We stopped here for breakfast during our visit to Yellowstone NP. They have a variety of bakery/pastry/breakfast items. Their prices are more affordable compared to other places in the area. They have cinnamon rolls for $6.50 and pastry items for $4.25. We came here twice so I was able to try their huckleberry bear claw ($4.25) which was pretty good along with both a hot and iced coffee.

Bear Country Bakery is known for its Cinnamon Rolls and Bakery items that you can grab and go on your way into the park. (See picture of cinnamon roll the size of your head!) We went for a birthday cake early in the morning hoping to order one and pick it up later in the day. The baker apparently was not in the mood to make a cake, and told the girl to tell us she was out of town. They did however have a selection of beautifully frosted cupcakes ready to go that you bought by the each. We picked an assortment of frosting colors, and the cashier helped us pick some birthday candles to match, which was very nice. The cupcakes looked pretty, but had no flavor and were very dry, and only came in chocolate and vanilla-ish flavors. At least we were able to have pretty cupcakes to celebrate a birthday while away from home.

This place has amazing cinnamon rolls and are they ever huge! My husband and I got a cinnamon roll (we split it) to have with our afternoon coffee and we also picked up a chocolate bear claw and a white chocolate raspberry bear claw for breakfast the next day. Everything was very good. The huge cinnamon roll was only $6.50 and it was very fresh. The claws were $4.25 each. The gal that waited on us was very nice too. It's probably a good thing that we don't live in the area, I'd hate to make this a regular stop.

Excellent cinnamon roll. Large, very soft dough and not overly sweet.

Must stop whenever I'm in West Yellowstone. The food is great and Burcin is always friendly and efficient. Wish we had one where I live!

Food was great! We walked in with 8 people and they were able to collect everything for us and get my family into Yellowstone quickly.

My husband and I stopped in for some locally made ice cream, hoping there would be a vegan version…read moresince I tend to be lactose sensitive. No luck there, but it turned out that taking a chance on the real thing was worth it: I had the best vanilla affogato ever, with very little tummy trouble afterward, and my hubby discovered huckleberry ice cream. Some of the choices here will take a bit longer to put together - the bubble waffles are made at the time of purchase, and take a couple of minutes in the iron. Espresso is also made one lovely shot at a time. We were lucky enough to visit W. Yellowstone in early May, when there aren't any lines, so waiting for a minute or two wasn't a problem, especially when it turned out the ice cream and espresso were both so delicious. For a small shop, the menu is really diverse. There are two different types of waffle cones (hot bubble and premade standard), a full range of coffee shop essentials with alternative milks (almond, soy, oat), crepes, shakes, and a few panini sandwiches (including vegetarian). Indoor seating is limited, but there are outdoor tables as well. The shop is small, but cozy and offers some souvenir items as well. This is one of the best indie coffee and ice cream shops I've been in (not just here, but anywhere) - I hope it doesn't lose anything to the massive crowds that will descend upon it once summer's here.

I needed a sweet snack that was vegan. I'm happy that they had sorbet: dairy and gluten free. None…read moreof the ice cream is vegan. I did wish they had huckleberry sorbet, but the flavors were: raspberry, strawberry, and mango. I asked for a sample of mango, it was tasty and subtle sweet. So I got the raspberry and mango two scoops in a cup. Mind you, the scoops are huge! One is plenty to fill you up on a sugar crave. I loved the raspberry more than the mango. The raspberry flavor tasted deliciously tart with a hint of sweetness with each bite!! The service was great and friendly. They even have a veggie sandwich for $18. Now I will say, $18 for a sandwich is the priciest thing in the food world. There's tables out front, NO shade to block the sun, but a small seating area on the inside.
