An awesome little cafe, we eat here fairly regularly. Delicious sandwiches made with fresh ingredients. I LOVE the "Honey Bee". Their dinners to go (shepherd's pie, chicken pot pie) are amazing too; reasonably priced and so convenient. Also one of the best breakfast options around: you can't go wrong with the Starter- they make mouthwatering home fries (probably best I've ever had) and their apple streusel pancakes are unbelievably scrumptious. Found this cute little place on Yelp and decided to check it out with my friend one morning before we cruised to the casino in Plainville. I instantly loved it as soon as I walked in! The decor is bright and fun. The young women were extremely pleasant and the service was great. The dessert case if full of amazing looking desserts (we did not try any unfortunately). It seems they have a limited menu, with certain specials each day also. You order your food at the counter, then they bring it out to you once it's done. They had the usual breakfast fare to choose from (eggs, pancakes, french toast etc.) and they also had a fritatta special. I got eggs with sausage, home fries, toast and grilled english muffin. It was excellent. Not a huge portion, but definitely enough to start the day off on a good note. The coffee was also really, really good. They have a 'serve yourself area' for coffee/tea/water also available And the place has some really nice touches (like the big pretty glass container filled with water and lemon, all the cool decorations on the walls, a super clean restroom out in back, etc.). Overrated honestly. We go here occasionally because of the healthy and different options (açaí bowls, macarons, beignets on saturdays), fresh cooked breakfast sandwiches, and baked goods. It is very over priced though ($32 for 2 egg sandwiches, 2 coffees and a small bag of cookies) and the staff are consistently unfriendly and borderline rude. I love this place! The lunch sandwiches that I've had were all amazing (the California, Brusci, Vermonter, grilled ham and cheese). I usually stick with the French roll for bread - it's delicious and tastes fresh made. My favorite desserts are the buttercream frosted cookies. They don't always have them, but when they do, they are impossible to resist! They are very similar to Christmas cookies we made when I was a kid. This place is good for breakfast, too. I like their pancakes, but favorites are the eggs benedict and most recently a special: biscuits with sausage gravy. The latter was the best I've ever had! They also have a small espresso machine. It's not one of the big professional ones, but produces a pretty good latte. I keep going back to this place because it's the best place for breakfast and lunch in the Lowell area! read more

Unfortunately I'm going to have to give them a bad review. Despite their amazing food, I met the owner and had a really weird experience. I wanted to plan a tea party for me and three friends. Even though they don't have an event room I just wanted to order a bunch of food and even pay to hold a table if she wanted me to. I just wanted to bring my own place settings. She was so awkward and said the food wouldn't fit on a table and turned me down. But that wasn't even the problem she had the weirdest attitude and I was really disappointed by her customer service. There was only one person in there besides me and I just think an owner of a small business should be more friendly, willing to accommodate and professional. I'll never go back in there! read more

