SHORT ANSWER: Yes, best time off season or off hours as this place gets slammed for a reason…read more LOCATION: Great location, just off Washington in La Quinta, Easy to find parking can get busy depending on when you visit. FACILITY: Looks like a diner, is a diner, and very nice and clean. MENU: Many selections, breakfast options may be overwhelming but you'll definitely find something you want. Lunch offers very good but standard options. FOOD PREP: Always, very well done for that Louise's Pantry is, they don't fake anything here. FOOD QUALITY: Excellent for this style of food. It is a great experience. WAITSTAFF: We've been here many times, and never have we run across anyone not upbeat, polite, and happy to see a customer. OVERALL VALUE: A bit on the expensive side but considering the amount of food they bring you, it is a fair deal. TIP: Unless you are Mr. Creosote (bonus points if you know that one) for $2.00 you can get a split plate and still have a huge portion. We usually go this way respecting the seats we are taking up.

The eggs needed seasoning, and the country potatoes were dry and lacked flavor, with only a couple of small pieces of onion and red pepper mixed in. My husband had the hash browns instead and felt his breakfast was just as bland. The service was pleasant, and the atmosphere was relaxed, but we were seated next to a broom, dustpan, and the bus cart for dirty dishes, which wasn't the best first impression. The restaurant also feels a bit dated. A few simple updates, like replacing the dusty artificial flowers and keeping cleaning supplies out of sight, would make a big difference. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but with so many great breakfast options in the area, we probably wouldn't return.

Yes, we've gone back to La Quinta--and not only because we love this place so much, but because…read moreit's located in their adorable little Old Town area. On our first trip to La Quinta, we ended up having breakfast here twice during our stay. It's a super small and cozy spot, and it can definitely get crowded, but the service is quick. Seating is first come, first served, but people are constantly coming and going, so you usually don't have to wait too long to grab a table and eat. Their pastries are delicious, but they do go quickly, so if you see something you want, grab it! The blueberry Danish -- 100/10! Absolutely amazing and definitely one of my favorites. The first time I had the red chilaquiles with chorizo, and they had just a little kick while being packed with flavor. The chorizo was the perfect addition and really made the dish for me. When we came back for a third visit, I ordered the red chilaquiles again but completely forgot to add a protein aside from the egg. That was a little disappointing, but totally my fault! Definitely add the chorizo or your choice of protein for the full experience. On our third visit, my seven-year-old got the regular buttermilk waffles, and he absolutely loved them. Honestly, I kind of wished I had ordered them for myself! We also tried the chicken and waffles, and the sauce definitely brought the heat! It was pretty spicy, but the waffle really balanced it out. It was a little too spicy for my seven-year-old, but he loved the flavor so much that he kept going back for more. My boyfriend has also loved everything he's ordered here, so it's safe to say this has become one of our go-to breakfast spots whenever we're in La Quinta. Small space, quick service, delicious food, and that cute Old Town La Quinta atmosphere--we'll definitely keep coming back!
