was a little softer, I think it will be a better drinking experience. Will come back again to try other drinks!
