Tumbleweed was an okay breakfast experience, but nothing that really stood out. It's another order-at-the-counter setup where you're asked to tip before you've actually received any food or service--a practice I'm just not a fan of. I had the standard breakfast, which was served in a to-go carton even though we were eating there. The meal was okay overall, but the potatoes were not good. Service was just okay as well. We sat outside on the patio, but it was a hot day, so the outdoor seating wasn't particularly comfortable. Overall, it did the job for breakfast, but with so many places to choose from, there are definitely better options in Gardiner. read more

This place is already 5 stars for their hot sauce collection. There were so many to choose from and trust when I say we tried a majority of them. There is a shelf right next to the cash register where you can grab whichever ones you want and bring it back to your table. We were already trying these before we had our food. The cafe itself is super cute and cozy with plants all around and different pieces of art. They even sell items from local artists including beef tallow lotion and earrings. They have a clean bathroom and an outdoor eating area. They have a vast menu for lunch where the sandwiches are names after dogs and a smaller menu for breakfast. We go there around 11 and were able to order from both so unsure if there is a time limit for either. The staff were so sweet and gave their recommendations and even though it's a cafe, they will bring out your food for you when it's ready. We did still bring our dishes back to the counter, unsure how they generally do that though. We asked for pickles and they kindly gave us some. The burritos were huge and filling but the sandwiches themselves were also good. Unsure what names were but I didn't love the one with the carrots in them. The staff recommended the breakfast sandwich with the biscuit, and although it was good, the biscuit was not the best choice. It broke so easily and made a mess. Unsure of the name of the drink but it was like a lemonade and it was delicious. Definitely would come back and try more hot sauce though read more

Cute cafe with sandwiches named after dogs from the owner and workers' families. Good variety of fillings and combinations and everything was fresh and tasty. Picked up sandwiches twice to bring into the park and they were a welcome meal after a morning of hiking. Loved that they featured gifts and things to purchase from local artists and makers. They had games and books in the back along with comfy chairs for hanging out and a nice patio. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. read more

Swung by after a raft trip for a quick lunch ~1:30 Saturday. Timmy (lamb/beef gyro) - voluminous but pretty light, refreshing especially in the middle of all the burgers and heavy meals around here, a little messy so served with knife and fork. Bo (turkey red pepper focaccia) - they were out of focaccia, ended up being a pretty small sandwich with barely any filling so husband remained hungry after this and some of mine. Drip coffee was pretty good, especially in the mug you get to pick, enjoyed as we waited (awhile) for our sandwiches and perused all the cute decor and stuff for sale read more

I ordered a breakfast burrito without cheese, but unfortunately received one with cheese. When I brought this to the attention of the cook -- who I believe may also be the owner -- I was told that no additional cheese had been added. I then asked her to look at the burrito and identify the obvious gooey cheese inside. Her response was that it "must have been from the previous order on the grill." Mistakes happen, and while they're never ideal, they should be handled with professionalism and grace. Unfortunately, instead of receiving understanding or accountability, I was met with rudeness and attitude when I brought up the issue with my order. Regardless of the explanation, there should not have been cheese in my burrito at all. This raises concerns not only about order accuracy, but also about food handling and cross-contamination practices. Additionally, there was an unleashed dog freely walking around the restaurant and even partially through the kitchen area, which was concerning from a sanitation standpoint. read more

Such a cute little coffee shop and I loved that the food menu was named after dogs! I got a maple breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito, we spoke about it all day because it was really good. It seemed like there was only one worker but she was very efficient and made us our delicious breakfast fairly quickly. Worth the stop to check it out as well as if you need a snack to bring into Yellowstone. read more

We were heading home from a family vacation in Yellowstone and stumbled upon this wonderful little cafe. The food was excellent, but even better was the amazing service! The young man taking our order was so professional and polite while the young lady who brought out our food and coffee was equally as lovely and welcoming. I'm so glad we decided to stop and you definitely should too! read more

Got breakfast and the hash browns and bacon were undercooked for my taste. Hash browns top level was brown but the rest were almost raw. Bacon was sort of floppy rather than crisp. Got the French toast and that was good. read more

We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches and burritos. They were very large in size, so the portion was good. The sandwiches were fresh but the potatoes in the burritos could have been cooked a little bit longer. The burrito did have a good flavor thanks to the salsa. Cute restaurant/shop that makes everything fresh to order. read more

Stopped in for breakfast before going to Yellowstone for the day. The place is owned and run by a very nice lady who was also the only one working that day by the looks of it. Breakfast burrito was solid! Tasty and filling. I will say, the coffee was cold though which I didn't like. Tasted like it was old. I would still stop in again to support a small business though read more