This is the best place for breakfast and lunch in the Chelmsford area. I have tried about 60% of the menu and everything is delicious. This place is quirky, has weird hours, is a little pricey, runs out of items on the menu and closes for a while in the summer. All of this adds to the charm of this cafe. What an adorable little bakery and perfect spot for lunch. I had the Vermonter, a turkey/cheese sandwich (I had in a wrap) with Granny Smith apple slices and cranberry aioli. Delicious!! I also ordered a cheesecake cupcake and was surprised to receive a small warm cookie on the side. The cupcakes were all beautiful and made deciding difficult but I'm sure none of them disappoint with flavors ranging from the norm to some very creative concoctions. I've been to this bakery a few times and have to say the service is pleasant. Unfortunately, the majority of times I stop in for a specific treat, they do not have it that day. For example, one weekend, I went in for a cake and they didn't have any. Another day, I wanted to purchase cookies and they had none. While they are a small bakery and a small selection is expected, I think there are some things that need to be standard. I worked in a bakery myself and know that some items are default to have on hand. I ended up going to a bakery in Tyngsboro, which was smaller inside but had a larger selection. Ate at Café 12 for the sixth time today, Mother's Day. I had a wakey wakey bowl with seasoned chicken sausage and perfectly ripe avocado, as well as some other veggies and a tangy aioli which obviated the need for any other condiments (and I love condiments). I like the buttery flavor and consistency of real homemade goods. The vanilla and chocolate cake flavors are both amazing and the frosting is always creamy and fluffy. My co-workers brought in a whole mix of these cupcakes for my birthday and every flavor was delicious! The breakfast: You MUST come on Saturday morning for the beignets. They are hot and delicious! And they have sold out several times I've been, so try to get there by 9:30 to make sure you get one! The other breakfast foods are great too--all ingredients taste fresh and everything is made-to-order. The almond croissants also get an honorable mention--stuffed with fresh crushed almond filling and super flaky! The lunch: I was most surprised by the yummy sandwich selection. I have tried the cranberry walnut chicken salad, the ham and cheese, and the southwest chicken. All have been DELISH and have started to woo me away from my normal lunch places downtown. I decided to give Cafe 12 a try on fathers day for a quick take out lunch. The wait was significantly longer than I would expect, but then again it was a peak time and a holiday to boot. Thankfully, the sandwiches were worth the wait. I ordered the southwestern for myself, the meateater for my husband both on the Rosemary focaccia. While the bill came to around twenty dollars it was far better than any 6 dollar subway sandwich. The ingredients were fresh and they were both packed with meat, greens, and condiments. I would have liked if they offered some side dishes to go with the sandwiches. I look forward to going back to try some of the breakfast selections. Such a great place to get a quality breakfast/brunch that's local! We ordered the mocha iced coffees to go with our breakfast and they were perfect! The young woman taking our orders was super attentive to asking about whether anyone in our party had allergies which I though was really important. They are also very accommodating to those who are vegetarian and easily substituted the ham on the Eggs Benedict for avocado and tomato, super yummy! We also ordered the buttermilk pancakes with blueberry compote, so light and fluffy! The compote was flavorful and the maple syrup that came with the pancakes was 100% pure! I knew the business had changed not long ago, so decided to give the new place a try. It was honestly a little weird that the aprons worn still carried the same name as the last place, and the gift "baskets" had stickers with the old business name. The interior was cute. The breakfast was very expensive and just "OK". Pancakes a little rubbery, though it was a unique combination to try (blueberries and ricotta with lemon). For the steep price of breakfast, I was again a bit surprised that I had to clean up my own table and serve my own coffee. For two breakfasts, a coffee and a juice, I'm pretty sure we paid over $30! I went to Cafe 12 based on their ratings (I didn't read the reviews yet). I ordered the "Bene" which is the traditional eggs Benedict. It looked beautiful and delicious on the plate but it was seriously lacking flavor. The English muffin was dry, the hollandaise sauce really had no flavor, and the very small amount of home fries were cooked well (not burnt or undercooked) but had no flavor either. The eggs were poached well. I liked that they gave a tiny bit of of fruit but would have liked a little more. I paid $14.70 for the "Bene" and a self-served coffee, which is kind of pricey for small portions and lack of flavor. I was really craving a delicious, flavorful, breakfast, but left very disappointed and still a little hungry. I want to like this place because it's so cute inside and they do have lots of tasty-looking treats. Maybe I'll try one of their treats another time but I'll stick to my go-to places when I'm craving eggs Benedict. read more

The youngest in the crowd ( 5 yr old ) said it was the best apple pancakes she had ever had! High praise from the family pancake expert. The regions best pancakes. I am a true lover of breakfast. I enjoy trying all of the areas offerings. Cafe Twelve is one of the best, and hands down, the best pancakes. I ordered their Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, along with a large milk and side of sausage. The pancakes are true buttermilk style, with ricotta grilled into their undersides, with two separate compotes on top, blueberry and lemon, served with genuine maple syrup. They are heaven. The sausages are very good, but could use a dabbing from a napkin to remove excess moisture/oils. I ordered a large milk and was very happy to get an actual large, 16oz. We had the Eggs Benedict - really runny eggs, thin slice of deli ham across both English muffins and tasteless hollandaise sauce. Couldn't even eat the hash browns - so over seasoned with oregano. Hello, Today I ventured out from my fairly new job/office and was looking forward to trying Cafe 12 with a few co-workers for lunch which we found online. It's a 10 min drive from our office and the web page made it look so inviting! As soon as you walk in, it has a great vibe! Cafe 12 has a great décor and is very colorful. I love the pink chairs! When you walk up to the counter you immediately notice all the baked goods which looks so yummy! You order from the black board, pay and take a seat. They will bring your meal to you. My choice of sandwich was the CCW, Cranberry Walnut Chicken Salad with sliced Granny Apples and lettuce on a honey wheat wrap. It was delicious! My co-workers got the Autumn, which they also raved about. We loved the pickle and cookie! We will definitely be back! read more

This place is not good at all. Extremely expensive for the small amount of food given. Owner is very rude and has an attitude. Food is very flavorless. Asked for avocado on my sandwich (which is an extra $.95) and there was only two tiny slices. For a business that started off with cupcakes you would expect cupcakes to be sold more often but the owner actually never makes them anymore. I was excited about this bakery so I decided to check it out. Well, it's not the best. I tried the vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting and it was not that great. First off, it was really dry and not that moist. Secondly, it was dense and heavy. I didn't get it. There are better cupcake bakeries out there so don't waste your time driving here.
