Don't get the sushi, it's just grocery store sushi. Quality is not great and the rice is terrible.

There were a lot of breakfast options, from specialty pancakes and waffles to unique omelets and Mexicandishes like Chilaquiles. I got the Biancasada omelet, which has carne asada, peppers, onions and cheese. It is served with your choice of side (I got potato wedges) and bread (I subbed the grilled peach specialty pancake). The omelet was ok...the carne asada wasn't great and the other ingredients could have been cooked more. The wedges were good, but I didn't like the grilled peach pancake as much as I thought I would and wished I would have got the lemon blueberry. Portions were big, and I took half to go. Hubby got the chorizo con papas omelet with hash browns cooked extra crispy and a buttermilk pancake. The omelet was really good, and the hash browns were cooked well. The pancake was a pancake. They only have Pepsi products, so I went with water, which they refilled well. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and they had Hawaiian music playing. I'd come back to try lunch. The sandwiches and burgers coming out looked good.

The outdoor seating is tucked into a charming, quaint patio that feels like any hometown. There is plenty of sunlight and fresh air. The vibe is comfortably casual: you could roll in dressed to the 9s and absolutely own it while sipping mimosas from the full bar, or show up a little pale with bedhead after a long night, grab a hair of the dog Bloody and not get a second glance or side-eye. We called ahead and were quickly seated when we arrived. Waters were filled, menus were dealt, and we were given an appropriate amount of time before ordering. The staff checked in regularly, and our food arrived within a comfortable timeframe. Overall the service was solid. The menu is nicely diverse with enough variety to satisfy just about anyone. Plus there are a few hidden gems for those willing to stray from the usual standards. We went for the road less traveled with the Tamale & Eggs (go pork) and the Pastrami Dog. Both of those were winners! The homestyle cooking really shines here, not just in flavor but in the generous portions. One dish that didn't quite land for me was the Gazpacho. Knowing how laborious it can be to prepare, I was honestly surprised to see it on the menu. When I ordered it, I was asked if I wanted it with avocado and/or shrimp. I've always had it with avocado, and usually with shrimp. Anyway, I'll also admit I'm just a bit ;-) finicky when it comes to Gazpacho. The best versions rely on hand picked ingredients for the highest quality, careful balance, and enough time for the flavors to properly meld and develop. I can't speak to how this one was prepared, but it felt like it was missing the depth and integration that make a great gazpacho stand out. This place is well worth a visit. If you're planning to go on a weekend or holiday, it's smart to at least call ahead, like we did. It's the kind of spot that gives people a reason to keep coming back.

While the food was great, the service disappointed me greatly. When we were seated we were asked for drink orders and when we said we needed a second to decide our server left. this normally wouldn't be an issue except for the fact that she left us for around 30 minutes. when she came back we decided it would be easier to order it all at once. it then took another 30 minutes to get our drinks, and even more time for our food. When appetizers came out all of us were shocked that we did not receive plates. She brought them over later, but by that time we were finished with our appetizer. All in all the food, the view, and the place was very nice, I just wish that they could improve their service a tad bit.

Our original seafood plan fell through (fully booked, of course, because that's how these things go), so we pivoted last minute. Expectations were...moderate. What we got? A full-on flavor win. First things first: the coconut shrimp. Order it. Don't discuss it. Just do it. Crispy, sweet, a little tropical magic--gone way too fast. Then came the blackened mahi mahi tacos...wow. The kind of "close your eyes mid-bite" good. And the crab cakes? I actually felt a little emotional taking that last bite. No shame. The real plot twist, though? The kids. Our notoriously picky eaters didn't just tolerate the food--they enjoyed it. Like, voluntarily ate it. Parents, you know how rare that is. The vibe struck that sweet spot too--dimly lit and relaxed, with a breezy island feel that somehow still worked for a family night out. I was half expecting to feel out of place with kids in tow, but it couldn't have been more welcoming. The staff was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience easy. So yeah, what started as a backup plan turned into one of those unexpectedly great nights. Safe to say we'll be back--this time on purpose.

There was a big glass private room which we were seated in which is good for a group, though the acoustics in there were pretty awful. When multiple people talk, it get pretty loud and impossible to hear what anyone is saying. We ordered a few things. For appetizers, we got the avocado fries, the crispy shrimp and the ahi tuna sashimi. The fries were pretty tasty! The shrimp were massive, if I was on a date here I wouldn't order these because some of them are quite large to pop in your mouth lol. They're pretty good though, definitely heavily breaded. The sashimi was pretty good, my boyfriend liked it more than I did. For my main, I ordered the chickpea date salad and added salmon. It was pretty good, I think I expected the salad to be slightly more interesting though. Maybe since I got it without the feta (dairy-free), it needs that creamy element touch. The salmon was just okay, it was a bit overcooked. We also got a side of roasted mushrooms. It was a pretty generous portion so it's great for sharing. Our waiter and all the supporting staff were all very attentive and professional.