Cute little coffee shop in Gardner. Had a latte and a lemon poppyseed bread. Everything was great. Friendly staff, nice seating inside and out. I wished they had nonfat milk, had to settle for whole milk. Oh well! Still a great latte. read more

So I ordered this burrito today. It had hashbrowns, beans, salsa, cheese, ham, and egg wrapped in a tortilla for $11 for some reason with all that stuff in it, it still had no flavor. Order at the counter, kind of cozy like your own trailer home. read more

I only got a cold brew with the suggested flavor combo of shortbread and brown sugar, but this place is such a cute calm atmosphere. They do breakfast and lunch and have all kinds of fun things to look at and purchase. What I loved most was the local feel. They have pictures of local dogs that they named their sandwiches after, they have books for purchase and one was about the wolves in Yellowstone and written by someone who at least frequents the area if not a local person. (complete assumption) There were plants and just a cozy place. When we go back to Yellowstone we will be stopping by for some food and I will update them, but they put coffee ice in the cold brew! What?! I have never had a place do that before. Love it. The service was great too. Very friendly. read more

Very cute cafe with a very cute dog. I liked the coffee and bagel, but I loved the biscuits and gravy the most. It was delicious and freshly made. Staff was very kind as well. Took a while to get the food but the wait was worth it. Clean bathrooms, and I think the healthcare items they left inside were very thoughtful. read more

We found it hard to found good food in Gardiner, but this place definitely isn't disappoint. The biscuits and gravy are delicious. Coffee is great and they even have gluten free options that taste good. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely recommend. read more

The drinks here are really good, but the sandwiches are just average. Iced chai tea late was super flavorful and the iced coffee was great as well. Sandwich wise, the menu names rotate based off of dog photos. So at the time, we had a Bo, a Juniper and a Timmy. The Bo was a ham sandwich and the Juniper was a turkey I believe. Both of those were served on toasted focaccia bread that was a little uncomfortable to eat it was so extra toasty. The Timmy was a gyro and I probably shouldn't have ordered a gyro here. It just wasn't good, the tzatziki tasted like sour cream and the tomato and cucumber slices were so chunky it was unpleasant. Before leaving I grabbed a chocolate croissant and it was so dry it crumbled into pieces. I had to throw it away. Overall the inside was really cute and seems like a great little coffee shop. Our group just personally didn't care for the sandwiches but the local businesses all recommend it so maybe we just had a singular experience that wasn't the best! I'd say to give it a shot if you're close by. read more

Beautiful owners, delicious food, amazing atmosphere. Breakfast and lunch place that really delivers!

Breakfast in Gardiner! There aren't too many places in town. This place makes a nice bagel breakfast sandwich. We didn't try their breakfast burrito. My only complaint is that the bagels are pretty dense and they don't toast them either. Maybe I could have asked for it to be toasted. Nevertheless they're not light and fluffy. You can choose from a variety of veggies, cheeses, and meats to put on your bagel. You can then finish it off with some plain cream cheese. They have a coffee station with free refills. They also make lattes and such. It's a very cozy place with couches and tables. Both indoor and outdoor seating. They have free Wi-Fi. Of course they have a variety of books you can read, including children's books. They also have a little gift shop. read more

Real quick, real simple, real friendly! Came here Saturday and Monday, everything was great I really recommend the burrito. Monday the 23rd. The employees seemed more interested in socializing than making sure things were attended to. No real issue! Hope to comeback in the future!! read more

Great place to sit outside to enjoy Gardiner. Wholesome good sandwiches and salads. Good value for your money

Mistakes were made with the order. If they are handled with grace, there would be no issues. But when you give the customer an attitude it ruins the experience. The employees are new, so it is understandable. But lose the attitude. After an update, I see it was the owner we were dealing with. Not sure if it was a busy day and they weren't having a good day or what. Also, the free sandwich was because it was wrong in the first place. To all who read the owners comments below, they are made up lies. read more

We stopped here on our way out of Yellowstone to the airport for a quick breakfast. There was no line and about half the seats were being used, so it didn't seem very busy. Upon entering, we were told they would "be with us in 5-10 minutes", which seemed a bit strange with at least 3 visible employees. After waiting about 2 minutes, someone did come to the counter to take our order and told us there was a 40-45 minute wait. We had time, so we decided to order anyway. About 50 minutes later, after every single other customer had already been served, finished their meals, and left, they brought out our two breakfast burritos. I knew there would be a wait, but I was still shocked that there was enough time between the previous customers getting their meal and us getting ours for them to finish and leave. This would have probably been okay, except the food was really disappointing. I love a good breakfast burrito (even an okay breakfast burrito), but this was one of the worst I have ever had. The tortilla was cold, as well as about half the ingredients inside the burrito. The salsa tasted like cheap Pace salsa, and there just wasn't much flavor in the burrito. Fortunately, there was a bevy of hot sauces to drown my burrito in so it was palatable. Our breakfast here was legitimately the low point of our trip to Yellowstone. I would not come back here again. read more

