I've only had one to-go order which was a burger and onion rings. The service was friendly. The burger was ok. I did like the nice thick patty. The onion rings were a thick batter, not my preference but you may like that! They were crispy. It's a cute diner type place that I would enjoy returning to and try a few more things. read more

We fell in love with this diner! Breakfast all day...Who can beat that? I also loved that they are tuned in to gluten-free needs and serve gluten-free bread for only 35 cents extra. Our food was delicious! Breakfast of course, and it was appreciated that they serve a mini size which was plenty. The salsa was so good; I'm sure it was house made. Everything was prepared with care. My fiancee's family has visited many times however this was my first. We decided to come here after realizing how limited food options were in the morning at Sumas. This diner is cute, small, simple, and homey, especially when you overhear the staff call to people by name. However despite its simplicity it remains clean and well kept. Our Waitress was friendly and definitely accommodating as we had a 1 year old with us. The menu is classic for most diners with biscuits and gravy, "Big Man's Breakfast," and Eggs Benedict. I had the big man's breakfast which was great. The hash browns and country fried steak were that perfect balance between crunchy exterior but soft in the middle. My only complaint was that the gravy, although flavorful, did quite have the consistency I prefer. read more

Had a bacon burger with fries and it was absolutely one of the best I've had in a while. Love how it maintains that small diner feeling and the service was excellent, Zack was fast and accurate with my order. They also changed their patty size to 1/2lbs so their burgers are big and filling. Definitely recommend going here. read more

If Cafe 544 sounds like the name of a diner you might see in a movie that is set in the 1950's, you would not be far from the truth. I had driven by several times but it was always closed as I work graveyard shift which are outside the cafe's operating hours. Today I made a point to stop in for breakfast, and I was NOT disappointed. I was instantly met with a smile by the waitress, Von, and was instructed that it was open seating. Sitting in the restaurant were 8 patrons enjoying their food and each others' company. Everyone knows each other, the waitress knows where certain patrons will sit before they enter the door. I felt like I went back in time for just a little bit of my day. I don't know how it is at lunch or dinner yet, but breakfast was both delicious and entertaining. read more

Just moved to Nooksack so have eaten here several times since we were unpacking. We've had burgers, club sandwich, fish & breakfast. So far, everything we've had has been good. We went for a breakfast, and a lunch on separate occasions. The breakfast was superior, but both meals were good. I really enjoyed how friendly the service was and the waitress seemed to genuinely care about getting things right. The portions for breakfast were HUGE for a good price. Admittedly though, they did not get my fiance's Eggs Benedict quite right. The eggs were a bit over cooked and the amount of hollandaise was almost sickening. I got the chicken fried steak and it was superb though. Cooked perfectly and the gravy was also very good. We did feel a little sick afterwords, but that's our fault. We wanted to eat it all! As for lunch. I got a burger and she got a grilled cheese. Less impressive, but still good. I thought the burger would be a bit bigger, but her grilled cheese hit the mark. The chocolate milkshake was great too! The only major downside of the place is its size. It is a perfectly styled classic diner, but man is it small and the number of people in there when we were there made it very hard to concentrate on the person you are with. It was pretty noisy! But overall I would return for a big breakfast time meal when it is time to spoil ourselves again. read more

I don't understand five and four star reviews for any roadside Café or eatery unless they are truly four and five star restaurants. Yelp reviewers wake up! I was visiting in town for a week and thought I should give this place a try for breakfast... You usually can't screw up breakfast. The link sausage was unlike any I've ever tasted or seen before... never again The thinnest white bread toast drenched in some kind of buttery substance came out in place of sourdough and wheat bread toast. I asked the waitress, What do you serve for orange juice? I don't know, I'll go look. She replied, I can't tell , it says something in Chinese on the box. Maybe that's why I couldn't finish the orange juice either. Have we gotten so far away from what real food tastes like and how to prepare it that imitations earn 4 and 5 star reviews? Unbelievable. The locals here need to get out more. I went to another place in town that truly has fresh and clean homemade food. It's in the most unlikely, funkiest, looking place I've ever visited. Mostly because it's under construction. But the food there was very good and freshly home made. Well- that was disappointing. A $25 breakfast for two - no flavor - no seasoning - they said they did that on purpose and let people add their own salt and pepper. Nothing seemed homemade, not the soup, hollandaise sauce, hashbrowns etc. I want them very much to succeed since a nice farm friendly cafe in Everson would be great. Maybe cut down on portions and cut the price for locals. There are so many outstanding cafes in the area now that they will have a hard time bringing in people with inferior food and the same prices as the better places. Need some good homecooking from FRESH products, stronger coffee, and probably a smaller menu with top notch food choices. I do wish them good luck in the future but will have a hard time wanting to go back. A perfect candidate for "Restaurant Impossible" show. read more

This is one of our favorite places to eat! It is our go to, when I don't feel like cooking. I love the food here, because it is always very good. The service is great and the food is always good. Sometime we eat in, but more often we order take-out. I would highly recommend this place! (All the locals go here!) Everson's Cafe 554 is a hidden gem! We stopped for lunch and the senior burger was big enough to bring home half of it in a box. The fries were crispy and delicious, just the way we like them. The side salad was plentiful and fresh. Everything was delicious. It is worth the side trip between the Mt. Baker ski area and I5/Bellingham to swing by for a hearty meal. read more

I continue to be surprised at the number of items on Nina's menu, but what really blew me away was the service my group of 25 received.
