    Parents and I had dinner at Cafe One, Sheraton Wall Centre. It was a unique feeling, emerging from the parking lot to the contemporarily decorated lobby restaurant. The tables were space quite far apart.... and when combined with the loftiness of the space... I kept reminding myself it was all thanks to COVID. For the appetizer, I decided on the Roast Beet and Kale Salad. It was a nice starter salad with huge chunks of beet with a good contrast of cranberries and nuts and lightly drizzled with dressing. I tend to gravitate towards seafood, so my entree was Seafood en Papillote. I realized (when I had the dish placed in front of me) that I had no idea what "en papillote" meant until that evening. There were great chunks of shrimp, salmon, cod, and muscles with veggies, potatoes and baked in butter. Absolutely delicious and I am now very tempted to try cooking my own "en papillote" dish. The greatest appreciation came when it was time for dessert. My parents and I all chose the Cheesecake, and the waiters came with three slices of cheesecake, one with a lit candle! I had forgotten when I made the reservation, I had noted we would be celebrating a belated birthday. It was a great little touch and I thank them for it. It was a very memorable end...and I can never say no to a good New York Style Cheesecake.

    We stayed for 1 night at the Sheraton Wall Centre for a quick staycation. Our package include breakfast for 2 allowing us to spend $30 each. I feel more than enough for breakfast. The spacing of the tables are definitely 6 feet apart. All staff wearing masks. Spacious, happy, colourful and clean feel. We were quickly seated by the hostess by the window. The breakfast menu is quite extensive and I was able to find some items I can have with low sugar and carbs. I ordered: - morning smoothie: very tasty with strawberry, banana, Greek yogurt, hint of honey, and chia seeds. Great start to my breakfast! - avocado toast: on multigrain bread. Perfect for my diet and felt good having this balanced meal. I liked it had a salad and fruit with it. My hubby ordered: - Wall Centre Benedict: I had a bite and wow, rich with belly pork. Very tasty. The food and experience was fantastic! I would definitely recommend for breakfast.

    The only reason to eat here would be because it is convenient and located in your hotel. While it was clean and friendly, is was way, way, overpriced. I understand the city is expensive and I don't mind paying for great food. I had the veggie omelet for $17.00 and a cup of coffee for $5.00. Not to mention I had a $10.00 voucher and my bill was still $20.00. The potatoes were fried little nuggets and the omelet was watery. If you are staying in this place, walk a block or two and you can find $2.00 coffee and a $3.00 breakfast sandwich. Funny part about this is we had coffee for our conference downstairs all day, everyday and I would have guzzled it up had I known it was the going rate of silver. It works if you need a convenient meal.

I enjoyed a premium sake flight (which was fine...just fine), an old fashioned served with the perfect accompanying dark chocolate, and a good amount of sushi including their signature aburi style sushi in flight form and nigiri tuna flight (bluefin, chutoro, otoro). After visiting Japan last December, I'm a bit of an otoro snob but I have to hand it to them, all three of these cuts were perfect. The accompanying rice, perfection. The quality of the fish, divine. The view was the cherry on top of this experience. This will certainly be a spot I revisit next time I'm in Vancouver.

The rice is cooked very well, the curry is delicious and has more depth than the store bought roux, and the eggs are cooked perfectly. We had a wonderful server who was able to answer all my questions in a friendly manner, and they were also pretty quick to serve. We both had the traditional omurice. The omelette was nicely cooked. When cut open, all the juice came out nicely. The fried rice underneath has a large portion, tastes good, but a little bit hard. The curry sauce on the side of the plate is quite salty, but it complement the egg well. The service was really good, and our server even came to ask some feedback for improvement. Overall, we really like this place and will stop again when in the area. Free parking is available in the underground parking lot. Friendly tip: Do not use the door on the side to take the stairs if you are visiting after the building hours. The alarm will go off and there's no way out...

Some of the dishes were very tasty while others didn't wow us. With drinks, we were quite full despite some reviews saying portion is on the smaller size. Our total was around $500 with drinks for 2 people. A really good experience for omakase, especially if you are looking for a unique experience though not my favourite one I've tried.

The unlimited rice/soup/cabbage is just icing on the cake. My dining partner had the Kake udon (pretty good, noodles good texture and slightly smaller strands than most places) and Menchi Cheese side - basically a pork meatball with cheese and deep fried katsu-style, served with katsu sauce. This was excellent. My original review still stands. Excellent katsu, plus they have the consistency and reliability. $28-30/meal and its plenty of food for 1, especially with unlimited cabbage/rice/soup. Restaurant is nice and comfortable, good spacing and not cramped. Easy recommend. 5/5.
