Arrived early on a Saturday morning. Only two other tables occupied at the time with three floor staff. We put our order in and then waited patiently for over an hour. Waiter never checked in on us and we had to flag him down for a status update: the result was the waiter never even put our order in and had no clue as to what we ordered. Staffing is super hard right now, but checking in on a table that has been sitting for a long time would have identified the issue with the missing order. We were trying to be nice as we live in this small town all year long: it is sad to see this place go downhill. read more

We're driving from Bozeman to Yellowstone today. Nothing we passed sounded right. Found Cafe 191 out in the middle of nowhere. My first thought: a restaurant with overpriced, processed food. Why not? Little competition. Not a lot of choices. Couldn't have been more wrong. It was amazingly good. I had a John-Wayne burger. My wife had a French Dip. Both were exceptional. We're checking off out last six states on this trip of fifty. Probably won't pass this way again. But if we do, this is where we'll eat. Outstanding and compliments to the chef. read more

Went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. They were busy and our waitress had a lot of tables, but was very upbeat and friendly. I had the butter wedge salad with a pepper vinaigrette, it was fresh and very good. My niece had a burger and said it was excellent. My son had the Reuben and it was probably the best Reuben I've ever had! The meat was thick cut and so tender. A great spot and we will be back! read more

Let me say the food is fantastic but the service was very poor. There were 2 of us and we walked in right behind a six top. We were seated promptly got our drinks and our order taken. After an hour I asked our server about our order since the 6 top had finished their lunch and were preparing to leave. He then asked me who our server was-I reminded him it was him. Now we ordered a French dip to split a side salad and a side of Mac n cheese not a large or complex order. He kept saying they were waiting for the pasta to cook. No dude you forgot to put in our order. I get it short on staff but we walked in at 1:45 and got our food at 2:45. We are locals and unfortunately we'll remember this experience. I've been a regular in Big Sky since 2003 when this restaurant was called 'Buggaboos'. It's changed hands several times since then, but this could be the best incarnation yet. I had the chicken fried steak which was very, very good. I normally run down the road to The Corral for chicken fried steak (it's also really good there), but this one is even better, which is saying a lot... I've had more than my share of this dish over the years. Coffee was strong and stout, which is also a plus in my book. My friends had the omelette and pancakes and raved as well. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ESPRESSO COFFEE! Took my fiancé here to get a latte it was my first time and it was just way too chaotic inside and the man who made our coffee had no idea what he was doing it wasn't good and honestly was over priced I didn't tip because he was rude to us and as we left he said wow I don't need a tip. I know I should've tipped but after he said that I'm glad I didn't. Would not recommend if you want any espresso drinks. read more

First time back since new owners and was disappointed with one of the sandwiches. The King Reuben I received had very gristly corn beef, a few strands of sauerkraut, and very little dressing. If you are expecting a Reuben similar to what you would get in the Midwest or East coast, this is NOT the sandwich to get. Pulled in at 8:30, walked in they had to bus a table for us as we didn't want to take up the only other available table which sat 8...waited for the waitress to come and wipe the table off and give us menus....and we waited....a party of 8 walked in and took the large table and they fell all over them for service..2 waitresses...then a waitress walked by and said I'll be right with you..a man handed us menus and said someone will be with you in a few minutes and the large table was getting orders taken by then ....my money spends as good as theirs..we walked out, the restaurant may not care as we are only 2 paying customer...Not very good service. read more