Came in the morning at 7:50am, as Yelp said open at 7am. The owner changed the open hours to 8am without telling the world. Standing in the freezing cold with my kid. The owner refused to let us in even 5 minutes to open, and said it's store policy. I don't appreciate the hospitality. read more

I went with Tumbleweed cafe for a large group lunch i ordered recently. Everything was delicious and the owner was pleasant to deal with. They forgot to include the cookies and before we even noticed it the owner had personally stopped by our meeting down the road from her cafe and dropped them off. We are staying close by and tried this place for lunch. It's a small place with dine in and outdoor seating. My son got the Cooper sandwich which consist of ham, cheese, turkey, genoa, spinach on a tomato wrap. My wife had the Bella which is roast beef, cheese and got her in a gluten free bread. I got the Banjo which is turkey, roasted red pepper, chipotle dressing and spinach on focaccia bread. Our sandwiches were really well made and you can taste the love. Our sandwiches had depth and just hit the spot. Very charming place and highly recommended. read more

This place has breakfast! Even though the Yelp menu posted has only lunch items, they have burritos and breakfast sandwiches. They also have a variety of milk options, and I ordered a coconut latte. Wi-Fi is available, and they have comfortable chairs in the book area to sit and relax. There's also :-) patio seating outside to enjoy the sunshine although it's facing the street so there's not a lot to look at. I ordered a bagel sandwich (egg meat and cheese) with added sprouts and avocado and it was delicious. My son ordered his bagel sandwich (egg meat and cheese) on the sourdough bread, and said he wished it would've had more egg on it. He didn't have any add-ons on his sandwich. My son ordered a breakfast burrito with sausage and said it was delicious. Very filling. Call Price they were fairly busy when we arrive so we had to wait a few minutes for the sandwich but it was worth the wait! Farm fresh ingredients. read more

One of our favorite places while we were there! Food was fresh and can customize it however you want.

Good people, nice atmospheres, very limited space, food is OK, wait times when busy are extensive (between ordering at the cash register and getting food 40 min already). Unfortunately, when I was there, the same person handled money and food. There were no gloves involved during food handling, and the food was handled by the same hands as cards, cash, receipts, and cash register. After handling food, hands were just wiped on pants. It is very unsanitary, especially in our day and age. I hope that was just one off. read more

There aren't a lot of places to go for coffee/breakfast in Gardiner. On our recent trip to Yellowstone, we visited Tumbleweed a number of times each morning before going into the park. We stopped here to grab a quick lunch. The sandwiches are simple, but good. The homemade rosemary focaccia hits the spot! Here are some popular sandwiches: * Banjo: turkey, roasted red peppers, spinach, Pepper-Jack cheese, and Chipotle dressing * Dozer: ham, white Cheddar cheese, brown mustard, and green apple * Cyrus: turkey, Genoa salami, lettuce, provolone cheese, balsamic, and olive oil 1 star off: I wish their bathroom was as clean as their sandwiches. read more

What a great spot to stop in for breakfast and a coffee. Lots of great options for vegetarians, and you can immediately tell that everything is made with love and care. The workers here welcome you in and ensure your experience is a good one. Fantastic ambiance along the main road of Gardiner, with views of the park. I highly recommend stopping here if you're coming to or going from Yellowstone. read more

My go to place for breakfast in Gardiner. Espresso drinks are great and the food is well prepared. The menu is not limited at all for breakfast, lots of options to choose from. Loved the scones and the strawberry cake. The front patio is lovely for having coffee and chilling. Some issues: The croissant we had was not very fresh and tasted like an industrial croissant. Customer service is very spotty and service is painfully slow. Girls at the counter are not very nice, they seem to be doing you a favor constantly. read more

Verrry cool and hip place to go to for a quick breakfast or cup of coffee. My friends and I were preparing to go river rafting next door, but randomly stopped here to grab a bite to eat. Their menu selection is very small, but simple. I went and ordered the breakfast burrito with ham (extra $0.50). Very simple burrito nothing special about it, but cheap considering the size it was ($5). I HIGHLY recommend to eat it with hot sauce to give it an extra kick as the burrito is plain otherwise. The servers and rest of workers are looked pretty young and were very nice and accomodating. I had a group of 6 people and we all ordered a lot, yet the workers were working their hardest to bring out the food and drinks in a timely manner. The overall ambiance of the establishment is very hip with its sofas/chairs on one side and the books/magazines on another. They have mugs, mason jars, etc. to use as cups if needed, which I thought was cool (but I hope they clean it well!). Decent food. Great coffee. Quick service! read more

Quaint little cafe in Gardiner. We stopped by for a quick breakfast here and tried a few different things. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
