It took them an 30 minutes just to bring pop and coffee. and another hour to bring breakfast 2 French toast w/ side of bacon and ham/ cheese omelette. Not like we ordered something that took a long time to cook. We have watched ot people come and get their orders and leave in this time. My brother enjoyed his chicken fried steak. Unfortunately, that's about all I have to say that was enjoyable here. One adult ordered a stack of berry pancakes. The toddler ordered one kids chocolate chip pancake. They gave them to the opposite people (at different times, so the adult began to eat the pancake given to him, thinking the chocolate chips may have been berries). This is my boyfriend. I am extremely allergic to chocolate. No kisses for the day, oh well. Then the big stack of pancakes is placed in front of the TWO year old. Not sure where the common sense was there. There were no berries in or on them. They were also gooey and way under cooked. My sister in law and myself shared the breakfast tacos (bland), and had asked for a side of sour cream. They forgot the side, nor did we have an opportunity to ask for it since she never returned to the table. Breakfast sandwich was nothing to write home about. I just ate the bacon from inside. One gentleman who came in announced how he had to be a "man server" for the day. He also walked around without a mask, and was telling his coworkers how he was doing it to see if any customers would yell at him about it, like they had previously. So he walked around the room, refilling coffees, up close to people, to try and get a rise out of them. Talk about unprofessional. When the boyfriend went to pay for the bill (which was over $80?!?!?), he clicked for an itemized receipt (to see why it was that expensive!), and the woman just grabbed the receipt, crumpled it up, and threw it out. MOST of these things could have been fixed right there and then, with more attention, and even one check in. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Bummer. read more

Stopped by because the sign said $10 food/$5 drinks. That sign was misleading. It took an hour to get our food after ordering, Paid $17 for biscuits and gravy, the gravy was gross and from a can. Pancakes tasted like dirt, hash browns cold, and the jam is bitter. The service was also terrible, rarely saw our server, took forever to get drinks and anything else we needed (extra syrup) I'd recommend to avoid this place. read more

This place is a hidden gem. We stayed at the Wilson Hotel while snowboarding at Big Sky, and don't typically settle for hotel breakfasts. My daughter found this place the night before on Yelp and called to make sure they are actually going to be open and serving for dine in breakfast. (Corona times). We were greeted pleasantly, served coffee, and placed our orders efficiently. To our delight, a steady stream of locals trickled in and out picking up to go orders. Here is why this place received 5 stars from us. Went in excited for breakfast at 11 am two days ago. The waitress (unfortunately she didn't have a nametag and didn't state her name) starts by saying she won't be able to take our food order for 20 minutes but she'd be happy to get us started with coffees, or mimosas or a "manmosa" (double shot mimosa). Weird, but okay... we say we'll take a double and single mimosa. We don't receive menus for 15 minutes. My boyfriend finally asks for one, she delivers drinks, then gives us the lunch menu. At this point we've been there at least 20 minutes, and she's delivered our breakfast drinks, but then says breakfast ended as we walked in but she never mentioned that to us.... We sip our mimosas which are dark orange, no champagne to be tasted in either. Disappointed that there is no breakfasts, we weren't told that and were misled by being offered breakfast drinks, we ask for the check.... A check that comes back as $28.00 for the manmosa and mimosa aka orange juice with a splash of champagne. Huge, huge ripoff. We are locals and have always appreciated Cafe 191 for offering a tasty (albeit pricey) brunch, but this was absurd and we felt taken advantage of. Won't be coming back until we get the bad taste out of our mouths. read more

To be entirely honest, this was one of the worst sit down meals I've had in ages. Table got the prime rib dip w/ elk chili and street tacos. The food was mediocre at best. The chili was absolutely awful, sent it back and was still charged for it, as well as a 2 dollar "custom charge" on the bill which the waiter would not clarify what it was for. The waiter himself was also not that great, I believe he spoke a grand total of 4 words to us and left us without drinks at the table for well over 15 minutes. Just overall terrible all around. Very disheartening, was my first visit after hearing so much about the place and my experience did not live up to it. Likely won't come back even for breakfast. read more

Great breakfast spot. Food is amazing, generous and timely. The 191 omelette comes with hearty amounts if chopped ham and crisp bacon, onions, cheese, grilled red and green peppers stuffed in fluffy eggs. This masterpiece is topped with hollandaise sauce! WOW. It has sides of roasted thin sliced rosemary potatoes and you choice of breads. Be sure to ask for some of their homemade Huckleberry jam you will not be disappointed! Hubby had the french toast and it way well egged, crispy and tender. It was topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream. Generous portions! The staff is plentiful, attentive and super friendly. Staff is really really nice! However, their food has been just awful all three times I've been in. The chili was so salty I couldn't even eat it. Advertised cranberries but came with chicken chunks slathered in mayo on dried out croissant break. Nothing else in the chicken salad. This place is delicious and just what Big Sky needed! This new diner serves an incredible breakfast and is very reasonably priced. The biscuits and gravy melt in your mouth and they made some of the best, fluffiest flapjacks I've ever had. It was the perfect hangover cure. They have multiple tables outdoor and their waitresses were all wearing masks, which was appreciated. The owner and his brother were making rounds chatting with guests and thanking people for coming -- love the small town charm. My husband and I came here 2 days in a row the food was so good. The location of 191 is fantastic - just off the main toad heading into Big Sky, on the way to Yellowstone. It's a darling cafe with seating inside and out. And the waitresses are lovely! Coffee is flowing and the ambience is relaxed and friendly. The meals were abit conflicting. My dining companion had a fabulous chicken fried steak - one of the best he's had, and he gets it everywhere! My poached eggs weren't. Possibly nuked. Walked in on a Sunday at 10:55. They were not busy. Four tables open and waitress walks up and says we are doing lunch now! We Drove down from meadow village for breakfast. Got up and left and they didn't care that 50 bucks was walking out the door. Typically on Sunday you can get breakfast till 11am. Though no where on the website or on the menu or anywhere in the business dose it say what b-fast or lunch hours are. We have eaten there often since they opened years ago. But I don't think I will ever go back there after the disrespect the waitress showed us. Wonder if the owners appreciate money walking out the door. It's hard enough for an owner to get someone to walk into their establishment but then for an employee to let that customer walk out feeling unappreciated is doomsville for a business.
